Speedy Restoration wasn't the cheapest but we went with them because Suzy was honest with us, she took the time to explain everything, and they were thorough in figuring out what needs to happen. Unfortunately we did end up having some mold and the team sent us pictures (we aren't mold experts so honestly don't know what we were looking at) but it was nice to have someone honest enough that they are sharing pictures which you could prob get a second opinion on if you so choose. We discovered a leaky water heater had caused water damage and what appeared to be mold growth in a wall between our garage and living room, and had also leaked pretty significantly in the crawlspace underneath. Came home to standing water in our kitchen/family room after a five-day trip away. I literally didn't even know where to start but I'm glad I found Speedy Restoration on Yelp. Two hours later that same evening (Sunday night) a team from Speedy was at our house and began mitigation efforts. I only have positive things to say about the entire team: Suzi and the full team came the very next day and ramped up mitigation. They brought even more equipment to continue drying our waterlogged house. Gus, the project manager, came for estimation and explained things very well. I wanted this to be a one contractor job, so Gus extended the contract to include ceiling painting and toilet seat ring fix. A year ago my laundry room flooded due to a bad washer door gasket leak that wasn't stopped in time as I was away at work and my wife was busy taking Zoom calls in her home office...Fast forward a year later, I was in the garage and I noticed couple brownish clouds forming on my garage ceiling directly beneath my laundry room which got me suspecting whether my subfloor was affected by water damage and mold buildup. So since I wrote the last review things had gotten much worse! I wish I can give this company ZERO stars. I don't understand all the great reviews for this company. Why were we treated differently? Was it because we didn't have the kind of money his other clientele had? A few hours after writing my first review, the owner Rafael Ortega or Joe (whatever he wants to call himself) told our project manager Jeff he didn't want to continue doing the repairs on our home. I was notified this via text by our project manager. (See my attached screenshot text) This was so unprofessional! I don't understand why the owner never came to our house to inspect the work that his men did. We complained to Jeff how horrible of a paint job it was the day after they painted. Jeff even took pictures of all the walls and we kept asking him when this will be fixed & finished. But apparently our job was not profitable enough for them to finish. Yet we received an invoice of $1500 for the paint that we complained for them to fix and finish. That is an outrageous amount of money to charge for a job we were not satisfied with and not completed! Where is the 100% satisfaction guarantee in that? To top it off the owner put a lien on our house! This owner has no business ethics whatsoever. Also, be cautious of checking your invoice! They sent us the final invoice that included an item that we already paid for on the first invoice we paid them. We were also overcharged for the storage pods that was rented because they didn't deduct $500 that was already paid in the first invoice! After sending them a few emails since September we finally got a revised invoice last week that adjusted those items. This company is so shady! We finally got to move back last week since we had to hire new contractors. Which should of been a happy time for us but unfortunately was not! While we witnessed the movers opened the storage pods, we were outraged & shocked to see the condition our furniture was in. There were several broken & scratched furniture. It was overly packed & not protected with blankets or anything. The moving company's employees even commented how badly Speedy packed our belongings! My husband emailed Michelle last week in regards to our broken furniture because she is the one who sent us the "revised" invoice. Phoned Speedy Restoration on a Saturday and spoke with Elias who made an appointment to come to my home for an estimate for the following Monday at either 10 am or 11 am. Monday came and went at the time specified and they never showed up. I sent them a text telling them I had to go to work and couldn't wait for them any longer. They called back while I was in the shower but didn't bother to leave a voicemail to explain why they didn't show up or if we could reschedule. Don't bother. As soon as we confirmed that a plumber wouldn't be able to go into the space because it was too wet we knew we needed a restoration company. They took incredible care of our home, laying down plastic everywhere (looked like a crime scene) and taking extra precaution not to touch or disturb anything. After learning that we are not going to hire them for the next phases of the work(we just want to end the nightmare with them), they cut our floor in a way that was completely unnecessary. I was introduced to Speedy Restoration from a plumber that I've worked with to help me with finding out what's behind my stained ceiling. Speedy Restoration promptly send Guz to my residential location to inspect and plan for my next steps. Back in February 2019 the Bay Area was hit with a storm that lasted a few days. Unfortunately, I was affected by the storm with debris that ended up blocking my roof drains. Why was this bad? Well, I have a flat room and the blockage ended up causing a pool of water that was over a foot deep, which lead to the water entering my home through the vents. Water came dripping down from all my light fixture causing a flood of water inside my house! I had no idea who I needed to call to get things fixed, so I called my cousin also my real estate agent for her advice and recommendation and she referred me to Speedy Restoration. I'm glad she did! We called Speedy Restoration for a leaking water dispenser, and were immediately called back by Susie, after explaining my concerns, we both felt that the damaged may not need actual water mitigation, Susie walked me through the process over the phone on how to check for possible damage. Needles to say the only thing affected was a 2x2 area of carpet and pad. I removed the pad and set a fan to dry the carpet. Susie then offered to come the following day to make sure everything was dry. At no charge!!! Wow, who does that.
