Spoto was such a delicious find! Located in the Murray Hill area, this late night pizza spot offers some great slices; they also have salads and gelato. We had the 2 cheese slices, and each were warmed up perfectly; it came out piping hot and was cheesy and delicious! The crust was thin with a perfect crisp, and the sauce had a nice tang to it. I'd be curious to try their other varieties, such as the Spinach, Ricotta, Mozzarella & Garlic, the Buffalo Chicken, or the Vodka! The staff are super friendly and welcoming, and the space is bright and clean. After a visit to the dentist in the area I needed a bite and walking by I found Spoto Pizza. Had a good sized slice, thin with a nice crust, and a tasty mix of sauce and cheese. Ok, what a find! I am in NYC multiple times a year shuttling teens around the city to experience the touristy side of things. We'd just made our way out of Grand Central and realized just how hungry we were after a long day of walking Central Park (I SAW KEVIN BACON THERE), The Met, and 5th Avenue.... we were famished and it seemed like no better time for some NYC style pizza. I did a quick google maps search for highly rated pizza places and Spoto was open, and within a 10 minute walk from where we were. This seemed like a good option. And when we arrived I knew I'd made the right choice. I went with two slices: Mushroom, and Spinach/Ricotta/Garlic and both were exceptional. The flavors, the ratios, the thin crust! Perfect really. My teen went for a Margherita and a Vodka slice - which she was REALLY happy with. We stopped in around 6pm on a Sunday and it wasn't busy, but it definitely picked up after we'd sat at the window counter and ate our dinner. It's small and seating is limited - so this might be a better take out option for those living in the general area, getting out of work or staying in the general vicinity. I live around the UN and let me tell you, there isn't much around me from an anything standpoint. I do not do anything around my place during the weekend except the Dock's down the block for oysters and happy hour at times, but there is nothing here. Being a heavy drinker in NYC, when it is late and I am drunk, there are many times I would like a pizza. It is a common habit that I picked up dating an investment banker at MS back in my late twenties. Well, that and also my love for margaritas came from him. He didn't stick, but the habits did. I digress... before this place, there was no pizza place nearby my home. I had to ubereats pizza and would fall asleep by the time they came. You can imagine the hungover me in the am trying to go to work only to see a box of pizza in front of the door... After this place opened, that has reduced significantly since I just grab a slice before going home. The pizza is okay. It is not like Prince Street or Joe's, but it is pizza. It is like sex, good pizza, bad pizza, pizza is pizza. I normally go after a night of drinking and not much food since it is there. I am gracious they opened one by me. read more

A new pizza place in the neighborhood, offers some interesting combos (they didn't have the cacio e pepe slice that they offer on their menu). Had the white slice with ricotta and spinach (they said it also had lemon, but didn't taste they). I'm pretty loyal to Libretto's in the area, but look forward to trying other slices in the future. read more

One of my new favorite pizza spots that opened up recently! The crust is crispy and thin and the ingredients are better than most. Even the condiments on the table look better than your usual NYC pizza slice shop in nicer containers. I went twice in two days last weekend. For two slices - a vodka and margherita- it was $9.80. Popped in to check it out, close to dinner figured I'd try it in the future, grabbed a menu. I'm sitting in the car, reading about their 5-day dough proofing process and immediately walked back in to get a slice. Asked the counter guy "What's your favorite?" He got me to try I guess, Vodka sauce & pepperoni. Does a good slice have the ability to change your mood? Absolutely! Spoto Pizza put a big smile on my face! A new neighborhood pizza store - most of the pizzas look to be thin sliced. The toppings are actually quite delicious and you can easily finish a pie between two people. Everyone is super kind there. When I saw this pizza joint open in my neighborhood at first I shrugged - there's 4 others nearby that are good but not really memorable. But I was wrong to assume it is "just another pizza joint". Spoto is ELITE. It goes head to head with the very best in the city. It's a place that I selfishly don't want there to be a line out the door - but they deserve it and rivals famous "must travel to" joints in nyc. Dough, crust, char, minimal to no flop all on point. I tried spoto for the first time today. First off, all of the staff were incredible - so friendly and helpful. I was hosting some friends around lunchtime and even though they don't open until 11:30am they were able to coordinate having both pizzas ready right at the start of opening so I could pick them up for lunch! Secondly, the pizza was great! The tomato sauce is delicious and acidic and the dough has the perfect amount of crisp and chew.
