Went early for dinner 3:00. Very unwelcoming. Had to sit at the bar to wait fo a table. They were all empty. Bartender asked for drink order , then made drinks for Others for 10 min and asked again for drink order. Got a table 15 mins from entering . Friends showed waited over 15 minutes more. No one showed up once seated for at least 15 minutes. We all 4 gave up and walked out. Worst service in Cocoa Beach of any restaurant been too. The only thing nice is the fish out front , will never be back . 3rd time we've visited this place and all 3 times have been similar. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I have never been more disappointed in service than I was tonight. I will NEVER be coming back to this restaurant. Let's start out with the server bringing my food threw a set of silverware at me after I politely asked for some. On top of this the bartender, was extremely short with my parents and I and we practically had to flag her down to place an order for food or drink. She made us close out our tab before we even got our food which was horrible and disgusting and we didn't eat it. My parents and I used to love squid lips as we live here, but I will not be coming back after the unforgivable service I had tonight. This was our first visit to a Squid Lips! If our server would have been better, I would have given the place 5 stars! The atmosphere was awesome!! It's right on the ocean, there was a live band, it was cool this evening with a nice breeze off the ocean, & the food was amazing! But our server was extremely slow! I asked 3 times to have the shade put down because the sun was blinding me but it NEVER was done! It took us FOREVER to get our check! & when we did he messed it up & then it took him 2 different time to get it corrected with more than 15 minutes between each attempt!! Ridiculous!!! I received a $20 birthday coupon so our family gave this squid lips a try. The AC is only felt in the part of the restaurant that was closed. We ate outside. Pretty view, unfortunately the smell of B.O. was extremely strong. The music was only playing on one side of the deck. Not enough fans , and it was battle of the fly's... then there was the food, $21.99 for 6 over cooked shrimp (last two still had pieces of shell on them), a bowl of over steamed vegetables and under cooked fry's. $10.99 for a burger patty (no bun) with a piece of cheese and under cooked fry's .25 cent for a little pickle spear, and $8.99 for bland queso dip with a side of stale chips :0( so the $7.00 draft beer served in maybe a 10oz plastic cup isn't enough to wash this bad taste out of your mouth. We enjoyed chips and queso, coconut onion chips, cajun bacon wrapped scallops and blue cheese & balsamic tater chips. The scallops and tater chips were absolutely delicious. We had a great night out on the deck, enjoying the sunset over the Banana River and sipping on some extremely tasty fruity drinks; exactly the evening we had been craving. The menu is huge! Can be overwhelming, but everything we tried was really tasty. We started with the cracked conch - a tasty fried treat with a really great aioli-like dipping sauce. Our group got the bahama mahi, the stuffed flounder, and an oak-grilled mahi sandwich. Service was great -speedy and attentive. Food was really tasty and well-prepared (light, flaky fish, great mix of veggies on the side, everything really well-seasoned). All of this and the great view! Our family finally were able to vacation in Florida! We have been trying for 3 yrs! Squid Lips was a spot that our grandson wanted us to try. He has been there before and loved it. So off we went. Our grandson dropped a green crayon in the water about 4 yrs ago. We told him we were sure there would be a green cat fish. So when our server came to us he introduced himself (sorry can not remember his name) and said "have you heard about the legendary green cat fish?" Well the look on our grandson's face was priceless~ The food was so good! The recommendations the server made were spot on! I finally got to eat mahi mahi! Some of the brave souls tried gator! Everyone at squid lips was super friendly. Sat at the bar area since it was pouring down rain and we couldn't sit on the deck. Seemed like every table there would have a great view of the ocean. The bar tender came and took our orders. He was a very friendly guy and had a great personality (and great drink recommendations). They had a good happy hour selection. We only had The wings and they were great. Very Chrispy. The orange chipotle glaze was amazing and comes highly recommended. If it is pouring down rain I wouldn't recommend going. Go on a sunny day so you can watch the sunset over the ocean from the deck. (We hear from locals it's amazing.) Not to mention the parking lot floods if it's pouring. We used to love the old Jack Baker's restaurant before it went downhill so we were excited when Squid Lips moved into the building after Jack Baker's closed. Unfortunately, we were disappointed once we finally ate here. There were seven in our party and all of us are seafood lovers. All but one of us ordered pretty common meals that we've had elsewhere. Unfortunately, our meals ranged from average to below average. Seasoning was poor, pasta was over-cooked, and some of the seafood didn't taste very fresh. The service was excellent, but with so many great seafood places in the area I can't imagine ever going back to Squid Lips, unfortunately. read more

This was another recommended stop on our trip. Apparently the deck area in the back was recently rebuilt, but between the semi-transparent roofing material and the fans not being installed yet, it was too hot even sitting out of the sun and by the water. Others we talked to during the rest of our stay said the same thing, but I'm sure once the fans are installed it will be better. Other than that one little issue that I won't let affect my review too much, the service was top notch and extremely accommodating (thanks, Mike). I had the buffalo shrimp wrap, and it was awesome, absolutely stuffed with shrimp and wrapped with key lime habanero sauce and bleu cheese slaw. Outstanding patio with waterfront view! Great place for outdoor appetizers and cocktails. The koi pond at entry is beautiful and adds an element of fun. The key lime martini is a must try. The calamari, fish fingers, and mountain of shrimp that was ordered by my table was all fresh and cooked perfectly. Good size portions. The teriyaki grilled mahi sandwich was over seasoned and the bun was too large with the pineapple being canned. The menu is quite large with a vast amount of fried food. I'd love to see it pared down and offering more grilled and/ or healthier options. This is not a place to go for a grilled fish salad. read more

Okay so we went to Squid Lips via our boat..that was our first mistake. The dock was loaded in bird crap and had obviously never been cleaned. The outside patio has been under construction for two years, so the majority of it was closed. The wait staff were rude and impatient. While in Cocoa Beach for work we found Squid Lips on Yelp. We wanted to enjoy a nice dinner and enjoy a spot on the water. Well squid lips has a nice spot in the water but that's really where the good stops. Let's start with the hostess, she acted like we were bothering her that she had to find us a place to sit, we asked if they had a spot outside by the water and you would have thought we asked the impossible. Well let's move on, the waiter at first was very friendly, recommended drinks and food, We ordered the Bacon wrap scallops and a large salad. The scallops shortly came out brought out by a kitchen runner. Dropped them off but no salad, we inquired from them as our waiter never returned once drinks were delivered earlier. Finally after we had finished the scallops the salad showed: our waiter never came back to the table until it was time to collect the money. I will say the food was very good, expensive but good. I know in this current environment it's very difficult to find good help right now, and a restaurant needs to man the staff with really just warm bodies and unfortunately that's what's happened here apparently. From the host to the wait staff it's apparent they could care less, while the food is tasty I would have a hard time recommending to a friend!!!! read more

This spot is so cool there are coif fish that you can feed for only a quarter. There's this big long Doc that you could walk out on and feed the cat fish to. You can sit inside or outside and the food is good. read more
