This Ramunto's Pizza Express counter is located inside of the Jiffy Mart in Charlestown. There are…read moreseveral independently owned and operated Ramunto's locations throughout New Hampshire and Vermont. Ramunto's Express serves up thin crust traditional and specialty pizzas (by the slice & pie (16"-20")), garlic knots, cinnamon knots, mini calzones, and Coke products, a streamlined menu here inside a convenience store. The Ramunto's restaurant locations also serve hoagies, calzones, pasta, salads, appetizers, and desserts. The prices here are fair, pizza slices $2.29-$2.99 and they offer 2 pizza slices & Coke for $4.99-$6.99. A 16" cheese pizza is $11.99 and 18" specialty pizzas are $18.99. I stopped by the Jiffy Mart for a break and headed over to the Ramunto's Pizza Express counter for a slice of pizza. There were 5 pizzas to choose from behind the glass display window. I ordered one slice of BBQ Chicken Pizza ($2.99 plus tax=$3.26) since it looked like it was just made. The counter person sliced and boxed the pizza, all set and I assumed the pizza was still hot. However, the pizza slice was lukewarm, which was still the same issue I had at another location I visited in Vermont a while ago. The pizza slice tasted pretty good which was topped with generous amounts of boneless chicken pieces, bacon, BBQ sauce and melted cheese on a firm thin crust (screen patterned under), edge crust not too thick. Overall, good pizza (slice could've been reheated in the oven) and quick counter service.

As noted. Substandard at best. The food was awful. I will never go back. Lots of excuses. Not…read moreinterested.

There are not a lot of options in this area so we headed for Sumner House. I wouldn't choose to go…read morehere again if I could find some other option. The positives: the portions were huge, wait staff was friendly. Apart from it having pretty bright lighting and being a little noisy... the interior is fairly charming being that it's a great old house and you can still see elements of its former life. The less positive-- I didn't care for the food, nor did my co-diners. The meatloaf was pretty dry. The burger looked like it was just a 'bubba burger' or some other mediocre frozen variety. The chicken parm was a huge piece of chicken but the sauce had an odd taste-- almost like it had a bit too much red wine in it or it wasn't cooked down enough-- so it was sort of sour? The soup was ok. It was extra cheesy. We would have traded in some of the cheese for some more broccoli. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great.

Chicken parm was a little dry and a little too much breading for my liking. Broccoli cheddar soup (soup of the day) was excellent. The girl who was running the takeout stand lost a star. When I asked for utensils she shrugged and said they don't have any... She told me if I wanted utensils I can go buy them at the dollar store across the street. I didn't get her name but she has a terrible attitude. Edit 3/6/25: Second negative experience with same hostess, Autumn. I'll spare you the details. Buffalo wings were very dry and a 2 or 3 out of 10 spicy, average at best. Grilled chicken was also dry."
