There's zero pushy sales bs, and nothing but genuine interaction. We ended up getting a Ripcurl spring suit, some Sticky Bumps, and checking out their huge selection of boards. I was anxious to get a "real" board, but the guy helping us was kind enough to tell me to slow my roll. My kids are on Wavestormers and still getting a feel for it, and the guy suggested not to rush them past that stage. Much appreciated advice, and it means I am 1000% coming back to ET when they *are* ready for new boards. There's a reason places like ET have been open for decades--they're doing it right in every respect.

Half the staff is really nice friendly and very helpful, especially the older staff. Half the staff needs to work on hospitality and customer service(specifically the younger girls that work there). Spyder is not a cheap store so getting good customer service and feeling welcome is always important to me. I'd like to warn anyone shopping for clothes about the store. I just recently bought a skirt on the sale rack that I noticed was damaged, ripped, missing a button when I got home. I called immediately when I noticed the damaged skirt. The sales associate remembered me and told me that was the reason it was on the sales rack, because it was damaged. And she said told me it was final sale. I worked in retail for 3 years and I think that's a horrible. Purposely selling damaged clothes for a small percentage off. Not cool. She should have offered me my money back. I spend a couple hundred dollars today on clothes that's the least she could do. Very disappointed today with the service unfortunately. So to anyone shopping be careful with sale items. The associate told me they put damaged items on the sale rack and they do not warn the guests that they are damaged when purchasing.... not good... Richard and Tamara totally resolved my issue. They apologized and gave me a full refund for my damaged skirt. I really do enjoy Spyder surf shop. And I always recommend my friends go check it out for surf equipment. However, I abhor their customer service. I bought a used pair of Terra 9s from eBay. After the brake fell off while in use (thankfully I was able to drag my skate to stop and wasn't hurt), I searched the internet and found out these skates had been recalled: http://www.cpsc.gov/en/Recalls/2006/LandRoller-Inc-Recalls-to-Repair-Roller-Skates/ When I tried to contact the company about the recall, I received no response. I finally had to do an email carpet bomb to all the common email addresses (info@, sales@, support@, abuse@, postmaster@, webmaster@...) before getting in touch with a representative, Barbie Johnson. She assured me that my skates were not part of the recall, and that the brake falling off was just bad luck and a loose bolt. So I asked about getting a replacement brake, and she assured me that the brake for the current model (Mojo) would fit my Terra 9 skates. So I sucked it up and ordered the $7 pad plus tax and an outrage-inducing $15.24 shipping. I told them in the comments field to ship via a USPS priority mail envelope, and they took me up on my advice (but still kept the additional $10 shipping. You're welcome.) And I would have been happy for them to do so since they did ship 2 brake pads instead of just one. But... THE MOJO BRAKE PAD DOES NOT FIT THE TERRA 9 SKATE. So my skates are now useless because Landroller cannot support their own product by selling me an essential piece of safety gear. I asked Barbie to let me return the brakes for a full refund. But despite my explicit request 3 weeks ago, a return authorization code and return shipping label have yet to appear. So I contested the charge with my credit card company. At this point I don't care how much better these skates are than Rollerblades. With customer service like this, I refuse do business with them.

Bit of a different review from everyone else for Olympus Board Shop: this is for their Onewheel…read morerental and sales! I came across them while looking for a local place to rent a Onewheel, the electric skateboards made by Future Motion. They're an authorized dealer; perfect, I'd rather buy local. I went to their website, and turns out they also rent! $70/day if less than 4 days, $60 for 5+ days. I wanted to try out a Onewheel before dropping $1k, so I texted and set a day to come by. They also require a 30min tutorial if you have no experience: perfect, I have zero experience and it'll be helpful to learn from a human. Tyler helped me do a few laps in the parking lot, let me borrow a helmet, and I went home to practice more. By the end of the rental period, I knew I wanted one of my own. After some back and forth, we got my order figured out and submitted. They applied the money I spent on the rental towards the purchase of a new board, I put down a deposit, and the wait began. Something to note: the owner, Jeremy, let me borrow a shop board until mine arrived. Due to some mix-ups with the delivery address, I ended up holding onto the shop board for weeks. I really appreciated having the extra time with the loaner and all the additional practice hours I got in. By the time my board arrived, I'd gotten a total of 18 miles in. For anyone else in my shoes - zero experience, nervous about spending so much, not sure if Onewheel is for you - this is the place to start. Rent first, learn on a loaner, buy when you're ready.

Wow these guys really stand behind their stuff!!! I brought in some flux bindings I had gotten…read morefrom then on a board a few years ago. A bolt had gotten loose and fallen out while I was boarding last weekend. They took a look at the joint, grabbed another binding, took out the matching bolt and captured nut, and spent 10 min rebuilding the joint, and checking all the other fasteners in the binding. They double checked the whole thing by comparing it to my matching binding from the other side and handed them back to me. I said to them "awesome, what do I owe you?", and they smiled and just said "you're good". Can't speak highly enough about Jeremy and the guys at Olympus. They'll always be my shop.
