Went here on the advise of other Yelpers, true the Welfleet oysters were amazingly fresh and delicious (best tasting oysters I had on this trip), but the beer selection is not really amazing. True it's probably the best beer selection in Ptown (definitely was of the places we went), but not really that great overall. We were happy - they had a couple good taps, we enjoyed the IPA and the belgian. Very cute place to pop in for a drink or a bite while in Provincetown. Very "homey" feel at the bar, loved the decor. Decent drink selection, extra points for the delish oyster shooter! These can be hit or miss, and at Squealing Pig it is a definite HIT! My friend and I need a place to drink before we eat. So this is the place to grab a drink and maybe some oyster shooters. I can't drink without eating something. I was gonna get their big bowl of $3.99 fries, but man... I am a bit overload on all the fried seafood. So the oyster shooters caught my eyes, $1.75 for each oyster, pricy but could be worse, I got two, side of horse radish, yum, cleared up my nose! Then few more pints of beer, hell, I was drunk. I think we changed seat few times just so we can check out this cute guy, or were the cute guys? I don't remember. This place was packed when we arrived, but we were seated fairly quickly and the wait service was attentive despite the crowds. The Squealing Pig is my absolute favorite gastro pub/ restaurant in Provincetown. It's casual and laid back. The staff is friendly, warm. Everything on the menu is delicious. Stand out items on the menu include: the seafood chowder, fish curry, lobster roll, and the oysters with the special spicy mignonette. They also have one of the best beer selections on draft in town with some great local New England brews. I was very pleasantly surprised to discover that they started offering breakfast. One of the best year round joints in P-Town. The rugs a large and juicy. The fries are hot and crisp. When you are not ready to drop $100 on a meal this is a good spot. They have a very large beer selection and serve Wellfleet Oysters on the half shell. read more

Got into town late night during the off season. Took a walk up Commercial street, and found a small selection of bars still open. Squealing Pig was the most inviting, and we weren't disappointed. Drinks were good, and the food was actually pretty good too. A couple decent vegetarian options, and fair prices across the board. My waitress also told me my ID was three years expired... even though it wasn't. After noting my disbelief, she looked again and saw that she had incorrectly read the issue date. Went here with a large group of friends on a Saturday night and was surprisingly accommodated within 10 minutes. We picked this place because the name tickled us all. But if you're expecting a squealing pig running around you're going to be disappointed. But the food...wowee!!! I ordered the tomato soup which was seasoned perfectly with a hint of basil. Light and delicious. I also had the Cajun chicken sandwich which was scrumptious and served with a side of really good fries. The Cape Cod Fish Fry was absolutely amazing! They make their own tartar sauce which is one of the best I have ever tasted. It is a whole in the wall type place. The beer selection was impessive. Most recent trip here was last night for St. Patty's day and the place was certainly bumpin, most people were there for the local live band who was very good. I've also eaten here a few times as well and the food has been great every time and the staff is really friendly without feeling forced and corporate. The thing I suggest you try if venture to the Pig is the Hog Burger, it's an 8 o.z. burger with gorgonzola, bacon, carmelized onions and topped with chipotle sauce, all I really can say is this thing is BANGIN. According to the staff they're going to have the world cup matches on this summer which should make this place a sure fire haunt for most. read more
