My experience here was wonderful! I decided to check this place out in a lunch break because... baked potatoes?!? Uh... yes please! I ended up getting the classic potato and it was delicious. Cheese, sour cream, bacon, chives, simple and delicious. The serving was quite large as well, I could only eat half. I will definitely be back to try another potato! The only reason I gave 4 stars is because of the lack of space in the restaurant while waiting for your potato. It is very small, only three booths inside, and very limited space to wait. I was either in someone's way getting to the trash can or trying to refill their drinks. I wish they had more of a designated area for waiting so you aren't in everyone's way. read more

This place has an interesting concept and could have a great product with its simplicity but it falls short. We came in around midnight and ordered three spuds. It took a while to put them together and the sole worker turned on his music loudly while he worked. It was difficult to have a conversation, the gnats were annoying, and the table was sticky. It's a cool concept - all manner of baked potatoes, and it's done well. I got the Sunrise and my dining partner got the Lonestar. The staff was friendly, and the potatoes were tasty. I've been in here twice now and will never go back. My friend ordered a dish that was clearly already cooked since the man went back for once second and came back with the completed meal. The second time we went in it took the associate literally 40 minutes just to put her order in because he was too busy talking about his life problems. We wanted to eat something we couldn't get in Miami and let me tell you, for being a potato, it was a potato done RIGHT. The potatoes are creamy, well seasoned, and delicious. They aren't skimpy with the toppings either. My husband ate all of his but I could eat mine in maybe two meals or share with one of the kids. The staff was very friendly. Super clean place. Spudnik is a small, cute, friendly potato shop located close to several SCAD buildings in an area that does not have alot of cheaper, on the go food options. There are several large booths inside if you rather stay and eat. They also offer beer specials on certain days. They have a wide array of both sweet and russet potato with a variety of toppings that are very filling. The classic is delicious especially with extra bacon. I also really love the Gobbler that has stuffing, gravy, turkey and cranberry sauce on top. The potatoes are soft and easy to eat and still have their skins. They also are vegan and vegetarian friendly and are supposedly owned by SCAD alumni. The staff is friendly and they are open till 3am TH-Sat. I just wish they were open a little bit later the rest of the week. read more

The food took quite a while and was just meh. What really made this review so harsh is that the one and only bathroom was disgusting. There was no toilet paper. There was a stack of napkins to use. And people would use that and put the dirty napkins in the trash can which stood open with the filthy lid up. There was no soap and no paper towels either. With just three booths the wait should not have been that long and it certainly wasn't so busy that the worker should have been able to keep up with the restroom. read more

I really, really, really want to love this place. I love baked potatoes and I love the concept of this restaurant. I especially love that it's open very late as we work late hours and don't always eat at normal people times. So, it was nice to find Spudnik open into the wee hours...but in doing so, we were among the drunks who didn't know how to hold their alcohol...or their ordered potatoes. The place was a full mess of drunk SCAD students yelling and screaming at each other and some throwing potato pieces across the room. Of course, this isn't exactly the restaurant's fault as if you're open late, you're going to attract those who are out late, as well. However, turning to the food, for what we paid -- for a potato and some toppings -- I thought the price didn't reflect the quality of what I received. If you're paying that much for a baked potato...it should be huge. It should be something you have to eat in two sittings. Mine was over-cooked, the skin was over-done, thick, and chewy, and it was impossible to eat it with plastic utensils. I broke three forks trying to get through the over-cooked skin. It may have just been the night we were there, but I was disappointed in the overall experience. Since then, I've kept a supply of baked potatoes on hand with all the fixings. One bag of potatoes, some sour cream, cheese, chives, bacon, and butter cost about half of what we spent in one meal. A fun idea, good novelty, but not fully there yet. This place is brand new! My husband and I had The Classic and Athenian potatoes. The menu is short and concise with regular and sweet potatoes. I recommend adding bacon if you're not vegetarian. This is a fantastic place if you're craving a spud (with all the fixin's) and a soda. Alcohol isn't available. Beautiful penny flooring. Staff is very polite. I discovered Spudnik completely by accident while walking back to my car parked in the courthouse garage this past Saturday night... Their logo was projected onto the side of the garage! As a proud Space Hipster, the name & logo caught my eye immediately, and when I realized their menu revolved around potatoes, I knew I had to stop in. I think the sign said they were open til 3am on Saturday?! I was actually surprised to find the small shop nearly empty around 11pm... I know I always crave carbs, especially potatoes, when I've been drinking (and the next morning), so given the crazy crowds less than 2 blocks away, I expected a line. Inside was cute & clean... And they have a fairly big menu - I had a hard time deciding! I chose the Sunrise, which is a large baked potato with cheese & chives, topped with a fried egg. Now, I had to wait a few minutes - I assume my potato was made-to-order. They also sell bottled beers - craft, I guess - I don't drink beer or ciders; they had a small selection of both. But my short wait was worth it (like 7 minutes)! By the time I got back to my hotel room about an hour later (others in my group wanted sushi on the way back), my potato was still quite warm & DELICIOUS. And I want to note that the cheese & chives seemed to be infused in the potato - not just on top! I could eat just this for any meal...and I can't wait to get back to Savannah to try a different potato. Or the same one. I've already begged them to franchise & open in Tampa. read more

A spot that sells strictly potato based food is something I could be on board with. You can cook a potato 50 different ways and I would be happy with all of them. Rule number one though, make sure the potato is not frozen. My experience here was very underwhelming. For such a simple concept of stuffing potatoes with different ingredients into a bowl you would think anyone could handle the task at hand. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The man in the leather jacket with matching leather hat was in charge of making the potatoes and taking the orders. After we ordered we waited around 20 minutes and never received our spuds. After bringing this to his attention in a most polite manner, he began to tell us we did receive our food and looked at us like we were peasants trying to get free stuff. We waited another 10 minutes and he still had not started to make our order. He offered us a stack of coupons which we declined, we just wanted to stuff ourselves with that warm starchy goodness. The bowls of spud came out after a total time of around 45 minutes, a task that should take no more than 10. The best part was after a near hour long wait for the food, the potato bowls were ice cold. shame. do better. read more

This place servers one thing potatoes sweet & russet and to my surprise they do them quite well. I really love loaded baked potatoes so I purchased the classic which comes with cheddar, sour cream, chives, & bacon . It was out of this world delicious & well worth the price of 6.90 plus tax & tip ! It's not worth it once you include the $20 parking ticket I received but hey it wasn't my fault the parking meter was broken I called the city . I work downtown, and one day someone from Spudnik came in and gave me a free potato bowl coupon and I also learned they give employees who work downtown (and SCAD Students) a 15% discount! *so awesome* So my fiancé and I decided to check it out, and boy was I glad we did! I had the Lonestar and it was amazing! It had beef chili w/pinto beans, cheddar cheese, tortilla chips and ranch dressing! Sounds crazy, but it seriously was amazing and possibly the best thing I've ever eating mixed with a potato! My fiancé had the BBQ pulled pork potato which he said was good but he also thought my Lonestar was out of this world! I highly recommend this place to any locals of Savannah or anyone coming to visit! They also have a pretty wide selection of beers if that what your looking for to go with your potato! Amazing dining experience. I loved the BBQ Pork Spud. I was there on Wednesday, Oct 9th. Savory flavors combined together in the BBQ Pulled Pork Spud. BBQ Pulled Pork, shredded cheese, crushed chips, sour cream all on a Spud. My mind could not handle the flavors; left me speechless at times. I am so glad they deliver. My new favorite lunch and dinner. Next time I will be a true foodie and take a picture. And the Service awesome. read more

Daughter has been wanting to try this place and was recommended by a local store owner so we had high hopes. Unfortunately, our experience was mediocre at best. We ordered 1 of the specials, potato with broccoli cheddar soup (was not hot, just luke warm), buffalo chicken potato and the deluxe salad. The salad was great nothing to complain about at all but neither of the potatoes were hot. And we're a bit underwhelming in flavor. The restaurant was empty at 1pm when we went which surprised me for a lunch time period. We ate inside. No napkins were available. I requested one and they gave me 3 individual sheets of select a size paper towels. Just didn't feel as if they were prepared to be open at all. How are there no napkins on the tables? I will say that the young girl at the counter was super nice. She ended up having to call her boss to come in bc the register wasn't working and he would have to take out money. Just not the positive first impression or experience I was expecting. I'm only visiting my daughter here in Savannah so this will he a one time only for me with so many other great options. We were so excited to hear about a potato restaurant. It was our first stop when we got to Savannah. I was surprised at how small the place was. But it did not disappoint. The young man working was extremely patient while we decided. The potatoes were creamy and delicious. The chicken was flavorful and tender. I so wish we had one of these close to where we live. OH! And they have post-its as wall art, all centered around potatoes, that we assumed was done by customers. We could have stood and looked at them for hours. Very entertaining. read more
