Stopped here today while driving back toward I-5 on my road trip from Seattle to San Francisco and honestly it turned out to be such a great random stop in Redding. The place was busy with mostly locals (always a good sign), but everything still ran smoothly. My server Jaggi P really made the experience. He was on top of everything without being pushy -- checking in at the right times, making sure I had what I needed, and just genuinely attentive. The service alone made this place stand out. Food came out super quick, which I appreciated after being on the road all day. I ordered goat curry (medium), spicy naan, cucumber raita, and onion salad. The curry was flavorful and comforting, naan had a nice kick, and everything tasted fresh. Portions were perfect for one person, filling but not heavy. Quality, quantity, and price were all really solid. The restaurant itself was very clean and well kept, which I always notice right away. Prices were also really reasonable for what you get. Only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because I've tried a lot of Indian food in different cities, and while this was definitely better than many spots, it didn't quite hit that "best I've ever had" level. Still, it's absolutely worth stopping if you're passing through. Funny thing after about 8 PM the area started feeling like a ghost town but inside was warm, welcoming, and lively. Needed a quick lunch, going south on I-5. This place is amazing! Appropriate name! The spices in each dish were perfectly balanced. The snack variety appetizer was excellent. I don't usually get fried food however this was worth an exception. You get 2 of each snack and a large samosa. This would have been enough for the 2 of us but we had ordered a main dish too, coconut kurma. It came with lovely aromatic rice. The naan was also perfect. All this was served quickly. We were able to get back on the road, very happy about our new discovery. We will be returning on our trip back! Can't wait! read more

The location is easy to access ambiance is good under new management. Surprisingly the chicken biriyani was good for the North Indian style and as always its sweet too. While talking about service there is not much we experienced but food came in time and as always they don't smile. Authentic North Indian cuisine, and probably the best butter chicken in the North State to be found here! Their spice levels are definitely adjusted for an Americanized palate: if you want a standard mild Indian level spice make sure to order at least medium spice level here and above. Excellent samosas (crispy on the outside while perfectly spiced potato masala on the inside), onion bhaji, veggie and chicken pakoras. The papadums are a bit too charred/overly toasted both times I ordered them but deliciously fragrant and thankfully not greasy; rose lassi was delicate in flavor while the mango lassi was a bit punchier/stronger in flavor. All of the lamb dishes were seasoned wonderfully, not gamey but tender. Chettinad kolee, chicken vindaloo, and biryani were all delicious. Brought multiple friends here and each time the food was consistently delicious, flavors are on point! If you have a large group be sure to get the bread basket - it includes one each of the onion and garlic naan, and two of the plain naan. All of them are pillowy on top and crispy on the bottom, and perfect for sharing! I would request less toasted if you're worried about consuming charred foods, the staff are very responsive. The pistachio ice cream is delicious because it is flavored with cardamom; it is dense, creamy, yet delicate at the same time. Definitely an excellent addition to the Redding food scene! It's mostly North Indian cuisine (with the exception of a few dishes like the Chettinad chicken), so for your dosa fix go to Priya off Hartnell. Lovely service by a team of attentive waitstaff and the location is next to Linda's Hallmark where Taj Mahal used to be. If you're a fan of tikka masala--or even if you're not yet--this restaurant is a must-visit. I've had my fair share of Indian food over the years, but nothing compares to the chicken tikka masala here. The sauce was rich, creamy, and perfectly spiced, with just the right balance of tomato, cream, and aromatic spices. It was comforting and bold without being overwhelming. The chicken itself was incredibly tender, clearly marinated and grilled before being simmered in the sauce. Each bite was packed with flavor and depth. This place is great! My partner is RAVING about the food, and I t's the best service I've had in a long time. I think they came 4 times to fill water and ask if we need anything. We moved up here from SoCal, and have been disappointed by the Indian offerings in Redding. My partner got the Chicken Tikka Masala, and thinks it might be the best that he's had anywhere. The "medium spicy" here seems like the "mild spicy" in most Indian places. We got onion naan and spicy naan. They looked great, but not very flavorful. My onion one mostly tasted buttery, so it was still good. It had a fantastic texture. Soft on top and crispy on the bottom. They have a vegan/vegetarian section on the menu. Everything that is vegan is clearly marked. Everything that has dairy or nuts is clearly marked. I love this, since I'm vegan and my partner is not. It makes ordering for me so much easier than asking the waiter a bunch of questions. My biggest disappointment is that they won't make a vegan Tikka Masala or Butter Masala. Those are my absolute favorite Indian dishes, and really are the main reason I go out for Indian food at all. My favorite places in SoCal made them with coconut milk instead of cream upon request, to make them vegan. They would make the sauce and allow you to choose to add tofu or vegetables (I always choose vegetables.) I crave the masala sauce all the time. If anyone that owns this restaurant is listening, PLEASE do this. I'll come way way WAY more often! I still plan to come back and try other offerings in the meantime. The food is fairly priced, but the portions seemed a bit on the smaller side to me. My partner says they're average portions, so maybe it seems that way to me because this is one of the only times I got a meal that wasn't heavy with coconut milk. We visited about 2 months ago, we absolutely loved Taj Mahal but were open minded, and the food is horrible with spices not correct for "authentic and traditional flavors", tiny tiny portions for the cost-this is my first time eating at an Indiah restaurant and my burnt naan was extra cost, and the atmosphere was too clinical with the bright lights, no running indian movies or music videos, too many all male staff waiters with little to no focus on costumer service, Mukhwas mixture was gross making me feel like I want to brush my teeth instead of fresh breath; the exact opposite of why it's there. I removed the oil on top when I opened the masala container, but as I kept eating more and more oil appeared, I couldn't finish it. Disgusting. We came here on a recent trip to Redding in August with a long time friend who wished to try this restaurant. The service was reasonably good and the staff was friendly and helpful. The food was very good! The one dish that perplexed me was their Tandoori Chicken, it was good, but it came covered in wet sauce. Hmm! Oct 2025 Update: We've had food from here several times now. When they first opened we tried them in those first couple weeks for dine-in. Notably the butter chicken was rich, flavorful, and easily the best in Redding. The other items we tried (samosa, onion bhaji, lamb, naan, chai etc) were amazing too. After that time, we did take out a few times & recommended to friends in town. A month ago our online order didn't go through and we ended up waiting 40+ minutes for our food as despite talking to them immediately when we got there, they did not realize our order hadn't gone through until 20 mins into us waiting. We tried to just cancel the order, and the owner not only canceled, but apologized, gave us a full refund and gave us the meal on the house. We got tikka that time and although at that point was disappointed in the overall experience, couldn't deny that it was delicious. Tonight we decided to give them another chance as I was craving a good butter chicken. We did take out and when my husband got home with it, as soon as I opened the lid I knew it smelt different. The best way to describe is it smelt like hot water mixed with hot sauce. We tasted and it was watery and lacked the flavors of before, which was disappointing. We called and let them know and took it back for a new one, and they gave us the same thing and said that was their butter chicken. Having had it before, while I'm sure it was a genuine error as everyone makes mistakes, or has a bad day, it for sure was not their normal standard of taste. I'd say it was a 4/10, not horrible but not good. And in the past was 10/10. After I shared that feedback on here, the owner reached out immediately and offered to make it right. He personally delivered a freshly made meal! Which was above and beyond. This time the butter chicken was good. But we did get far too many late night and early morning texts/calls about it. Oct 2025: Decided to give them another chance today. I have had their butter chicken a couple times and it was rich and delicious. This one didn't taste anything like butter chicken- theirs from the past, or in general. My husband called and told them we got the wrong thing and went back for a new order- but we got the same thing again! We showed them it, and they said it was their butter chicken. I am Indian, have had tons of butter chicken all my life, and have had theirs before too. What we got today was watery, and barely any flavor. Consistency, color, flavor and smell were all off. I'm genuinely sad as this was the first good Indian food I had tasted in Redding, outside of home-cooked. As a side note, the naan was good. Sept 2025: Will definitely give them another try. But please consider suggestions! Firstly, I would love to see this restaurant succeed. Redding and its surrounding areas are in need of a place like this, and the person who seems like either an owner or co-owner struck me as a genuinely good person. We ordered online around 1:30pm. Got there after our pick up time for a simple order. When we asked about it, the front desk said he'll check if it's ready- then never came back. Fifteen minutes later, we asked a 2nd time, he said there'd been a glitch and they never got our order. Feedback: Efficiency will be a game-changer if you want to stay popular beyond just the local indian community. A few suggestions 1. Staffing. Have two front desk hosts on busy hours. Have enough people for packaging food, taking calls, managing front desk. Don't overthink on ethnicity being authentic for those roles- they just need to be friendly and efficient. Hire for personality, and train them in efficiency. 2. Overstaff on public holidays. It's better to send people home early than risk chaos. Or if you don't have the staffing, close and enjoy the holiday. It's ok to close sometimes and better to close and keep your reputation & lose out on the sales for that day. 3. Temperature. The restaurant too warm in there to be convinced that food prep and storage meets safety regulations. Figure out how to keep it much cooler than it is, both for customer comfort and food safety. 4. Seating for waiting guests. Have bar stools inside or benches outside where they can sit. Get them out of the way of incoming customers. 5. Have a clearly marked shelf next to the desk for pick up orders. 6. Balance dine-in and take-out. 5-6 parties were seated and began to be served before our issue was even caught, even though we asked right as we entered. 7. My biggest recommendation: Operations. Research restaurant-specific operations and how to improve efficiency. Sometimes with the exact same people, time, and resources, things can run 10x more smoothly with the right operations plan. A consultant, a good book or two, or classes on this could transform things. Take a research trip even, to top similar places in Sacramento- see how they do things, ask good questions. As for the food- it was good, and this place is worth succeeding! We wish you the best. read more

Staff was very nice. Ordering on Toast was easy, and there were four spice level choices. The Aloo Gobi was excellent, and had more cauliflower than potatoes (just how we like it). The Chicken Tikka Masala and Mattar-E-Mushroom were flavorful and wonderful. The side of mango chutney was sweet, flavorful, and not hot. Both the Garlic Naan and Onion Naan were tasty and first rate. We look forward to trying other dishes, and zooming in on which will be our regular favorites. read more
