I love patronizing local places, and am very happy that Spizzico has landed on the Broadneck Peninsula. It's a great menu...I love their arugala salad, meatballs and eggplant parm. It's nice to have pasta dishes beyond the old spaghetti and meatballs. Everything I've gotten here has been pretty tasty. They have a deal on Monday's for a $7 large cheese pizza and you can't beat that. I've mainly had the pizza and the subs and they've been great. Haven't ventured into the pasta dishes but I assume they're tasty too! read more

A great find. That distinctive wood-burning oven pizza flavor. Quality ingredients - like, artichokes that don't taste like they came out of a can and fresh soft ricotta. Super nice folks. Bring your own wine or beer in and they'll supply the opener and the glasses. My only regret is not ordering one of those fresh cannolis that they fill on the spot. We'll be back! read more

After reading one person's review, I have to comment. I have lived in Bay Hills for 11 years and I have eaten at George's 2x's and I will never go back. They are so rude and the food is overpriced and crappy! Now wth that said, we ordered a large pizza, chicken parm sub and mozerella sticks. Everything was fantastic! I loved, loved , loved the pizza and my husband said is chicken parm sub was one of the best he has ever had. And the kids devoured the mozerella sticks! I am so happy they are so close and will be definitley be going back for more! Thanks for a great meal! P.S. We would love to see a chicken parm over pasta on the menu because the sub was that good! read more

Great Italian pizza and sub shop. House made Fettuccine are amazing and the Bolognese sauce reminds me of my mom's and Nonna's. Pizzas are very good, try G's Favorite. Also have great salads and subs. Not a fan of the house chips, but everything else I have had has been excellent. This has become my go-to place. Until last Sunday I would have given this restaurant 5 stars... Food is good and inexpensive, but customer service is the worst. I called in my order and when I got there only have my order was there. The young guy behind the counter just kind of stood there and did nothing. Then another customer comes in and said he got the wrong order...it was mine. The employee then tried to give me the sub that he had given to the wrong customer. I asked for another sandwich and when he told the kitchen staff they all starred at me and laughed.. mind you it was 4:30pm on a Sunday, the place was DEAD. I was told it would take 10 minutes to make another sub, so while I waited, my pizza that was ready when I walked in, sat there and got cold. I applaud this local business. I was lucky enough to sample their penne in vodka sauce they so generously donated to the Magothy River Middle School's band spaghetti dinner fundraiser last evening. It was delicious. My family has eaten here several times and have always enjoyed all items chosen. The fact they so willingly donated these delicious trays of penne makes them #1! Furthermore, I witnessed another youth from school on one occasion ask to speak about donating for a silent auction. The worker didn't hesitate and provided a gift card. Kudos! read more

Ordered the Meatball Sub. The sub came with oily, burnt, limp, dead looking fries that I did not ask for and would not dare to taste. The bread was hard and did not taste fresh. The meatballs weren't bad. They charged me $1.00 more than the menu price, why I don't know. I won't go there again. read more

At first I was very excited about this restaurant opening in our neighborhood. Last night I went in and ordered a small pizza to go and also a lasagna with a salad. The person at the register said it would take around 15 minutes. I decided to go shopping to pick up a few things and assumed when I returned, my food would be ready. When I arrived 15 minutes later, it wasn't ready. It actually took a total of 30 minutes from the time I ordered to get my to go order. It seems it was the pizza that was taking so long. In fact, I didn't see them put it in the oven until 10 minutes after I returned from picking up my items at another store. The ovens are right there in full view, so I was able to watch one of the guys putting pizzas in and checking on them. None of the pizzas looked like my oder. Then when I saw them put in a 12 inch one that had the toppings I asked for, I realized that was mine and watched them continue checking it. So I was sure it was my pizza. I couldn't believe they had not even put it in the oven by the time I came back from shopping. In the meantime, I realized my lasagna and salad were sitting on the counter in a bag the whole 30 minutes while the pizza was being prepared. The cost for the small pizza was around $12.00 and the Lasana was $12.00. The salad was $5.99. When I got home, of course the Lasagna was cold. I had to heat it up. I found the Lasagna to be very bland and very hard on the bottom. I had to cut it with a knife. The pizza was also very tasteless. For the amount of money I spent, I felt the quality of the service and food was pretty bad. For the same amount of money, I could have had a very high-quality pizza and pasta from George's down the sidewalk from Spizzicos. George's also more of a variety for the same cost. I have never had to wait very long for takeout from George's ..... ever. In addition to the poor quality of food, I found Spizzicos to be very chaotic. People were flowing in and weren't sure where to go to order or pick up their take out. Because I was there so long, I felt I was in the way of all of this traffic. We all kept asking each other if we were in the way of each other ordering, etc. People coming in at first lined up behind those of us who were waiting for takeout. We had to end up asking patrons coming in if they were there to order, etc. Here we were, customers, guiding the traffic of this restaurant. Unbelievable. There are two registers. One when you come in the door, and one farther into the restaraunt. No one was at the register in the front, and so those of us standing around had to tell those coming in where to go to order. What a hassle!. And then to get home and find out the food wasn't very good made the experience all the more frustrating. And this was a Friday night. I can't believe they weren't better prepared to handle Friday night traffic. Management needs to focus on how they can improve the flow of traffic coming in the doors, how to take oders for those who want to have carry out, and those picking up carry out. Perhaps some signage would help. Someone needs to keep track of people coming in and direct them about where to go for what. A whole other part of this establishment are people who come in, order and then have food brought to their table. That part of the restaurant didn't seem to be flowing very well either. People who were waiting for take out were bumping into those who were ordering for staying at the restaurant. I really like to shop and eat locally, but I don't think I will be going back to Spizzicos. The quality of the food and the experience of standing around waiting and bumping into other people isn't worth all of the hassle. It was a waste of my money and my time. read more

The food here is amazing and blows any other carryout joint on the Broadneck Peninsula out of the water. I've read some of the negative reviews, and well, the food is just soooo good, I have to assume maybe these reviewers have ulterior motives or long standing loyalties to other places. I think all the food on the peninsula sucks except the Graul's ready made stuff, so I am pretty hard to impress. I'm impressed enough that I actually signed up for Yelp to spread the word about this new restaurant. We've been to Spizzico's twice so far. First time we all had pasta dine in. The gnocchi was delicious, and so was the fettuccine alfredo. My son had a cheesesteak, and I stole a bite or two. I am from Philly so I do not say this lightly, but that was the best cheesesteak I have ever had in all my years in Maryland. You just won't get any closer to a real Philly cheesesteak than that. They use homemade rolls instead of Amoroso's, but I think it might have been better than Amoroso's anyway, and they use real shaved ribeye. We were so impressed by the pasta we did pizza carryout a couple nights later. The NY thin crust plain is to die for. Also, we got a Prosciutto pizza that was heaven...every slice had an entire slice of top quality Prosciutto on it. I'm not sure the people who have described the sauce as "plain" or "bland" have a good handle on what real NY style Italian pizza sauce is supposed to taste like. I made an account solely to review this restaurant. They are fantastic!! I love their food and there are so many options to choose from. Sadly I am moving away so I can't try more items:( I highly recommend their garlic bites, those are the best, especially with the sauce to dip them in!! The Pizza steak is fantastic as well!! Definitely my favorite from what I've had! Their portions are a little too big for me, I suggest finding someone to share with:) there need to be more Spizzicos everywhere :) The place is set up nicely on the inside, you order when you walk in and they bring the food right to your table. I got the meatball and cheese sub. the bread was outstanding. I nice crusty chiabatta. the goodness ended there. we ordered fries for the table. there were a lot but they were not hot, and tasted like they had been sitting under a warmer. The meatballs were completely devoid of flavor and mushy, and the marinara sauce also had absolutely no flavor. There was only about a tablespoon of sauce on the sandwich, it also was not hot, and the cheese wasnt melted. not happy!!!! read more

OH my goodness. The people who loved this pizza may need to get out a bit more. Horrible pizza. Pretty sure the broccoli was previously frozen. Very rubbery. We asked for some fresh garlic. (not one of there usual toppings) You know you mince a little fresh garlic and add it to the pizza. You don't cut it into wedges and load up the pizza with it. It is not a topping you treat like most. C'mon, exercise some common sense. Hardly any red sauce. Cheese tasted like some artificial american cheese. Never again! read more
