One of the better pizza places in Pittsburgh! The crust is divine! I'd put it up against any other place. The staff is always so phenomenal. Food comes up quick even when they are packed. Chill vibe with some cool wall art. Nice patio outside when it is warm enough too We love to stop after trips to South Hills Village.

Large local brewery with a restaurant and outdoor play area. We came on a busy Friday night for dinner and they seated us right away out back on the deck under the giant umbrellas. We sampled a couple beers and chose a German lagger and an IPA. Then ordered a cheesesteak sandwich with kettle chips. Only part not enjoyable was the bread (too dry).

Spoonwood has been a beloved spot of ours for beee and food for a few years now. One of my favorite things about this place is they have so many different styles of beer, and they all seem to be incredible. Truly, something for every beer drinker! Their pizzas are out of this world, as well as their smoked meats. Large portions and great food! I suggest the cornbread muffin as a side.

I stopped in for a drink between appointments and was not disappointed. It was 3pm on a Friday afternoon, so it was not busy but started to get busier after 4pm. Our server was quick and attentive. The ambiance was relaxed and a good decision for a Friday afternoon.

Tucked away in Bethel Park, this place is perfect for sitting outside, grabbing a few drinks and some good eats. Stopped here while in the area, based off other reviews and we really liked it. Services was great, forgot to capture our two cocktails but we tried the spoonwood spritz and the pink pony (seasonal I think) and they were really tasty, not too strong and a good size. Food wise, the pizza was the star of the show. Tomato vodka sauce with some mozzarella hit the spot, plus the crust was light and airy but had that crunch and chew that made it perfect. On the other hand, the kickin chicken was dry and didn't have any distinct flavor to it. The slaw was ok but that's all you really tasted, the Sriracha dusting provided little flavor or spice and the mayo was hardly noticeable. Overall, definitely wanting to go back and try another more of their pizzas and a few drinks while the weather is nice enough to sit on their patio.

I've been to Spoonwood before for apps and dinner and really enjoyed myself. However, we visited for brunch this morning and were pretty disappointed. The potatoes were completely bland and very mushy, and the coffee was quite bad. The biscuits & gravy and avocado toast were good, but we'll probably stick to snacks/dinner here if we visit again.

My philosophy continues that you can't be a brewery and have good beer AND food. This food was average. The chicken reminds me of crock pot chicken, bland, cooked in too much liquid, and tasted slightly old... The pizza was good, again the chicken was eh, but overall the flavors of this were good. The beer was cold and refreshing. Service was fine- we came at an off time so we're seated quickly. The space is big and they have nice outdoor seating, covered for the winter right now. Overall a decent spot if you're in the area!

It's all gone south. Store bought generic chips on both the appetizer & main. Greasy gloppy artichoke dip with nary an artichoke lol. Chef Boyardee pizza sauce on a pizza with bad basil and was it cooked in the pizza oven? It was worse than a take and bake, we just left it behind. Chèvre chicken sandwich with a half teaspoon of chèvre, not caramelized - caramelized onions, rubbery chicken. Even the pickle was bad! Aperol spritz missing Prosecco? It seemed like a half shot of aperol in soda water. I hate complaining because covid made it all bad, but no one even seemed to notice or care.

Spoonwood is one of my most visited local businesses. I am a big fan of many of their beers, their collaborations with other local businesses to create them (example: my constant favorite here, Cold Drip City, is infused with a dark roast from Allegheny Coffee & Tea), and their wood-fired pizzas are reliably excellent. My favorite is Pretty Fly for a White Pie. With garlic oil, cherry tomatoes, basil and cheese, you just can't go wrong. I've had lots of other menu items including salads, soups and the falafel that are also consistently good; I'm a vegetarian but my family likes items from their smoker like baby back ribs. I like sitting on their outdoor patio, which they have screened in for the cooler weather. That's helpful in giving them more space, too. (Note that even during summer, the outdoor patio is not dog-friendly. There are occasional dog nights on another part of the lawn! Follow their socials to know when.) Recently we came on the weekend during brunch, which was a different experience. There is a specific brunch menu and that is all you can order from during that time. I tried a brunch pizza, since I'm a big fan of the pizzas here. It was able to be customized to my liking (holding the meat) but I found it just a little dry. My companion got a brunch burger that included an egg. I might try one of the sweeter brunch choices next time. The savory seemed like a better idea if I wanted to try some beers, which I did as there were new autumn ones on the menu. That's one of the best reasons to keep coming back, the constantly rotating beer selection. Get a flight of minis to try as many as possible.

I've eaten here more times than I can count but this was my first time for brunch. And let me say, dang was it delicious! I met my girlfriends here on a Sunday. We got there right at 10 for opening and there were several people already there. The place continued to get busier as the morning went one. Everyone started with drinks. I had the Irish cream coffee, it was perfectly made and had quite the kick! I honestly couldn't make up my mind on what to eat but the veggie omelette had stout glazed onions in it and I couldn't resist. I've had them on pizza before and they are phenomenal so I knew it would be good. It also had roasted red peppers and feta cheese. It was so simple but one of the tastiest omelette's I've ever had. Others had the eggs Benedict, or avocado toast and eggs. Everyone loved their meals. They also had breakfast pizza, which I want to try next time. Oh and our server was just lovely. She was so patient as we took what felt like forever to place our orders.

Spoonwood always does a nice job honoring veterans. Although we like the food here normally, vets get 15% off today in observance of Veterans Day. The discount was nice. Beers are good here and the food is excellent, especially the brunch. My only complaint is it's definitely pricey. The kids cheeseburger is $10 and adult meals are more. Still, we love it here and always look forward to stopping in.

Outdoor seating? What are the COVID precautions?

There's outdoor seating in two areas. Tables are six feet apart. You have to wear a mask coming in. It's suggested to call ahead to put your name on their wait list.

They do not take reservations and we joked about there being a line. Well, when we showed up 10 minutes before opening, there was indeed a line. However, we went on Valentine's Day to one of the only GF places in the city, so that was to be expected. They were able to accommodate our party of seven no problem, and the staff were so friendly. Our server was amazing. One of our party members is hard to please, but our waiter was on top of it! We ordered a variety of apps for the table - wings, brussel sprouts, and fried provolone. All tasted fantastic. My husband and I agreed we would come just for the wings alone. Perfect smokey flavor. We got the hot buffalo garlic and they weren't super spicy. The marinara with the fried provolone was creamy and delicious. The Brussels were your standard side that every place has with the balsamic glaze. Not mushy at all and the garlic aioli was the best touch. We saw the food coming out and had to make room... the portions are huge! I could only finish half my burger and took the rest home. It was juicy, full of flavor, and easy to handle. Sometimes when you get a massive burger it ends up so sloppy and the toppings just slide off. Not with this! Perfectly stacked and ready to be devoured. The fries were a little greasy but still crispy. They earned my crisp seal of approval! The drinks were strong and everybody loved them. I got the blushing lady and it was sweet but not overly sweet and I could actually taste the spirits. Fantastic bar food options for people who are GF. We visited for the first time because someone in our group was GF and we would definitely go back!

Hadn't been here in a minute and thought of this place right across from Brentwood Towne Center. They get pretty busy on weekends and it's clear they have a lot of regulars, which always speaks well of a place. We happened to hit it at just the right time before it got too crowded. JT's name remains on the place but it now seems to be run by Sam whose name is added on the menus and inside. We had a funny experience when parking on the street as I was checking the app to see if payment was required on Sundays, and Sam happened to be outside and called over to us to make sure not to pay today. It set just the right start to this homey family diner experience. The space inside is modest and feels like you are eating at a family member's home, complete with kitschy little framed sayings on the walls. There is a television on and patrons chat with the staff and one another. There are maybe 10 tables of varying sizes and a counter, and today we had one server working hard to take care of everyone, the owner and a couple of cooks in the back. The menu is two pages, almost entirely breakfast items such as egg combination dishes, omelettes, French toast and pancakes. There are a few specials posted each day. You might think that a breakfast item is a breakfast item, but they really do it well here. First is a focus on high-quality ingredients from local providers like Weiss Meats and Mancini's Bread. There are creative items like my veggie jumbot, which was sort of an egg scramble including mushrooms, green peppers, onions and cheese, and it was delicious. Their potato pancakes remind me of the most I've had of a friend's who used to make authentic Eastern European ones. You can substitute one of these for your potato side and I highly recommend doing so. Even my companion's relatively simple breakfast of eggs, bacon and potato pancake was a huge hit for being perfectly prepared, because "no one ever flips the over-easy eggs just right." This is an under-the-radar spot, but locals know about it, and you should too.
