Large, thin crust, Chicken and Feta, ranch (or supposed to be)

My family and I discovered sparta this summer after new management took over and we were thrilled. We ended up ordering multiple items nearly every day for weeks. I raved about the food to everyone and even pushed the company I work for to order from them. Then one day the food changed. I thought it was a fluke. Everyone has bad days. But I have ordered from them 4 more times over the next few months and every time I am disappointed. Today is the worse yet. I ordered 3 pizzas which cost me nearly $80 and they are inedible. I ordered a large, thin crust Chicken and feta, a Large regular crust pepperoni, sausage, hamburger, olive, Feta Greek style, and a small Canadian bacon and pineapple. ALL of the pizzas were thin, hard as a rock, congealed/overcooked cheese, bordered on burnt, and no sauce on any. My hubby and son ate it because they were hungry but it's too hard for me to even attempt. Im so upset. Ive wasted $80, steered people to bad quality food and am still hungry.

I give this place a 9/10. I have never ever had a calzone as good as this place. They are so huge too, it's really worth the $17 in my opinion. They were soooo cheesy and pack full of toppings they definitely were not cheap with it. Only thing is the building is so small I wish there was more room. Highly recommend!!!!!!! Best customer service ever. The lady up front was so kind.

Sparta pizza is amazing! It's pretty much a whole in the wall pizza place. But they have so many great options to choose from. The Cesar salads are amazing. The pizza is always good, the crust on it is perfect. You don't have to ask for thick crust. I would say my favorite sandwich is the Italian Sandwich it has so much flavor and the size of the sandwich is huge. I usually only finish half of it cause it's the size of a calzone! The strawberry cheesecake and baklava are so tasty!

The family that owns and operates this gem is Greek and they are not only amazing cooks, but they care about their community!! I have been there eating several times this winter and obviously homeless people would come to the door and be given water, hot soup, half a sandwich, etc. that just made me love this place more. Now to the food. First of all I had the meatball sub which was not only delicious but super filling. The meat was very well seasoned, and the fresh basil just made the marinara pop even more, add the freshly shaved Parmesan cheese and you've got something special. The homemade bread puts this thing into overdrive! Crispy on the outside, light, delicate but not falling apart and heavy enough to hold together all that deliciousness without being filling like you just ate a large pizza. Now to the ridiculous tomato basil soup. I love the clam chowder but the tomato basil is my favorite. Savory, full of flavor, smooth, creamy and not greasy. This in my opinion is the perfect pairing to the meatball sub. You're welcome! The customer service here is amazing too just like the owners and the food. You will always be greeted by a smiling face, and treated like family. You will not regret stopping here. I've eaten the Meatball sub, The Philly, the lasagna and The Gyro ( lamb and chicken) all have been 10 out of 10. The ambiance is like a neighborhood dinner with a small dining room. All three were delicious and tasted freshly made. For my meal, I ordered the fish & chips, which were very good. I was a little disappointed that one piece of fish was missing batter on one side, but overall everything was still quite tasty. Unfortunate that this is the day I decided it was about time I left a review for House Of Bread…read more House of Bread is a lovely space, airy light dining room, and lots of baked goods, and artisanal-looking jarred goods. It feels very open. They have a menu on the wall, and a chalkboard with the types of bread available that day. Husband orders cheesy broccoli soup, and she tells him "it's not really cheesy broccoli soup, it's got lots of veggies in it too" ok, he says, but still orders a bowl. I choose Tuna Salad, and I select 14 grain as my bread choice - "sorry, we're out of that", so I then choose 9 grain - "sorry, we're out of that", and so I ask for marbled rye - "sorry, we're out of that too" I'm really quite surprised, as it's 12.30 like prime lunch time, and they're out of 3 breads already? Maybe cross them off your chalkboard, so you don't have to keep disappointing people. So i choose focaccia with my fingers crossed, and all was well. The order was complete at 12.36. We sit. We wait. Twiddling our fingers. By 20 minutes I'm becoming impatient, because I'm hangry, and the dining room is not that full - maybe 5 tables. As there are 4 staff working behind the counter (could be more round the back in the bakery) I think service could be faster, to dish up a bowl of premade soup, and assemble a cold tuna salad sandwich. Anyway i get my eye on the young man making sandwiches. He's not wearing gloves, is running his fingers through his hair, and touching his face. I see a sandwich that was on the top of the shelf, and it either fell, or he threw it, onto presumably a bench below, and then reach up angrily for a new bag of bread, I don't know - maybe he made it wrong, and was starting over. By 1.02, (26 minutes later) husband could take it no more and went to get a refund. This is not the review I expected to be leaving today, as I've never had service like this here before. I've never gone here before and had to choose my bread 4 times, due to them running out. I've never had to wait so long for lunch using pre-made ingredients. I don't know what was going on, but it's nothing like all the other times we've been here, and I hope it's a one off. If I go back and see the same staff, I'll just walk straight out again and avoid another experience like this one.

My friend wanted to stop by on her way from work & I remembered how impressed I was back in the Fall. I don't know what happened between then and now but I won't be going back. We stopped in just after 5pm, Thursday April 2nd. I saw a few things I was interested in buying for the family, but I had the feeling someone was staring at us. I looked up and saw the younger girl with multi-colored hair glaring at us while the older girl with colored hair was stacking chairs on tables. Google said they closed at 6pm, so I'm assuming she was mad we were interrupting their pre-close. After seeing the flattest "brownies", flatter than a cookie, the soggy zucchini bread with no date on the wrapper, the glare from the young girl behind the register and not one single "Hi" from the 3 employees working, ( the 3rd one was eating a sandwich behind the counter), I decided not to buy a single thing & not to ever come back. My friend bought 4 items & the glaring girl only spoke when she said the total, not even a "Would you like a bag?", "Thank You", "Enjoy your bread" or "Have a good night." Too bad. My friend & I were looking forward to having a coffee & snack & catching up after work.

Seating is made up of booths along the window perimeter, tables thru the middle area and a large bar area with more tables and stools along the counter. The menu selection is surprisingly diverse. I was happy to see halibut as the fish for their fish & chips, as it is often cod or other white fish. I find halibut to be the best. They also have a few dishes with nods to Korean and Thai flavors. There are pizzas and dinner salads too. I went with their bacon jam burger for dinner. It is cooked to your liking and has a grilled apple, cambozola, bacon jam, arugula & house mayo. This is the best burger I've had in a long time. The flavors complement each other so well. If you are a fan of bleu cheese you will really love the cambozola. It is creamy and oozy and is amazing on a burger. My spouse tried their Cuban sandwich and didn't like that the pickles were mediocre and didn't add to the overall flavors, and that the bread wasn't crisped or toasted in any way -- the way Cubans traditionally are. He also took a chance with a appetizer off the specials menu which he imaged was Brussels sprouts however it was shaved sautéed Brussels sprout leaves, over warm couscous with lots of fresh herbs, jalapeños, and heavily spiced with bold spices like fennel. It was bizarre and not like anything we've ever tried. We liked some of the flavors but all together didn't make sense to us so we sent it back, unfortunately. Our child tried the Mac and cheese that came with purple grapes and sorbet. The Mac and cheese was good although I'd advise SRH to try a larger noodle than a small shell so kids can stab it better and get it in their little mouths. The sorbet must be seasonal/rotating bc it was cinnamon honey pear and it was crazy delicious. I'd come back for just the sorbet tbh. Other than that our red-haired bespectacled server was fairly attentive and quite friendly, even on a very busy Friday dinner rush. Parking lot just outside seems easy enough as long as you can grab a spot at busy times. Will be back in the future for the fried halibut (and sorbet!).

The first red flag was 1pm on week day and there was only 3 parties in the place. The one and only server was very nice, but being the only one, twice when new parties entered he would walk away. Wife ordered chicken katsu rice plate. The overall theme is everything is bland. EVERYTHING.. Her cabbage slaw/salad had a white creamy sauce, my best guess is mayo mixed with ranch but only if both was every kind of free there is, fat, sugar, carb, keto, and most importantly, taste FREE. Her rice was purple, there were purple chunks, not sure if it was potato, the rice was mushy, wet, and Bland. Her kutsu sauce was made from the same everything free ingredients. Come on man, Kutsu sauce is 3 ingredients and all three are bold flavors, how do you mess that up. But ok, they want to be fusion, maybe add some cilantro or chili. She asked for soy sauce and salt to try and add some flavor. Half way through she has me hold out my hand and pours a handful of the "salt" from the shaker. It was not salt granules, almost looked like a salt substitute. I honestly don't know what it was but when I tasted it I would be extremely generous by saying I got a 25% salt flavor. Normally, you put 2-4 tablespoons of salt in your hand and lick your finger, when you taste that, you get a powerful punch in the mouth of dam, that's salty. I was dumbfounded, if they are using that "salt" to cook with them makes since why everything is so bland. I don't want to repeat the Bland Bland Bland theme over and over. I had bulgogi, kutsu, and BBQ chicken tacos. I will skip to the end- yep, you guessed it, Bland. We did have the bulgogi egg roll, I do want to touch on this only because I was so mad at myself once we left I dug Into the reviews. These are one of the most positive commented items, BUT those comments are from over a year ago. Overall, 11$ for two small egg rolls cut in half is ridiculous. Then if you bite/taste just the egg roll, there is a 5% taste of bulgogi sauce. Which again is so explosive of a sauce. But, If you drown the egg roll in the creamy mild sriracha sauce then the egg roll is ok. If you forget what it should taste like and just concentrate on how did they make the sauce with no heat, then you could get at least a 2-2.5 star. Server deserves 5 stars, Food deserves 2 stars.
