We told him what we had been told the problem was and he went right to work repairing it and seemed to know just how to take apart our Electrolux front loader washer. He spent maybe an hour on it but when he got it back together the latch wouldn't work. He had to order a part and wouldn't charge us yet for the pump he'd replaced. He came by as soon as he got the replacement latch and would have come Sunday even if he had gotten it in. But in a few days he was back with the new part and I'm not sure he even charged us for it. Went with the Spin Doctor based off the 5 star reviews however I didn't experience that. Red flags from the start. Double booked my appointment and when David realized that, he called to reschedule however the day he suggested didn't work for me and he agreed to keep our original appointment and arrive earlier. He had still added me to his schedule for the day that I had told him did not work for me and said he did see our original appointment and noted the earlier time. Day of appointment I waited from 8am-10am with no call from David. When I had called, he said he was on another job but would be at my house between 11-12. He mis-diagnosed our clothes Dryer blowing fine on all timer settings, but no heat coming out, just normal air. It was the electric dryer heater coil unit needed replaced, in fact it had parts of the coil and coil mounts on the floor of the dryer right there to see, very obvious, and also the most likely repair for no heat. Instead he said it was the timer. Looking online, the pros say this is almost never the cause of dryer blowing, but with no heat. He said it wasnt providing voltage to the heater. hmmm. Tried a new timer, turned it on and dryer sparked in the lower back with another ringlet falling from the broken heater coil. No more trying this guy any further. Not safe to even turn it on at that point. So...Blew 120.00, my head is spinning from this spin doctor, and my wallet hurts. I then went to 5 Star and they handled the job well, 2nd time I used them, both good. Stay away from this guy, he just is out of it, he was a nice old guy, but nogo. read more

What a great experience! David is really great at what he does. He figured out my laundry machine issue in just a few minutes of tinkering and was a lovely guy to chat with. I also learned a lot about my machine so that I may be able to do any future repairs myself. We have had David come to your house twice for our GE refrigerator/freezer. Both times he came in the evening on short notice. The first time he replaced the fan, the second time replaced the water inlet valve. He has been able to determine the problem with a quick phone conversation, arrives with the parts and tools needed for repair and is finished within a couple hours. He is an extremely nice older gentleman and very knowledgeable. Within one minute of diagnostics, he knew that our inverter was bad on our GE refrigerator. Since he asked what was going on when we talked on the phone, he had an idea of what the problem may have been and picked up the part prior to arriving at our house. He also had a motherboard, just in case. Sure enough, he replaced the inverter and all was working 100% again. What I really liked about David is that he has empathy for Customers during emergency situations. If your refrigerator is bad, he will make it a priority to come fix it as soon as possible. In my case, Saturday afternoon. But he said that he often comes on Sundays and evenings. Note that I originally called GE Appliance Repair to come on Friday between 1:00 and 5:00. My wife took the day off of work and waited until 4:30 when they texted that they are on their way. After 6:30, still no one arrived and the office was closed. Contrast that to Spin Doctors Appliance Repair, whereby David personally answered his phone (except when he is driving, so leave a message) and came when he said he would. David did a great job at a very reasonable price. I tipped David $40 since I definitely would have paid more IF the GE Appliance Repair person would have ever shown up. David came to my home to fix my very old dryer. I had a great experience. We spoke on the phone Thursday, and he told me he had been sick and behind on requests - I thought that mean he would not be able to come out for a week. He asked if Saturday morning would work. I was pleasantly surprised! He called me Saturday morning to let me know when he would arrive - he had basically diagnosed the problem with my dryer before arriving and picked up the necessary parts at the store beforehand. He was professional and thorough - answered my questions and even inspected my washer! He was a true handyman. He investigate two components to diagnose the problem, and replaced my thermostat. All in all, it took him just over an hour and cost me just over $100. Can you beat that price? This guy is the real deal. He is not in it to make money - forget about swindling. The owner and expert, Dave has done a couple of jobs for me. He fixed my fridge that had a compressor failure then a year later fixed my second fridge that had a failed automatic defrost board failure. He is prompt, thorough and charges very fair prices. He is not really the chatty type as I found out when I called him and started with introducing myself, then asking how his day was going..."chirp, chirp". Crickets...! Okay then, let me get to the point! Here are my symptoms and here is the make and model number! He couldn't come until the next day, but he showed up on time and even called to let me know he was in transit so I could expect his arrival. He is very thorough. He didn't guess what needed to be fixed, but rather tested each piece of equipment along the way until he found the culprit. I was running short on time before I had to depart for work and he was able to " ballpark" my repair costs...within 23 cents. Part, labor, tax. When I wrote the check for 23 cents over he told me he owed me quarter! That just proved to me the integrity of this man. His work is guaranteed for a year. He is not cut rate nor cutthroat. He takes pride in his work and even gave me an education on what happened and how the circuit board works. ( I asked!). He does all appliance repairs and I highly recommend him. It's refreshing to have an experienced, hard working repairman who is not here to sell me crap I don't need or a line of B.S.to pad his pocket books and ego. He keeps his overhead down by using word of mouth advertising. So this is my word of mouth. Just because he didn't put a bunch of A's in front of his name to get himself at the top of the phonebook ( what's a phonebook?), doesn't mean he gives anything less than A level service! In all honesty, I was looking forward to building a relationship with an appliance guy, especially one that lives so close since I am deploying and would like to have a good option. I will have to look elsewhere. Let me put it this way. Almost every time I talked to David, he was somewhat abrasive, but perhaps its a good thing if the guy knew what he was doing. We will never find out because when I called him at 430pm (supposed to be there between 2 and 4) to get an ETA, he stated, "I'll be there when I get there, I can't get any work done because people keep calling me." When asked, he said he's be there about a quarter after 5 if he could. The bummer for David, I was ready to give him business for a long time. What great service. I had my college age daughter call him to check out a problem with her washing machine. I read all of his positive reviews on Google and he totally lived up to his good reputation. He made a next day appointment with her, came on time, found the problem quickly and charged her $75 (which I deem fair for the services performed) Honestly, You want your kids to learn to handle their household issues on their own but as a parent, you always worry someone will take advantage of them. My mother had referred me to David, when I called him he answered the phone right away. Asked a couple questions and then asked when I would be available. Not only did he come that same day, he came later in the evening since I work late which i really appreciated. Based on all the great reviews on Yelp, I called David to come install a new condenser fan motor on my 16 year old Frigidaire. I called him yesterday afternoon and we agreed 9:00 this morning. However, David would need to get the replacement part first. Some businesses don't open until 9. It's all good. My problem was that around the outside frame of the fridge, just around the freezer, it was HOT to the touch and my ice cream turned to soft serve as well as my perishables in the fridge were perishing. Normally, my milk lasts 10 days to 2 weeks past the date and with this problem, the milk was going bad long before the date. I scooched that thing out from the space in the kitchen and pulled off the cover. LOTS of dust! (When you buy a new fridge, the salesperson NEEDS to tell you to vacuum the coils at least every 6 months!) I did this and while it DID help some, the condenser fan that came with the fridge was not moving and fan blade very hard to turn. David told me that the fridge came with a cheap bearing and we def needed a new motor. So now, fridge working great, I can now go and get more ice cream and milk that won't be going bad. So, yes, David has my vote. If I ever had to have anything repaired, I would def call him. read more

I called David based on the Yelp reviews and am very pleased with his service. He is a true "old school" repairman. He kept me informed about his arrival time and was within the originally quoted window. Even if he was outside of that window, just by giving me the courtesy of a call to let me know a more exact time, that is helpful for planning my day. I explained the problem and he let me know what he thought it could be. Once he zeroed in on the problem, he let me know what it was. He didn't have the exact part, but modified what he had (a fan blade) to fix the freezer. To me this is a sign that he is the type of repairman that is resourceful and smart. I suspect newer guys would have never thought to make it work, but just order the part and make me wait. In fact, I forgot to ask what he thought it would cost to repair my broken freezer and just let him do his thing. He charged for the necessary part and a very reasonable rate for his hour of time. Others might have tried to inflate the bill since the work was already done. I was also impressed that even though he seemed "old school", he still accepted credit cards using Square. Called The Spin Doctor based on other Yelp reviews. David Hatch (The Spin Doctor!) said he could come on the following Saturday.....bonus! I sent him the model number to my dishwasher and told him what it was NOT doing.......working...we made an appointment and like the other reviewers stated......he called to confirm he was on his way for the scheduled appointment. He showed up with the part he suspected needed replacing......love that......told me if it was not the part I would not have to pay for it....... Anyway fixed the dishwasher for 75.00 dollars plus parts. Update...the washer started acting up again a few weeks later......David came right back and added another small part.....at no charge!!! NO additional labor! He is a good old school repairman.....I would recommend to all of my friends. Work and warranty is good for ONE YEAR! The Good: He came out right away-- the same day I called him in fact, which was great. Over the phone he seemed nice and courteous. The Bad: Unlike the other reviewers on here, my experience with this person was totally different. He didn't seem to know what was wrong and I got the impression he didn't know how to fix it, even if he had known what was wrong. He didn't fix anything but still charged me the $35 to come out and take a look... I also got a strange "vibe" off him. It wasn't the good kind of feeling. Instead his presence made me feel uncomfortable, and his demeanor didn't seem as friendly as he'd been over the phone. I'm not sure what happened but it felt like something about his behavior changed... So I called another company who did come out and fix the problem. So in the end I had to pay someone else. David has not only misdiagnosed a repair, purchased the wrong part and blown off an appointment, only making me aware 30 minutes after he was late, he has had to come to the house and wasted a total of 6 hours of my work day for me to sit here without a working washer and I am now having to get my laundry professionally done(I also have a cheap landlord hell bent on fixing what can only be described as an antique washer machine) if you value your time or that of your valuable paying tenants then skip David and call a reputable company-supposedly his work is warrantied but that only means he will keep fixing it on your dime if he makes the wrong guess the first time-what about a refund of my wasted time! read more
