We got there at open, had 0 wait time, and when we left the store was empty. We spent about 20 minutes here while 2 other customers we quickly helped while we were there. I am a work-from-home employee and rely upon my Internet connection 100% of the time. Spectrum is not a reliable Internet provider. Also, Spectrum does NOT provide the speeds that you pay for. Two year's ago, my bill was $49.99 per month but it continues to periodically creep up to what is now $74.99 per month. And it is not fast and it is not reliable. There are very frequent periods of time throughout any given week where the service is down for a few minutes here and a few minutes there. Just enough to cause issues with my connectivity to my job which makes me look like I'm goofing off or taking excessive breaks. In short, I am very unhappy with Spectrum but plan to move within the next year so it doesn't seem worth it to go through the hassle of changing services and equipment. If I were you I'd look elsewhere. Spectrum has missed the mark by a long shot. read more

Terrible slow unreliable internet. Might be fine if all you do is watch streaming videos from Netflix, absolute garbage if you rely on internet for work. I used to use AT&T fiber which was amazing. I'm using the same router with Spectrum and it's like night and day. 3-5 dropped connections a day AND I'm connected via Ethernet cable, upload speed is 10x's slower, makes my job harder than it already was. Paying for 1 gb aka 1000 mbps and getting about 350 mbps (download). 60% slower than what I'm paying for! read more

Spectrum continues its custom of providing horrible customer service. the robocalls you receive with landline is a constant. They can do better than this, and its to the point I think they are getting kickbacks from the scammers. I called to pay my mother's bill and they wouldn't let me for security (!) reasons. Worst place ever. There was one customer being helped and one customer waiting when we walked in. We put our name in the kiosk. After waiting we were next and noticed two of the workers were standing together ether whispering... my husband and I walked over and stood in front of them, they looked at us and continued whispering from about another minute and then separated to their desks and didn't acknowledge us. We then asked if they could help us and they said you need to wait and 10 seconds later they asked us if my name was Kayla as they looked at the board seeing I was next. I said yes and then she just looked at her computer, not friendly at all, not even a simple smile. All three workers that we saw working had zero personality. I made a big mistake of transferring my cell phone service from T Mobile to Spectrum. They didnt activate my phone and I found out that I couldnt receive or dial out. So I had to go to a Spectrum store to get my phone activated and fixed the calling out feature but didnt fix the receiving side. Two weeks of this and I missed two appointments I had through phone calls. Once again call customer service jerked me around, I again drove out to the Spectrum store to get the problem fixed and they didnt fix it. I was so fed up with Spectrum that I decided to go back to T-Mobile. So I went to T-Mobiles store and asked them to activate service with them. Well turned into about a three-hour ordeal. The woman helping me worked hard to get my phone number and phone activated with T Mobile. She was put on long holds, they kept asking for pins and codes, asking for my address numerous times to verify my account, different agents that kept asking for my personal info. I finally told them I am not going to keep repeating my info. I think they were holding me hostage during 3 hours of nonsense when all I wanted was for them to transfer my phone number over to T Mobile. I became angry with them and had tears in eyes from complete frustration and begging them to transfer my number, telling them I want to go home and feeling embarrassed that other customers had to hear everything. I am so so exhausted and thinking about reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. No one should ever have to go through what I did today. read more

The service rep/tech Trevor was extremely helpful, getting us the best deals and upgrades on our data service plans, and taking care of all the many details. No lost data on phones. It really is not in my fiber to give anyone a 1 star but for whatever reason Spectrum went from great to poor in very little time. Customer waits on line are hideous, internet creeps slower than ever, I purchased the faster speed and not only is there no difference, they said they no longer carry the lower pricing - what a racket! I expect this from a foreign company based in Nigeria not from a national company like Spectrum. I have hung up holding 3 times, am on hold for the 4th time, it's been 6 minutes. I generally don't have issues with the actual internet and TV services, however the customer experience inside this particular store is consistently very frustrating. I recently went to the store to exchange a digital TV adapter which was acting up. When I walked in, all the employees were helping other customers but they still immediately noticed me and instructed me to sign into a tablet near the front of the store. After doing so my name appeared on a waiting list displayed on the wall. I was number 2 out of 2. So far so good. There's only one waiting area coach which is positioned right in front a large wall mounted TV. Whatever channel it was on was playing the Scorpion King. It's not one of the Rock's better movies but whatever, I'm #2 in line and won't be here that long... 45 minutes later I'm still there being forced to watch the a mullet wearing Rock walk around the desert. The waiting list is now up to 13 people and I'm still #2. It hasn't moved at all. The same 3 employees are helping the same customers and for the most part, the employees are standing there for extended periods of time watching the customers play with their phones. The employees aren't providing any assistance and are seriously just looking bored and disinterested for 5 to 10 minutes at a time before saying or doing anything. So for the sake of efficiency I ask one of the employees if they can just switch out my box during their down time while they are waiting for the customer to figure out whatever they are trying to do on their cell phone. She responds back saying that I needed to sign in and wait in line. I politely reminded her that I did sign in and that I was #2 and had been for over an hour. She reiterates that she can't help me yet and at that point I'm ready to follow many other customers who had already waited, given up and left. However, the customer being "helped" had overheard that part of the conversation and most likely realized the ridiculousness of the situation and told the Spectrum employee that they didn't need to be there and could continue to play around with their phone and figure it out at home. I finally get helped and it takes about 2 minutes to look up my account and exchange my box. I'm finally out of the store but only after wasting over an hour of my life. The customer service consists of disinterested robotic employees and the system is highly inefficient with no common sense on how to quickly and effectively assist multiple customers. read more

If I was not told by the rep I spoke to on the phone to physically drop off my hardware to the store because they may not cancel my account otherwise I would never have come here. The wait is definitely long regardless if you are a first time customer or just dropping off a piece of equipment. I think there has to be a more efficient way! The waiting areas around the store aren't so bad... air conditioning, big screen TV on, and free wifi. I found comfortable ottoman-like couch and watched some HGTV. When my name was finally called, the woman who helped me was friendly albeit frazzled from being yelled at for at least the entire duration of my wait (maybe 45 minutes). The time at the counter was fast and she was helpful answering the few questions I had. Overall: I really didn't have any issues other than the long wait time and I chalked that up to the two employees not wanting to rush the customers they were already helping. read more

The deal I signed up with lasted about a year, then Spectrum doubled my price while offering new accounts on my street the same deal at 1/2 the price I'm currently being charged. I gave Spectrum a chance to match their own new customer deal and the price charged by Frontier for the same speed internet. I am very unsatisfied with Spectrum! They are too expensive, the internet sucks and they just don't seem to care about this. The employees who answer the phones are polite, but overall we are just done with Spectrum! Don't use these guys. They refuse to lower it, despite the fact that there is an open class action lawsuit because they do this bullsh*t. Get your services from anywhere else. Thousand Oaks location near the movie theater. I tried to pay my bill in the store and was directed the kiosk. I told the clerk I had to pay at the counter because I needed the change back. After scanning my bill, I handed over three $100 bills. I was told they had no change in the cash drawer and I would have to leave the $75 as credit towards my next bill. I declined and told them if I had wanted to do that, I would have paid at the kiosk, since no change given there. They just repeated themselves over and over, saying there is no change in the drawer and offered no other alternative even though there were two other clerks nearby at their registers. I grabbed my bill, and left the store. I later paid my bill at the Simi Valley location without any issue. read more

I needed to have better Wifi as I am working on sets and truly needed to work, make phone calls even when we are on location. I seemed to always have trouble getting reception with my new Spectrum Service...when we go to "out of the way" locations. I had just switched to Spectrum Mobile as it was much cheaper than AT&T...who was charging me $230 a month for my phone line and my two teens. (way too much I thought...) and Spectrum was $95 a month so as a single mom...that sounded WAY better...but the honest truth was that I had a TON of problems with my service for about 5 months i used Spectrum. Everything was faulty, it was a constantly shutting down, glitching, taking me offline, messing with my wifi....I was going crazy and when I would call in...they would see the VERY long list of problems I had, switching out sim cards and even asking for management to call me to apologize -but sadly, they never did. That was very disappointing I must say. The Managers didn't seem to care, and I suffered through with awful service and some days not having my phone service work at all. I felt I deserved something more....some respect for me-for treating a customer right, for caring....for having an actual high up manager call and ask me, gthe customer what has happened...what can we do better? How can we make this right? But that call never came and my service still doesn't work as well as AT&T did, I have learned since then that Spectrum Verizon has less "towers" and that is why I cannot ever get a signal when I am out on location or trying to make phone calls. Apparently AT&T have way more, thus the better connections and service....but again, a pricey choice. I think it truly is sad that after all of the trouble I had with my phone service...not ONE manager had the motivation to call me personally and apologize or even try to make it right. I was paying for a service that was not working -The hours I have spent in Spectrum Mobile stores and on the many, many, phone calls to customer service-well, it would total up to 40+ hours I am sure!!! Such a shame companies just don't give that personal, "how can we help you" connection and Spectrum....I think you should look up my account and have a manager call me. You have put me througfh stress, missed phone calls, almost getting in trouble at work because my phone was not working and my boss was trying to call me....It is not ok for you to promise a service...and then not deliver. read more

I waited about 45 minutes for someone to help me. On a Sunday they had 2 people working. All I was doing was returning a modem. I finally made my return, took about 30 seconds. Within 15 minutes of me leaving the store, I started getting emails "thank you for activating your Spectrum Mobile phone." Someone at Spectrum stole my name and address from their computer system and somehow opened a brand new Spectrum mobile account using my information at a store 2 hours away from where I was in Riverside, CA. They bought 2 iPhones at $1099 each using my name and address. I returned to the Thousand Oaks store as soon as I realized what was happening. They did nothing to help me and told me to call a phone number for Spectrum Mobile. I called the phone number 3 separate times and each time, they told me to DRIVE TO THE STORE IN RIVERSIDE to correct the issue. Unbelievable. I had to file a police report with the Ventura County Sheriff, freeze my credit, freeze my NCTUE data. Wasted my entire Sunday. I plan on switching providers and not doing any more business with Spectrum. read more
