Wife and I had eaten at Hard8 BBQ and we're highly impressed but now we wanted something closer but recommended. So she order her sausage and brisket, and the brisket was good, but the sausage just wasn't BBQ!!? Seemed like they just boiled it in water. I had the ribs and brisket and I did enjoy both. The rolls are amazing, warm and soft, but all in all, this spot is nothing I'd go crazy for in the future. Would sooner be back at Hard8 or continue to try others. read more

We love, love Spring Creek's bar-be-que, sweet sauce, veggies and sweet tea. We've been regular customers for many years at the Airport Frwy location in Irving, TX. I like their friendly greeting and goodbyes and the service line employees have always been nice and outgoing. If we've had any problems, it has been with corn-on-the-cob. It is consistently warm, at best...never hot enough to melt butter. From the time I leave the line and get to a table, the corn is already cool enough that butter won't melt. When I spoke to an employee once; they only said they are satisfied that the temperature, at which the corn should be kept, is accurate. I was offered another ear and, likewise, it too was too cool for butter to melt. This is every time we visit, approx 3 - 6 times per month. But, nonetheless, we will continue to come back; just wish the corn was a bit hotter. Thank you! read more

We went here at about 9:30 on Friday night, and it was our first time eating here at the insistent suggestion of my coworkers, and It was awful. Dried up, crusty meat plates that they charge you 12 bucks for, doused in "homemade barbecue sauce" that tastes like they just drained the juice from baked beans and called it their own, ALL of the side dishes were COLD for some reason (cold mac and cheese, YUM), save for the french fries that were only hot because they had to be made fresh. Spring Creek is a chain restuarant and I don't usually review chains as ubiquitous as this (reviewing a chain like this is like reviewing an Arby's or a McDonald's - everyone's been there and they know what it is, duh), but it committed an atrocity that I felt needed to be broadcasted to the yelp community. I rarely come here anyways unless I have one of those buy-one-get-one coupons that come in the ValPak mailers every now and then, but a friend from NYC was coming into town who craves this stuff so we had to accomodate his wishes. We chose this place because it's the closest one to the DFW airport and that was going to be hands down his first stop in town. Everyone I know who comes here orders the ribs. Because they're pretty good and the best deal. We walk in on a Friday evening at 8pm only to find out that they had RUN OUT OF RIBS! How is this even possible when the they weren't even that full and most of the patrons who eat at SCBBQ are senior citizens who wouldn't dare eat ribs for fear that their false teeth will come out? The place smells like melting plastic. (I should know; I almost caught my house on fire a couple weeks ago and am quite familiar with that repulsive odor) However, people are MUCH too harsh on this place for the price point. Meat plus sides (albeit very generic sides: the mac and cheese tasted heavily processed, the green beans were okay, the potato salad was obviously straight from the factory, and the cold slaw was respectable) for $11 or $12? I don't know where else you can get that kind of price for a full meal... and for the low price, the place isn't the worst out there by far. It's just generic food. Anyone who thinks that something EXCITING is going to happen at a restaurant that has five main meats, five main sides, and a few dessert choices is full of themselves. This is NOT where the cool kids hang out. This is where people who can't afford Outback go. The price, for what it is, is not bad. Service was friendly all around, but they REALLY could use a sign telling people where to go initially on the glass doors. Surely that type of signage wouldn't be too expensive, right? I won't come back; this isn't my type of place. But for the price, it's quite a few people's type of place. And I'm not going to knock stars down because I set my expectations too high. They offer you a drink while you wait for the food and they double-check everything for you before you pay. It's as if they've got smiles and go-out-of-your-way-service tattoo'ed to their faces. The food is good or whatever ,but the kids who are working at night act like they don't wanna be bothered. We ordered fries we didn't receive them until we were damn near finished with our meal. Really enjoyed this food. I would have given a 5, but you don't get quite enough meat. The cafeteria line setup is great and the meat servers are awesome!! The BBQ is just super. I like that you can go back up for sides too, all that can fit on your plate. Plus they keep coming around with the rolls. But still, a little more meat would be so nice. The cold beer they have goes great with the food. I grabbed a Shine Bock and enjoy the taste of that with the beef. read more

Not a bad place for bbq. From Ohio and have been here twice. Both time the food was good and consistent but feel price is a little high for what you get. Fresh bread is good and sweet tea rocks. Love the green beans but Mac and cheese needs help. Brisket is good but not best I have had in TX or in OH for that matter. The sauce is thin and basic. My first visit to Texas and I want BBQ! As I was short on time on a business trip, I ended up at Spring Creek, while being told that it may not be the best in the area, it's still pretty good for a chain. The first thing I noticed with the smoky scent as I walked inside. Liking it already. I had a combo plate with ribs, brisket and black pepper sausage. The brisket was pretty good, ribs were ok, sausage was delicious. The sides were nothing great, mac & cheese, beans, cole slaw. The fresh baked bread was fantastic. Every time they came around offering more, I'd fill up. Don't fill up on bread, they say. But at Spring Creek I say go for it. read more

People are haters. Spring Creek is delicious! Maybe it's not the best of the best for TX BBQ, but it's definitely still tasty. If you have a Valpak coupon (which I always do), it's especially good value. BOGO entrees include a platter of one meat and two sides, as much as you can fit on a plate. I got the lean brisket (fall-apart tender) with pinto beans and green beans and my hubs got the rib platter (not greasy but def. flavorful) with green beans/mac & cheese and a Coke and our total for all this after the coupon was right under $15. The BBQ sauce is a perfect balance of sweet, tangy, and spicy. They also have someone coming around the restaurant every few minutes with a basket of freshly baked delicious rolls. Have visited here several times and have yet to be disappointed. This is no-frills Texas barbeque. For a few bucks grab your choice of meat and it comes with unlimited sides! I've gotten the brisket and sausage each time, and it's always juicy, tender and has just the right amount of smoke. The service is fast and friendly. I went today and I had to make sure there was bacon bits on the baked potato and I was told by the manager Micheal in a rude way that everything is right do to he fixed it himself. Well when I got back to work no sour cream on potato and the ribs were hard and dry. I called back and spoke to the same man Micheal and he told me that the sour cream was at the bottom and the only way I can get something else is if I bring it back . If you at work and on lunch who has to o go back do to it was suppose to be right the first time. With this type of service I will not go back and will tell all my co-workers not to go and we are a big business. They need to retrain their employees and give better service read more

The manager is probaly a nice guy but he is loud & never stops talking. He yelled across the restaurant to his employees for a straight 10 minutes & made it al i'l but impossible for my friend & I to carry on a conversation. I think this is better than average for what it is. It's not a super duper BBQ place in the category of Hard 8 or others, to me it's was better than other local chains. It's more than reasonable to eat here, especially if you use the bogo discounts coupons from the mailers in the area. The hot rolls are a nice touch and the ribs are more than good enough. The turkey is usually moist and makes for good sandwiches if your in the mood for that. Sometimes when you add a chicken to the ribs I've found the meat more dried than I prefer, but it could be when I got there and they aren't busy yet. Otherwise it's good, inexpensive and I've found it always clean and cared for. read more

I've been to a few spring Creek around the dfw area and by far this one is the best. I'm mostly speaking just for tonight's visit. The staff tonight was on point. The place was clean, table was clean, silverware was clean. The food was also the best version I've had, the ribs were not burnt, the sausage was juicy, and the banana pudding is just bliss. If I could give this place zero stars I WOULD! First off this place was and probably still is filled with rats! They should have this god awful place shut down. I was eating one night and I noticed another customer stepped on a mice. The food here is down right cruel to serve. Dried out brisket and burnt bread. One worker a teenage mexican girl was incredibly rude as can be. She had long bushy hair tied back, she's a little chubby, and pale. Avoid her! She kept rolling her eyes at me when asking her questions. I would have spoken to the manager but I was feeling nice that day. I remember glancing over at the bread area (where they bake they breads) and that chubby mexican girl was squat down shoving bread in her mouth. I can tell ya'll that she did not wash her hands afterwards. This one white boy with glasses was making loud noises while cleaning the damn tables by dropping dishes in the bucket. This place is a complete mess! Never hate anywhere before but I HATE this over priced, terrible service, and down right NASTY place! Lord have mercy on the people who chooses to eat here. I ordered fries and a chopped beef sandwich. Half way through my fries. I noticed hair in my food. I threw the fries away. I am pregnant and had been craving a chopped beef sandwich. Half way through eating this sandwhich, I found myself pulling a long black strand of hair out of my mouth. I had already swallowed half of it and could feel it in my throat. I threw the almost eaten sandwhich away, appalled and utterly disgusted. The hair looked like it had been deliberately put in my food. I called to speak with the manager and he seemed very nonchalant about the situation. The next day I could still feel the hair in my throat and was sick to my stomach.
