We stopped by as we traveled through the area. We had a Caesar Salad (with Detroit style croutons, yum!), a special order pizza and a draft beer. Everything was fresh and delicious. Detroit style pizza????? Delicious! We wanted to give Detroit style pizza a try and we are happy we did. Upon entering the restaurant the staff greeted and treated me very nicely. The place was very clean and has a good layout for a group or just couples. They offer about a dozen beers on tap with 4 stools at the bar to enjoy them. We ordered a Detroit style pizza to-go. Since the pizza is a thick crust with crispy- crunchy edges, the pie takes a bit longer to bake. So grab a beer while your pizza bakes. It is worth the wait! The thick pizza dough has great flavor and is "airey" and crunchy. The red sauce is your traditional red sauce but they seem to add a good amount of oregano which takes it to the next level. Stopped here as a pit stop to Seattle to get brunch. Found out they are in a soft lunch. Amazing craft selection. Very good pizza. Everything is craft down to the soda. I love it but good to call out. If I went to BSU or lived in the area this would be my go to just about every Sunday. Wow wow wow! We decided to try a new spot for Pizza Friday, I'm not usually a fan of deep dish (too greasy), but we decided on Detroit style Supreme. Ordered thru Doordash, and had our food delivered within an hour. I guess I'm a convert, because this was some damn good pizza! The crust wasn't overly greasy or heavy, and I found myself gravitating toward the corner pieces for the crunchy cheese baked into the crust. Toppings were plentiful - the sausage was fantastic. We ordered the 10x14, and it ended up being a little spendy after the delivery charges and tip, but considering that this will feed us for 2 meals, it was worth it! read more

This place is awesome! Beer menu ummm check! I had the Louis and Clark Hefe: it was clean and refreshing taste with a subtle citrus taste. Pizza! It's good like real good. It's a Fork and Knife kind of pizza. Similar to Chicago style pizza. We also had the pesto cheese bread sticks very very good. The pesto was subtle and fresh. First time trying these guys last night. I ordered a 12" Sausage Roasted Garlic pizza with gluten free crust. First of all - YAY - for having a gluten free crust and second, for having one that is bigger than 8 to 10". Now for the pizza. It was delicious!! Even good the next morning cold. Visiting from out of town and saw this place on Yelp so I figured I'd try it and I must say, I wasn't the biggest fan. The ambience was just a classic pizza place, the ultimate supreme pizza was the best, the cheese bread was not what I would expect and had a weird flavor, The bbq chicken pizza had weird chewy cartilage in it. Wow wow wow, I think this is the best pizza in Boise, without a doubt it's the best deep dish pizza and likely the only Detroit style in all of Idaho. The server was extra chill which equated to him not being very attentive. I didn't really need his attention the majority of the time. If I were there with my kids the service would likely have been an issue. He was very friendly though. He recommended the pizza that I got. There was no beer menu on the table so I ended up just getting water which had no ice. The water was cold at least. I can't wait to bring the family here I think they'll love the pizza too. read more

I really wanted to love Spitfire Pizza, and unfortunately I was more than a little disappointed in my pie. I ordered the Chicken & Roasted Garlic Alfredo pizza for delivery. The pizza had chicken, lovely roasted garlic cloves, Alfredo sauce, bacon, and tomatoes and was surprisingly very bland. I was pretty confounded because how can anything with garlic and bacon be so dull in taste? I don't usually add the crushed red pepper and parm cheese packets to pizza, but I had to in this instance just to get some flavors. The crust, however, was amazing - not too thick but still nice and chewy and crisp on the bottom. I gave them a star just for the crust. I don't think I'll be ordering from Spitfire again anytime soon simply because there are other much tastier options available. read more

The worker was a little rude with the customers in front of me in line, which is always a less than ideal thing to happen on a first experience with a restaurant. The Italian salad was mostly greens but fresh. The meat was sparse and the fresh mozzarella they offered was nowhere to be found. However the balsamic vinaigrette was very tasty and fresh which blended the whole salad together with the sliced peppers. New Year's Eve we were looking for a new place to eat that wouldn't be close to the crowds of downtown and saw that this place had good reviews. We got a couple of beers, ordered our 2 salads and pizza and sat down. There were a few other tables with people but pretty dead inside. The woman who took our order at the counter seemed to be overwhelmed and chaotic despite it not being busy at all. Once seated it started to get a little busier but more than half the tables were empty. We sat for a while before getting our salads (40 minutes to be exact), and our pizza came out 5 minutes later. The salads were nothing special, the pizza was okay. For $50 though we could have eaten somewhere much better. This place is downright stellar. We ordered through Grubhub and had some issues, so I called the restaurant three times trying to figure out the problem. The owner was awesome...so responsive and helpful. He made sure we got our food. We were already grateful but then the food arrived and every bite was perfect. We got the pesto cheese bread, a spinach salad, a pepperoni hand tossed, and a Detroit style pizza (for 2 adults and a toddler...don't judge). It really was exceptional. Detroit style pizza is so so so unique and delicious, and for a long time I thought spitfire pizza was just a place that made Detroit style pizza and that If someone else made it, it would be just as good cause it's the type of pizza it was. Came for the pizza stayed for some sweet trivia. I found myself checking out a new pizza place and while eating was treated to a sweet little trivia event they had going on. The beer selection is pretty good and has lots of local regional beer. An IPA lovers paradise. We ordered a meat pizza and I might have been the only one surprised to see that the pizza was deep dish. I was expecting more traditional new York style pizza. I'm not a huge fan of deep dish, but I'm not going to say no to pizza! Overall for deep dish I was very surprised. The corner pieces were just the best. Tons of flavor and crunchy crust. We are from out of town and so glad we found Spitfire Pizza. First of all, the service was excellent! Very friendly staff who gave great recommendations. We have never had detroit style pizza before and it wad delicious! We got the hot honey basil pepperoni (Detroit) Supreme (Detroit), Emerald (regular) and a regular pepperoni. Their Ceasar salad was probably the best I've ever had. The homemade croutons were amazing and the homemade dressing was incredible. We finished with some Pizza cookies...delish! Worst experience ever. Only 1 guy working. I went to pick up the order for our office and got all the way back to realize they had missed a pizza. Tried calling several times and after awhile they just picked up the phone and just set it down so the phone would stop ringing. When I got back to the restaurant, he knew exactly why I was there and aggressively slid the pizza across the counter. I requested a refund as the pizza likely cold at this point. This ticked him off apparently. When I asked for his name, he said "Worker Bee #1" wow. He gave me my refund and threw the change at me and told me to get the "F" out and proceeded to yell and make a scene. Then he called his own pizza "Shitty" so what does that tell you. This behavior was totally uncalled for and very unprofessional. It isn't my fault he forgot to give me an item I ordered. It wasn't my fault he was the only one working. I DO NOT recommend this place and will never be back! When reached out to the "contact us" section on their website to have the store owner or manager discuss this situation, no response. I grew up In Detroit and I know Pizza. Have you ever had a Detroit style pizza? Maybe you we're in Detroit and had a Buddy's pizza. Well this place has knocked it out Comerica park! Absolutely AWSOME Detroit style pizza. In my opinion exactly the same as Buddy's. This style pizza is so much better than any wood fire pizza in Boise. The best deep dish pizza in Boise and its not even close. I've had the best pizza in Chicago - Lou Malnati's - and this is on par in my opinion. In fact without them being side by side I can't decide which I like better. I've been back 3 times since I found it down the street from work. They're well priced ($25ish for a large-ish size). My wife and I read a number of reviews about this place. We had never had Detroit style Pizza before. All I can say is AMAZING! This is such great pizza and such great staff right here in our back yard. Pizza was very tasty and the crisp edges make it. It's not greasy like Pizza Huts version and I only wish they had one open in Eagle or Meridian. read more
