I received my potatoes luke warm after waiting at least waiting 10-15 minutes. Potatoes tastes fine l, but I am writing this review more for the customer service. The woman that helped us acted very impatient and aggravated and slammed the water bottle I ordered down on the counter. Even if this is a night stop catering to people that have been out all night drinking, there should be a little bit better customer service. read more

I loved the food, but only give this "restaurant" a four because I saw a palmetto bug running from a booth into a hole in the brick wall. I hate to say it but I was so disappointed with this place. I love the concept, but nothing about the ingredients were fresh. The chicken definitely came frozen and was heated, the jalapeños were definitely from a jar, Salsa from a jar. The game could definitely be stepped up if they used fresher ingredients. So first impression of this restaurant you will miss it if you try to look for it you actually need to be walking on the street it's a pretty comfortable atmosphere and the lighting is great and the music is a perfect volume so it's a really good place just to chill out not too big so not really good for huge groups either but a great place for takeout they actually serve beer here which I didn't expect which is also cool wanted to make me try out the place because the name was interesting and then to come to find out that every dish is potato-based I thought was a cool concept we ordered the Athenian and sugar momma which one was russet potato based and one was sweet potato based I liked the sweet potatoes one because I am completely biased towards the taste of sweet potatoes so it was good in my book . The Athenian was ok I mean it came with half a potato which was like ok and then the hummus serving and everything was just scarce I mean for 7 dollars with half a potato I'd expect more you can get a loaded potato for that much. I went here because I heard it was a quick and great place to grab a filling snack. I figured it was worth a shot because it's not hard to mess up a potato, but the young man working while I went in managed to. Not only did he make me the wrong item, he managed to make it look like a bucket of puke. The bathroom was disgusting, it felt grimy in there, and to my surprise, they had a 100 inspection rating hanging up. Perhaps it was just the guy that was holding down the fort that made my experience awful, but because of him, I'll never go back, or recommend the place to anyone. I had heard amazing things and was so excited to try. We were first in line (at 1:30am) we waited for SEVENTEEN MINUTES, no one said anything to us. Not a "hey sorry we are behind, will be with you soon," or a "hey, welcome, be with you shortly." No one said a thing for 17 full minutes with us first in line. It had the appearance they were fixing 4 meals which I would assume would not take that long. We were upset with not being acknowledged and left. Such a bummer. read more

My one star review is based solely on the piss poor service that the female employee gives to patrons on a regular basis. I have been to Spudnik a number of times since moving to Savannah two months ago. I work late, so having a place to stop at on my way home that is not pizza is very nice for me. I quite like the potatoes, but I can say without the least bit of certainty that I have now visited this establishment for the last time. I have NEVER been treated with such distain by someone in customer service quite the way I have been with the young lady who regularly works nights here. She is a nightmare & it is completely unwarranted. I do nothing more than go & place my order. She acts like you are a great bother to her my doing so. You say "Thank you" when she drops off your food & she will not even acknowledge you. You place your order & she will just turn her back & walk away without saying a word to you. I could be fine with this if it just happened once or twice to me. Everyone, even those in customer service, are allowed a bad day. But I am writing this review because she ALWAYS acts like this. I have dealt with her acting this way at least four weekends in a row. As I said above, Spudnik is nice for me because I like the food & it is convenient with the hours that I work, but as long as this individual is working there, I will not be dining there. read more

Worst service ever didn't have any potatoes ready told us it would be 20 minutes and then changed it to 45 minutes after we had paid and said they thought it was going to be slow. My husband and I stopped at Spudnik while passing through Savannah on our way to Disney World last week. Our goal was to find a local place with excellent food that wasn't super pricey. Spudnik fit this to a T! I had the classic and it was classically delicious and my husband had the BBQ Pork one with crushed tortilla chips. Both were super tasty. As a brand nut, I also loved that all the potatoes are served in quirky soup cups- the perfect way to eat a potato so it can't get away from the delicious toppings. With baked potatoes, it's also easy to skimp on the toppings or use subpar shredded cheese, etc. Spudnik avoids these pitfalls with grace and yumminess. All the ingredients were fresh, plentiful, and generous, providing a great ratio of potato to topping. This place is a fantastic concept, great service, great price, and best of all - simple and epically delish food! Can't wait to visit again soon! read more

So I went to Sputnik as a stop on my road trip with a group of my friends. We all got different meals and each was as good as the next. Each potato was flavorful and perfectly satisfying. There is a type of potato for everyone and salad for those who don't want potatoes or want something else on the side. The sweet potato was delicious as were the russet potatoes. It was an all around great meal and left us wishing we had a Sputnik in our home town. I would definitely recommend going if you're in the area. I should have know when the restaurant was supposed to open at 12 and didn't until I had been waiting outside for 10 minutes and knocked on the glass that this might not be the best experience in Savannah. When I ordered the Pizza-tato (added chicken) and the cashier told me not to order it, but I did anyway and it was good. Very small location- not good for large parties. This restaurant is a brilliant business idea - a potato bar that is open late! However, there were so many issues when we went recently. It was late (around midnight or 1am) and it was moderately crowded. We easily found a place to sit after placing our orders. We waited over 20 minutes for our food! There are not that many menu items and choices, so this was mind boggling! In addition, there were antsy drunk people who kept going up and inquiring about when their order was going to be ready and we were pretty sure some of our food was given away to people who were behind us in line. To make things just a bit worse, when our food finally did come out, one person in our group did not get his food for another 10 minutes. Some people were done eating by then. Again, great idea, but logistics need to be improved. Also, it's a little pricey when you think about the cost of the ingredients. read more

I love this place. Such a creative idea! The owner is a SCAD graduate and incredibly pleasant to talk to. The atmosphere is very casual and comfortable and great for a group of friends to start or cap off a night, or for a late night craving as it is open until the wee hours of the morning some nights. There are a surprising amount of options considering every one is a baked potato and the owner encourages you to get creative as well and make your own baked potato. Nothing special. I got the pulled pork-tato. The pork is definitely the microwaveable stuff you buy at the grocery store which isn't bad but isn't great. Many genuine bbq joints make the same thing but with real barbecue and it is much much better. read more

Don't bother. They don't want your business. Tried twice to eat here. Both times it was closed, even though the hours were posted. Tonight, got there a half hour after opening time to find a sign saying they would open at 6pm. Decided to hang out for half an hour till they opened. At a little after 6, two guys went in, and we followed them to find that they were the staff and no food. We were told that it would take at least an hour to get any food ready for sale. I was incredulous and said that the signage said they would open at 6. The guy said, yeah but the boss didn't think there would be anyone and said he could get there around 6. Seriously? I told him that they should be ready to serve food when they open the doors. No reply. It was aggravating, and I said, so, if you open at 6, what time should you have gotten here to ensure you were ready to go at 6? Nothing. No effort to make nice. No customer service skills. He should have apologized for the inconvenience at the least, but nothing. They don't actually want your business. If they did, they would be open and ready to serve food at the time they say they will open. Twice burned. There will not be a third time. read more

We finally was able to try it. We came the day before and wanted to try it for a small snack/lunch, walked from Bull St/Bryant St to find out that Spudnik did not open till noon and it was only 11:25AM. I should of checked Yelp for the time first. Returned at 12:05pm and the door was still locked. How disappointing, I was in a mood for a good baked potato. We left and tried the Thai food place down the street. So today we tried it again (it was 5pm) and they were open. It was a nice little place and the guy was very friendly and helpful with the choice of toppings. I got the "Monterrey" and wife got the "BBQ Pulled Pork" and Kid got the "Classic with Bacon". It came out nice and hot and very well cooked potato. We all enjoyed our potato and it was very filling. No complaints here but a bit over priced. Well what do you expect in a tourist area :). When I walked in the place smelled great and was very clean. It was last Friday close enough to midnight. The young man/owner did not acknowledge me but continued to flirt in a female scads students face. This place sells russett and sweet potatoes in a cup/bowl with toppings. Being that potatoes is all they sell more toppings would be better. I had the bbq potatoes with shredded cheese, sour cream and butter . The way the potato is thrower in the bowl you can't get pass the skin. A russett potato is good unless fried. So I couldn't eat most of the potato because the cheese stuck it together. Eeeewwww. Do not know what was worse the service or the potato which is a horrible rendition of Sonnys or Rudy. These kids need to get it together because we are in the service industry and had no choice but to let our customers know about our horrible service experience.
