We had a sewer line spill in our crawl space, it was real bad situation and right before Thanksgiving. If you think the day your home or business suffers a catastrophic event is a bad day, I've got news for you if you end up contacting Speedy Restoration, Inc., to assist in the recovery, your bad days are just a long string of weeks and months. Our building's basement was flooded on Dec. 13, 2019, due to a massive sprinkler system break in an adjacent building. One of the owners of another building which was also impacted referred us to Speedy. We contacted Speedy Restoration, Inc., and they came and started working over the weekend. We provided them with our insurance information. During the coming days, Speedy asked us to sign work authorization with a blank estimate. We told them we needed an estimate, but were never provided one. By comparison, the document restoration company did provide us an estimate when they came to assess and completed the work within that range. After a couple of weeks, we were able to work in the building again. There were still tasks to be completed as part of Speedy's assignment, but at least we were in. Sadly, it was January and we had no heat for the longest time. Why? Speedy sent subcontractors not qualify to do the work to install the furnace. Ultimately our furnace had to be replaced because the installation failed twice. The first time, it would not start. Speedy sent another contractor who said the first contractor had installed the wrong size. The one installed by the second contractor started leaking a substantial amount of water. Yet another person came, said something had to be adjusted, and left without testing it. Every time we would turn on the furnace, water would hose all over the basement. While we requested another contractor, Speedy insisted they had to send the same one because of warranty issues. When told we would hire our own contractor and notify our insurance company, another person from Speedy came out and noticed the contractor had connected it wrong and the exhaust tubes were not even connected. Finally, another subcontractor came and fixed it. By February, the sheetrock had not been replaced, but we a bill had been sent to both us and our insurance company. After seeing Speedy's initial invoice for about $140,000, our insurance adjustor asked for additional information from Speedy. Based on that information, the insurance determined that Speedy was entitled to just about half of what they had requested. During the negotiations between our insurance representative and Speedy, the insurance company paid the undisputed amount of the bill. And Speedy placed a mechanic lien against our company. Keep in mind, they were dealing with insurance directly and not us. Eventually, Speedy and the insurance company settled on an amount (about $105,000), and Speedy has been made whole. But still Speedy has a mechanic lien against our company. We have contacted Speedy repeatedly since they received final payment. Our insurance rep has tried to help propel Speedy to act. But still Speedy has a mechanic lien against our company. And ignores our requests to get it removed. TL/DR Stay away from this company. They are unethical, use cheap labor, charge insurance far more than what they are entitled to and ruin your reputation. read more

It's hilarious that Speedy keeps sending me the link to write a review considering it was such a horrendous experience! I hire them to remediate mold from my personal belongings, pack them, and take them to my storage unit. The women they sent walked in and started packing without remediating anything. Luckily I was watching on my security cameras and called them out on it. I also watched them do a crappy job remediating what they did do. The packing was awful, with every box more than half empty and the contents just thrown in. They didn't label the boxes correctly because they don't speak English and don't know what the items (or even ROOMS are called). The movers didn't bother to cover my furniture when in the truck, even though I saw the stack of paper blankets sitting there. They trashed my furniture, and a lot of things were missing when I finally unpacked. They GROSSLY overcharged me and then sent someone after me for the money when I wouldn't pay. Avoid this company at all costs!!! The only competent person there is Susie and she is stretched so thin, she can't keep up with all the problems. read more

Called speedy restoration to come in for what appeared to be mold. At this point I had already called and gotten another consultation with a mold company who claimed $3400 in mold remediation. Suzi came in same day and was an ABSOLUTE God sent! She initially told me that what I was looking at was not mold but mildew and the previous quote was completely wrong. We had a recent leak from our water main which resulted in some dampness under our crawlspace, and I was concerned about the potential for sitting water as well as mold. Gus inspected the crawlspace and said there was no damage, and that the moisture level was low enough to not be concerned about mold. He said he could expedite the drying with fans, but that it should dry up on its own. He also didn't charge us for the inspection. This company is Horrible; their coworkers are not professional (stole my valuable stuff at my old house), and their onsite manager, Gustavo Lainez always cheating on their customers, such as my old house (20-years old, two-story single family home with 1,800 square feet) accidently got water damaged by the toilet broken water hose couple years ago. It's referral by our insurance agent to deal with this company, it's our first time to deal with onsite manager, Gustavo Lainez from Speedy Restoration. After they teared off and removed all damaged dry walls of the whole house, The onsite manager, Gustavo Lainez called me up by phone, and told me that, "The whole house have poison moss, needs to be remove instantly. It costs $6,850 to do the treatment." In fact, I got a Bay Area Local Poison Moss Testing Company to collect all air samples at my old house in different locations (I spent $850 for the fee; 1st testing spot is $500, and then $75 for each extra testing spot), the results came out is negative at all. Speedy coordinated with our plumbers to extract the pooling mess and gave access that enabled the replacement of entire line. Once the plumbers were done, Speedy dried out and sanitized the entire area, groomed and sloped the dirt. In addition, they cleaned areas surrounding the crawl space access and patio. Let me describe Speedy Restoration (Gus, Project Manager) in a few simple words: - UNPROFESSIONAL - DISHONEST - ARROGANT Our saga started with calling them after Christmas weekend and they were eager to come and start the work. They set up all the equipment, measured everything, and started ripping out. I have to say they were very professional upfront. However, the nightmare started when we asked them for an estimate. It took them 30days to even provide a mitigation estimate to us and to the INSURANCE which was filled with line ITEMS which they NEVER performed. In fact, the project manager, GUS, gave me a lecture about our at-home jobs (and on all kinds of unprofessional topics) for JUST asking for estimates. We have an infant and obviously dealing with flooding in our house. Our experience was just terrible. On numerous occasions, we tried to professionally resolve the matter for them to adjust the estimate but to no avail. Never again! After a what seemed like a normal discussion over the phone mid afternoon with Joe (said they were closeby and could come asap but I wasn't able to do that moment, asked what's the situation details, etc) we made an appointment for the following morning to assess water damage from a leaking outside wall. I was texted later the same day asking for photos of the "wet area" which I sent of the dining room floor when I got home about 10pm, I was then asked to confirm the city and when I replied "yes, on Hancock* street", the reply was "han what street?". At which point I canceled my appointment. I am seriously creeped out and would never under any circumstances suggest someone allow this person into their home. I'm somewhat concerned that I gave them my address. Got some text the next morning saying they thought I was an employee and that's why they replied that way. This whole thing is so far out of line.
