I literally work in tech and I cant figure out how to get any answers from this place or their portals/sites. The only online portal I can find is to pay them (which I have). It is so easy to access financial information but finding medical answers feels impossible. I have tried resetting my password, making a new account, calling the Kildaire location multiple times. I either get no answer or someone does answer but that person has no answers. AHHH. I would love to have just one medical experience that isnt expensive and stressful.

I had previously been diagnosed with an ear infection by my PCP and prescribed a 5 day course doxycycline. It flared back up and am leaving the state for a week on Saturday. My PCP was closed due to NYE so I went to NextCare. 4.5 hours later I'm told I have flue B despite no symptoms beyond fever and dismissed. The arrogant FCP, non-doctor, said my ear was bulging but she could not see why. Totally ignored previous diagnosis from an actual Dr and gave me a tamiflue prescription despite. She then proceeded to ask me if I was a Dr or healthcare professional when I questioned why she was ignoring the fact my ear was bulging and the previous diagnosis. She did not even listen to heart and lungs until she brought me the discharge papers. Absolute waste of time and there needs to a zero star rating. AVOID

Based on the pricing on their monitor display, it can be between $99-$139. I was shocked to see the Minute Clinic billed my insurance $151.96 for the visit with the Nurse Practitioner and $59.65 for the Strep throat test. The health insurance discounted price brought the bill down to $110.32 for visit and $41.26 for strep throat test. Still I am being asked to pay $151.58. They just send you a link to pay with no invoice ID or anything. I have been to Minuteclinic before but there is no way I can track what I paid for those visits. I called MinuteClinic support to understand their billing. They put me on hold for an hour while they looked around for an explanation. Then they came back saying the site was still in the process of being updated. I searched for more information online and found a link for strep throat testing from 2994 Kildaire Farm Rd, Cary, NC 27518. It has pricing for "Strep & Sore Throat Treatment at MinuteClinic typically costs $99-$139" ( https://www.cvs.com/minuteclinic/clinic-locator/nc/cary/specialty/sore-throat-treatment-7039.html) That clearly says price to be $99-$139. They are neither transparent nor have low price services. Phone support has long wait and can't address any questions. The nurse practitioner who saw me asked my weight and height instead of taking it. I was told MinuteClinic support primary care. How can they do that if they want to fill in numbers by asking the patient. Also, if they cannot diagnose something, they'll recommend you to the doctor. You'll end up paying twice. In case you have to go, ask for pricing upfront and bill for the visit. At least you know what they'll be billing your insurance.

Instead of feeling supported by the physician and healthcare system we trusted, we were left feeling completely on our own during a time when proper medical guidance and follow-up were critical. What was most frustrating was the complete lack of accountability and follow-through. At our last appointment, Dr. Kaspar specifically informed us that his office would be reaching out to schedule the next follow-up appointment. That never happened. No phone call, no appointment, no communication, and no explanation. For a practice responsible for caring for post-surgical patients, this level of neglect and lack of coordination is deeply concerning. Throughout this entire experience, we felt as though my mother was treated more like a chart number than a patient. When a family entrusts a surgeon with the care of a loved one, they expect not only medical expertise but also professionalism, communication, compassion, and a commitment to ensuring proper recovery. Unfortunately, our experience with Dr. Kaspar and WakeMed fell far short of those expectations. The combination of the difficult outcome following surgery and the complete failure to follow through on promised post-operative care destroyed our confidence in this provider and the practice. We would never return and cannot recommend Dr. Kaspar or WakeMed Urology based on our experience. Patients deserve far better communication and continuity of care than what we received.
