I love Indian food and this was right close to my work. I decided to try it during my lunch. It's a little confusing because it had the grocery store and then the restaurant on the other side. I told the lady I wanted a combo plate so she redirected me to the restaurant side. The gentleman helped me with my order and I told him I wanted a combo to go. I told him what I wanted and he served me. When he rung me up, he had charged me for a buffet!!! WHAT! Based on the reviews, I thought they did combo plates to go not charge a whole buffet price. He had already served me so I didn't want to say never mind so I paid. I paid $16 for a buffet and a mango lassi. Very overpriced for the amount of food I got. I was hoping it would be at least good but it was okay, I've had better Indian food. I was disappointed. Their mango lassi was good though. Walked in this place today with my husband for the first time, one of the workers there approached us to show us around the lunch buffet, as we were looking at the food my husband looked at the wall above the buffet and a disgusting ROACH was on the wall right above the all the food. The Dahl is spot on super good. Naan is so fresh and very well made. The vegetable concoction the day I went had "pickled" (what looked like zucchini) and okra and was super yummy. Saw the Spice Jar sign while doing shopping and told my family that we needed to try it. We did, and we are hooked! Before we even placed our order, the extremely nice owner -Paul - asked us which type of naan we prefer (garlic or plain) so that the kitchen can make it fresh!!!! ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, Curry Cauliflower and Chicken Curry. As we began to seat ourselves, Paul come out with 2 huge baskets of fresh naan! Definitely a must try. The tikka was extremely flavorful and perfect for dipping that fresh naan bread. You can also order it spicy which I recommend! My husband ordered the same combo however he ordered the eggplant which was also delicious. Paul was eager to answer any of our questions about the products in the store and also gave us samples of traditional Indian snacks. This unique little spot has a lot to offer so don't pass it up! Both three item combos had generous portions all for $17 and some change. Nice to find a great Indian food spot where the food is flavorful and delicious but surpassed only by the genuine kindness and enthusiasm of the owner. Like, I don't think anyone can understand my love for Indian food lol i work out at the 24 hour fitness that's in the same shopping plaza as this restaurant but never noticed it until my brother discovered it one day and ever since I've become obsessed with Indian food. We thought it would be a market type place with take out but noticed it said wait service. We ended up going. Looks like they expanded into neighboring suite. Beautiful, clean, open, upbeat.
