I was looking for a reasonably priced place to stay during my trip to SLO County and came across…read morethis inn. Many reviewers mentioned how clean the property was and how comfortable the beds were, so I came in with high expectations, especially since it has a 5-star rating on Yelp. Upon arrival, I was greeted by who I believe was the owner. She was incredibly kind and took the time to explain how everything worked, including the air conditioning and refrigerator. From what I could tell, she and her husband are the primary people running the inn, and they were both wonderful hosts. Throughout my stay, they checked in to make sure everything was going well, which I really appreciated. When I walked into the room, the reviews were absolutely right. Everything was spotless--from the bedding and carpet to the bathroom. I was also pleasantly surprised by the shower's water pressure. At many hotels it's either too weak or inconsistent, but here it was just right. The bed was also very comfortable, making it easy to get a good night's sleep. This isn't a luxury hotel, but it does exactly what it promises, especially for the price. It's clean, comfortable, and conveniently located near downtown and the pier. If you're looking for an affordable and well-maintained place to stay in the area, I would highly recommend this inn.

First of all, it's affordable, which means more cash left over for fine scotch and local adventures. The rooms are quiet, clean, and refreshingly minimal--none of that unnecessary hullabaloo. Just the essentials, delivered with class. And let me tell you about the "Magic Fingers" bed feature. Great Odin's raven! Nothing says luxury quite like a soothing massage after a long day of strolling around town. Then, when you emerge from the shower like a majestic sea lion, there's a heat lamp waiting to warm you up. It's the kind of innovation that makes America proud. The customer service? Fast, friendly, and more dependable than Baxter guarding a wheel of cheese. The staff made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. Location-wise, this place is in a prime spot. It's close to all the worthwhile shops and cafés, making it easy to enjoy the best of Morro Bay without having to embark on some epic quest. Would I stay here again? You stay classy, Sundown Inn. My family and I have been return renters with Beach-N-Bay Getaways for years, but we will not be…read moreback. In the past, we tried to be the best renters possible. We looked past several issues because we valued the long-term relationship. There were occasions when we arrived to find the house hadn't been cleaned properly, and one time, the bed sheets hadn't even been changed from the previous guest. We looked past the human error kept coming back because we believed in being reliable, low-maintenance customers. That loyalty was not returned. We booked our June 2026 (4th year in a row) stay back in September 2025, which is nearly nine months in advance. Even though we cancelled in December, giving them six full months to re-book a prime summer week, management hid behind the fine print to keep our deposit. They claimed they were "losing revenue," but since we were legacy renters with a 10% discount, they will be able to make more money by re-booking our dates at full price while keeping our deposit. Further, we had finished our stay in June 2025, which gave them time to book in what claimed was their most important booking period, the summer months. I'm not looking for a handout and rarely post negative reviews, and I believe in the sanctity of a contract. However, I also believe in the sanctity of a business relationship. As a "good actor" who provided this company with guaranteed capital nearly a year in advance for multiple years, I expected a level of mutual respect. It's a shame to see a company prioritize a short-term cash grab over years of consistent business. We weren't looking for a handout; we were looking for a shred of loyalty we thought we earned by being easy, reliable customers for years. They've made it clear that to them, a multi-year relationship is just another transaction. If you're looking for a company that values people over paperwork then I suggest you look elsewhere.

Upon arrival, the house was not ready at check-in; the cleaning staff remained for about 20 minutes past the scheduled time, and the floors were still wet and slippery from mopping. It's unfortunate that the host's review claimed we left the property messy, which is completely untrue. I personally hand-washed all dishes that did not fit in the dishwasher and started it before leaving, exactly as their checkout instructions stated. All trash was also properly taken out. We followed every listed checkout step and treated the property respectfully. It was also frustrating to be told our booking was an "exception" because we had two toddlers under age two, even though our reservation clearly reflected our group size within the listed and filtered limit. Beautiful home, but the inaccurate review and poor costumer service left a disappointing impression.

The reception was easy - the usual stupid liability forms to fill out - otherwise its nestled in a grove of trees and surprisingly quiet given how close to the road it is. The massage quality was on the higher end as one would expect, but what set it above and beyond was the 30-45 min soak in an outdoor private hot tub before your massage as part of the package. Definitely relaxed us before the relaxing massage and a relaxing hot shower afterwards. You just didn't want to do anything after that. A great experience and well worth it.

The private hot tub was already filled and heated upon arrival, which was a nice touch. There were plenty of towels, a refrigerator in the room, and a large, comfortable couch with a sitting area that was perfect for enjoying breakfast. Unfortunately, the service did not match the price point. At nearly $600 per night, I expected a much higher level of hospitality. Room service took over two hours to arrive, despite placing the order an hour in advance specifically to avoid delays. To their credit, the staff comped the meal, which was a gracious gesture, but I would have preferred receiving the food on time. What was most disappointing was the complete lack of personalized service. For a resort charging premium rates, I expected touches such as evening turndown service, robes and slippers prepared by the bed, or other details that make a luxury stay feel special. None of that was offered. At $600 per night. I would've rather spent my money at The Four Seasons four seasons or the Peninsula hotel. At least at those premium hotels we actually get the service we pay for. The check-in experience was also unpleasant. The front desk staff came across as overly rigid and unwelcoming, which set the wrong tone from the start. This was my second time giving this resort a chance, and unfortunately, I regret doing so. While the accommodations themselves are very nice, the service falls far short of what should be expected at this price level

I called the Beach Bungalow Inn & Suites directly and spoke with the manager, Gabriell J. She was a total professional. I was stressed and upset, but her calm and helpful demeanor completely turned things around. She went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of through the hotel itself. Lesson learned: always book directly! Not only is the customer service superior, but you get a better price, too. I will absolutely book directly with them for my next trip to Morrow Bay!

The staff was not helpful and customer service seemed to be a low priority. The room itself was also disappointing. The bathroom had extremely poor water pressure, which made even a simple shower frustrating. Additionally, there was no complimentary breakfast offered, which was surprising given the price and what many travelers expect from a hotel stay. Overall, it feels like the new ownership is more focused on maximizing profits than providing a quality guest experience. This was not the welcoming or enjoyable experience I was hoping for, and I would NEVER choose to stay here again.

I had made reservations for the big Spa-bath room about a month ago. Check in after 4 Madison checked us in, she is very friendly and informative. The hotel is very clean, our room very clean. Simply stated a modern room and bathroom, king bed, a balcony for two. Ceiling fan , heater, mini fridge, microwave, Kruig, flat screen, and a fake fireplace. The Mattress was good, a bit soft and with nice linens. Electrical outlets at a minimum (its an old build). The location is a compromise depending on what you're here to do or see and is certainly nosier as it is located on Main street. Tired as you may imagine we started the day in the Spa which is really just a tub, no current or bubbles but the hot water was quick and filled fast, some fun nonetheless. The drain knob didn't open the drain, well maybe a little. Breakfast served till ten but I let it get too late, they were packing it up and cleaning when I showed. In the bottom of the steam table pan I found some warmed Croissants stuffed with ham & cheese or Florentine style. Apples, Oranges, coffee and hot water...I grabbed a couple of croissants and a cup of coffee. We were packed up, check out at the front desk and no option for a TV check out, at least one I didn't see. Nice place, a bit shallow but it did the job.
