While there's no shortage of pizzerias in Manhattan, this one is pretty close to my office and has become a go-to whenever we want pizza. Since my initial review, I have been back a few times with colleagues and have reassessed the goods. The location of Uncle Paul's is ideal for a number of office buildings in Midtown East. My wife and I came here with two of our friends and my wife and I agreed it was the best pizza outside of Chicago. We decided ahead of time to come here since we spent the day nearby at MoMA and my belated Great Uncle that lived nearby in New Jersey's name is Paul and it is also the name of our brother in law from New York. One of the beauties about New York is its local pizza. I took my sister here on her first trip to New York and we enjoyed the pizza. There was a long line when we walked in but the staff was quick and efficient with getting everyone's orders out. My parents first time in NYC and of course they had to eat a slice of pizza and I am so glad we stumbled at Uncle Paul's Pizza! We chose the location because they had seating available outside and we were astounded when they had dining inside too! Opon entering we were greeted by a gentleman, and I think he is the son or a relative of the owner, and he was very patient with my parents and I as we were deciding what to order. He was helpful and answered all of our questions. I loved that you can tell her had passion for the pizza! The food was delicious and authentic! I had a calzone (not my first time in NYC so I didn't order pizza lol) and man, it was packed with chicken! I wanted something with protein as I haven't been eating much protein for a week (vacation makes you eat unhealthy) and I chose just that because of it. The calzone wasnt heavy on the dough like some joints do, this one was proportioned and balanced between dough, sauce, cheese and chicken! Ok, maybe too much chicken but who complains on extra meat?! Lmao no one!! The pizza was ravedby my parents the whole time and my brother even said NY has the best pizza ever! Of course, every pizza is unique but you know what he meant, it was delicious and worth it! Given the interior and dining room and how up kept the bathroom and outdoor dining is, the pizza is worth the money and amazingly not expensive. The price is so worth the quality and quantity!!
