I'm just going to tell you, I do not like Mexican food at all. I never have, until 2014. We went to Jalisco for my daughter's graduation, and we found this ultra tiny place on the beach that had the best Mexican dish I've ever eaten in my life. So it's gonna be pretty hard to get me to love an Americanized version of what I had that day. Speedy's did it! I am extremely skeptical of all Mexican restaurants in the US, and Speedy's was no different. I ordered Tacos el Pastor expecting the typical, "They have no idea what the hell they're doing when it come to authentic Mexican food" I was SO wrong!! Everything we ate here, from the chips and white queso to the Tacos el Pastor were just phenomenal to me, for US Mexican. I doubt I'll ever love another US Mexican restaurant like I love Speedy's. I love going to Speedy's! It has become a Friday tradition for us to go there with our family. The staff is so welcoming and friendly. I've had lots of waiters and the majority of them are attentive and polite but every now and then there will be one who just doesn't meet my standards. The chips are great (especially when they are hot!) The queso is cheesy and my favorite in the Tulsa area. The fajita beef and chicken are well seasoned and tender, I do however find the beef superior. The tortillas are under par and clearly storebought. I highly recommend you try out Speedy's you won't be dissapointed! read more

First time to visit and the parking lot was packed, as expected on Friday night at 7. Got a table fairly quickly, but rest of the service was pitiful. The person who sat us brought us chips and dip. Then got busy bussing tables and delivering plates. Three other waiters were working the room. Several parties were seated around us, had drinks and food before us. On top of that, they ran out of salsa bowls and queso bowls. How can that happen in a Mexican restaurant which obviously is a local favorite? Food was good. Maybe I need to avoid weekends. read more

Good food. Shredded beef chimi and carne asada street tacos both scored very well. Service was good as well. We dined outside of peak time, so our order came up very quickly. We were unsure whether we should go to the counter to pay or if the waiter would bring the bill to us. When we saw him go outside to straighten up the patio we just went to the counter to pay and all was well. Don't sit behind the divider if you want prompt refill service. They do have HUGE cups for their soft drinks, so it wasn't a problem for us. Pepsi soft drinks. Chips and salsa are complimentary only if you order a dinner. We've seen this place a few times driving by on our way through town and decided to stop. Delicious! I had ground beef tacos and the taco meat was very light and not heavy in sauce like a lot of places. It was basic but well seasoned. The roasted corn was phenomenal! We got a large queso and should've went with the small because we had a ton leftover for just 2 of us. Our server was a young teenager who told us she had only been working there a week or two but the service was excellent! It was a tad pricier than what we normally spend on Mexican food but it stayed busy the whole time we were there, which is saying a lot during a pandemic. They have the best salsa! I am usually please with the amount of food when we eat in. It is always plenty but when we have fajitas for carry out or pick up, they fill the box with onions and not a much chicken. I just want to get my money's worth. read more

We were driving through from Dallas to Tulsa, and stopped because the kids were hungry. It was incredible. Wow. Everything we had was good. My son had the street tacos. I steak had a great flavor. They have some hot chili verde salsa that's not on the menu that's awesome....but it's HOT! I will also add that the brisket street tacos are freaking amazing. Best tacos I've ever had. read more

Went there for the first time on Sunday. We got in an hour before they closed. Service was quick as was the turnaround time on the food. Food was good and the option to go ala carte was appreciated. Meat was tender and the white queso was really good. We'll be returning next time we get a craving for Mexican. read more

Speedy's is ok. There is nothing special on the menu. It is you typical "gringo" Mexican place. It's ok not great.

So Speedy's has always held a relatively high standard when it comes to how they make their food. The service is always good. I've never had any complaints. And with the remodel, they've really given the place a facelift. But recently I've had my suspicions that they got a new chef. For most restaurants this can be a very bad thing, especially when the food was already so good. Not for Speedy's, though. The last two times I have gone here, the food wasn't just very good, it was probably some of the best Mexican food I've ever had, and I used to live in New Mexico. They've taken something that was already very good, and made it fantastic, for a price this is more than affordable for most. So kudos to Speedy's for going the extra mile. You've got a customer for as long as I'm living in Oklahoma. read more

Speedy's has been located in Glenpool for a long time. It offers a fun Mexicali environment with good customer service and good prices. The food is good quality and offers a good selection. All in all if you're looking for a fun dining experience I recommend Speedy's. read more

This joint is excellent, and certainly lives up to it's name. The waitstaff is very friendly and the most impressive thing is how well they all help each other. Just sitting in a booth and watching them work-bringing out plates of food, getting refills for the other's table-that stuff is impressive. And all with a smile. And it really doesn't hurt that the food is delicious. I've had many enchiladas in my day(much to my wife's chagrin), and there is nowhere that does them better in Tulsa or the surrounding areas. And seriously...their quesadillas... Not even Los Cabos(where a meal like the one we got last night would be closer to $40 instead of the $28 we spent) can make better quesadillas....I highly recommend getting them with fajita meat. You will not regret it. In any way. Ever. If I can offer one small criticism, it's their queso. It could be a little more spicy. But, I admit that is my own personal preference for queso, not everyone is a heat lover. Luckily, their salsa compliments it perfectly, so when you mix them, you get what to me, is the perfect queso. This place is one step above fast food (it's not a fancy restaurant) yet three adults got out of there by ordering enchilada platter (9.95) and a taco plate (10.50) and a fajita plate (11.50) an $8 and $11 drink for a total of $76.50. It took them close to 30 minutes to wait on us after we arrived so now I understand why they figure in the tip as part of the bill. The ULTIMATE margarita was the size of a red bull can and WEAK. It was 11.00. Was there even alcohol in it? This is themed a Mexican restaurant but had no tomato juice for a clamato ... hmmm I had the worst Bloody Mary ever. It was $8.00. We will absolutely ... positively ... and most assuredly NEVER go there again. The waitress was kind and kept our drinks filled. We still can't figure why she was working there ... she was good. If you like more authentic Mexican food as opposed to Tex-Mex and you like a good value, you can't go wrong with Speedy's. They had their problems in 2012 and 2013, but they really have their act together, now. Great food, great service and VERY reasonable prices. I live in Glenpool and I am really glad they are here. I really hate writing this because Speedy has been one our long time favorite restaurants in Glenpool. And we just ate there tonight 8/11/12 and I guess it has changed hands. The food was so bad and greasy that nobody in my family could finish there meals, we all ordered different things , nobody had the same thing and it was all bad. Could not even take it home to feed the dog it was that bad. What a shame. read more
