Coming from the city, I was truly hoping this would be my new donut place, especially with reviews from some locals. Sadly, this is owning the worst donuts I have ever had! This donut shop has been here forever. We have gone to this shop regularly for ages, their fruit filled donuts are a cash magnet for me and they're a dietary nightmare for everyone else in my house. Their other donuts particularly the apple spice and pumpkin donuts that come in Fall season are worthy of a box. The cost is well in line for donuts and they have good coffee to go with them if you're the type to dine in. The interior is pretty bare and screams old diner vibe. But the majority of people going here just run in grab donuts and go. If you're dining in then you're a regular to the place and it has the feel of a local tavern once you have a coffee in hand. The donuts are dense and heavy which is the opposite of let's say - a French cruller at Dunkin Donuts. I've really enjoyed the Bavarian cream, red velvet, and maple glazed. I wouldn't say that they have any over the top donuts - what they do have is a consistent line-up of solid, great tasting donuts that are perfect with a cup of coffee. This is my hometown donut shop, and when you walk inside it feels like that. A small TV in the top corner and a counter where older locals sit down for coffee. The donuts are incredible here. Typically a bit crunchier than your average donuts, the red velvet donut is to die for. The service is usually great, as they do a lot of hiring at the local high schools. read more

Spotted this donut shop out of the corner of my eye, turned around and went in. The donuts looked fantastic, but I couldn't see buying myself a half dozen, so I settled for three. The two citrus selections are gone. The lime and coconut donut was deelish. The powdered sugar and lemon filled was just the right amount of tart to sweet. Yummy. Talk about rude and incompetent. Went there at 2:40...apparently the only girl working there had to be on the phone for 20 minutes. Didn't know how her conversation ended cause I left. I was even second in line. Didn't acknowledge the existence of any of the customers there or say sorry, with you in a minute. Had her back turned the entire time. I HAVE BEEN THINKING ABOUT THIS PLACE ALL. DAY. LONG. I kid you not. In college, my friends and I had a favorite 24-hour donut place that we would visit at 2am because it had the best name ever (Jolly Pirate Donuts) and interesting customers. When I walked in here this morning, I was like OMGITLOOKSLIKEJOLLYPIRATE! I immediately fell in love. Local, 24-hour donut establishment with a cute name and barstools? What is there not to love?? My husband and I bought a box of dozen donuts and ate some while sitting at the counter. My personal favorites were the toasted coconut and cherry cake donuts. They were AMAZING. I was stuffing my face with them. Oh, and the great thing about these donuts is that they felt light in my stomach, not heavy and gross. I eventually ate my half of the dozen in one day. So healthy, I know. (OK, I eventually got a headache from all the sugar I consumed.) The clientele is different than the place I went to college, but that doesn't change anything for me. The people here are still interesting (and friendly)! Plus, there's no one smoking while they're drinking coffee at the bar, which is a huge plus for me. I need to come back here in the middle of the night and see what it's like. Who wants to join me? Oh, and another perk? They've got a great Yelp check-in deal. Since we're all going to die, I'm eating whatever the hell I want to and my body is telling me that I need to eat donuts before kicking the bucket. Spunky Dunkers was just what I needed to eat during my daily existential crisis/anxiety attack/Animal Crossing session. The variety at this shop is very good - daresay one of the best I've seen at a donut place in a long while. Hubs and I were taking forever trying to decide which flavors we wanted (there wasn't anyone behind us or distancing outside while we took our sweet time, which would have thereby added to the aforementioned anxiety attack) and everyone behind the counter was patient and offered suggestions. I'm not really sure what all we settled on but I remember that their chocolate buttercream was absolutely dreamy and their Samoa-inspired donut was in my all-time top five quarantine snacks. I've had a lot of quarantine snacks so that's a pretty major award. Prices were cheap and on par with donut shops in the area, unless you count Dunkin, which you shouldn't because their donuts are expensive and heinous.
