As last week there was a mix up at the deli.When I purchased plain turkey. When I brought back the wrong turkey, lydia was extremely respectful and did not charge me for my plane turkey. when I walked in Nick, mgr. was available and I told him about lydia, and how respectful and kind she was last week. i continued to the Deli to order ny plain turkey and I told lydia how wonderful she was to fix the situation last week.And we ended with a good laugh. I am a regular at the deli counter, always get friendly service from Ryan and the other deli helpers, accommodating my usual request for butchers paper instead of a plastic bag (not a fan of plastic packaging and seems to last just as long in butchers paper), and of course the Boars Head cold cuts and cheeses are always top-notch. Twice now I have been to this location the first time I ordered a sandwich custom and the lady in a very condescending manner asked me if I knew it was extra that it was going to be 11$ sandwich. I was thrown aback by her attitude as if I couldn't afford it or couldn't read the blatant English language writing saying the add on I wanted were extra money. But bit my tongue maybe my work appearance was it. I don't dress like lawyer to beautify dogs all day. Then yesterday happened. I was grabbing my favorite chips, protein bars and some fruit. An employee came up to me asked me if I was good with a tone. But the vibe felt so uncomfortable. I never wanted to just check out and leave so fast. Idk what it is but maybe next time just cause I'm dressed for work and running in to grab my fav snack doesn't mean I can't pay for it. I'll buy it 50x over the asking price just prove a point. read more

She was able to check me out as quickly as possible without ever making me feel rushed. Unfortunately,I had forgotten one of my reusable bags in the car and had to run back to grab it. Anna was extremely understanding and sweet. Autumn who bagged my groceries offered assistance to my car. I went to pick up a few items, haven't been here for a while since the price increases. Different vibe. First, I was in the meat section, I had a question, someone from the back, in that section, happened to step out, he was looking at the section I was looking at, I politely said excuse me, he was very close, he ignored me, I know he could hear me, I said excuse me 3 more times, he ignored me, and walked away through the door behind the counter. Store was not busy. I went to the sushi section, $5 sushi day, a lady was stocking the sushi, in front of me, she looked at me, and didn't move out of my way so I could look at which one I wanted. I have never been treated so rudely. I bought a small amount of multiple items from the bins, for a charcuterie board. It was very embarrassing when my guests were noticing the shelled and unshelled nuts were stale and chewy, and the colorful Jordan almonds were so hard, they were inedible, my husband broke one to taste it, it was really bad. Also, I started to eat a date, and it was black inside. I used to always buy dates there, they were always good. The girl at the checkout was very nice, otherwise, the quality and politeness seem to be lacking now, not sure if management changed, but it was a noticeable difference. read more

Have never Yelp reviewed a grocery store before... Ordered three deli sandwiches here today and the woman at the deli was so friendly and made our sandwiches with care and detail. She even said "Have a great lunch!" after giving us the last one. She taped our individual sandwich order papers to the sandwiches themselves so we could remember who's was which. Upon opening the sandwiches when we were ready to eat, everything was layered nicely and the bread was fresh (which tends to be a typical negative with these sandwiches). This used to be a great store but for the last year the shelves have been low on stock and produce is sub par.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at this Sprouts was upsetting enough to warrant one. I stopped by the store to pick up a few items for a friend recovering from surgery. While on the phone with her to confirm what she needed, I was suddenly and loudly yelled at by a gray-haired employee from about 20 feet away. She shouted, "I said can I help you!" -- something I hadn't heard her say prior. The tone and volume were completely unnecessary and startling. I hadn't been rude or dismissive -- in fact, I hadn't even seen or interacted with her before that moment. I was simply trying to help someone in need and was left feeling embarrassed and uncomfortable for no clear reason. I value good customer service and understand that everyone can have a tough day, but there's a way to approach people respectfully. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. read more

I can rarely rely on the fact that I can go to this store and complete even a short grocery list. However they account for stock and whoever is ordering stock, flat out sucks. Inevitably they are out of more than one item on my list. The Encinitas store isn't any better. It usually takes two stores to complete a list. I'll pay extra to go to Lazy Acres so I can complete a shopping list in one trip. read more
