Old florida. Simple flavors. Variety of sauces. Flies everywhere. Waitress was not in a hurry for anything. Good choices on the menus even non fish items. Salad was fresh. Fresh catch was ok. Seafood lasagna had about 5 pieces of Seafood in it. Drunken sweet potato was huge and sweet and over cooked on the side

This place is so great. I'm writing the review as I eat the food. I called ahead of time to make sure that it would be open during this holiday weekend and was glad to hear that they were. The place was easier to find and there was parking in a safe and clean parking lot. That's a nice touch . I was graded as soon as I walked in and directed to the bar, which is admittedly, my favorite place to sit. I had looked at the menu ahead of time and ask some clarifying questions to Lyndsay, my server. She was knowledgeable, personable, and amicable. She walked me through the answers with what felt like genuine amiability. I worked in the service industry for years. I'm talking front of house and back of house; sometimes customer service can be feigned, other times it is true geniality. Lyndsay earned this place its fifth star on the caliber and quality of customer service. This feels like a great place to have lunch or dinner or sit back and watch the game. I'm glad to be here and looking forward to coming back.

Sat right away, nice ambiance throughout the place. I was looking forward to some fresh fish for lunch but they don't offer the dinner entrees at lunchtime. No lunch only menu mentioned on their website. I heard another couple by us complaining about the same thing. I ended up with blackened chicken, my spouse got the Mahi Mahi sandwich which was delicious. Fries were hot and crisp too.

Key lime martini was meh. Didn't really enjoy it. Ordered salad with grilled shrimp. Shrimp were obviously frozen and had some strange sauce to mask it. Lunch menu is not very exciting. Mostly fried food options. Wouldn't go back.

I had to go back and amend my review from 3* to 4* because the manager direct messaged me and cared enough to be concerned. Very rare to find that commitment to be better and much respect. The bacon wrapped scallops deserve 4* and I would suggest one of the platters as they looked amazing at the table over from me. The fritters (donut holes with powdered sugar north of the mason-Dixon) are DANGEROUS and endless it would seem.

We came here for lunch after a fishing trip. The service was excellent and it's a great vibe with indoor seating (with a view) or outdoor seating. Highly recommend the conch fritters! They had such a great crispy batter. The rest of the food was sort of what you would expect for a beach type bar. I think you come to a place like this for the vibe, the views, and probably the drinks! Also our server was great!

    Grouper sandwich.

I decided to give this place another try after 2 years, especially since I received a birthday coupon. Honestly, I now remember why I had skipped my previous coupons. The grouper sandwich was $19.99 and came with potato chips, lettuce, tomato, and onion. The bun was bigger than, the fish fillet (maybe a 4-5 oz). While it was seasoned nicely (blackened). it wasn't fully cooked through--flaky in some spots, but mostly undercooked. From the picture, that's the blackened seasoning and it was a bit dark inside. There was more topping than fish, which left me disappointed. If I had to actually pay full price for the fish, this would have been a lower review. Since the fish portion was small, I also ordered wings because I was still hungry. I knew they were breaded, but they ended up being dry, and to top it off, they charged extra for the tiny plastic cup of blue cheese. It was only $.50, but if I had known, I would have passed. However, the wings were palatable. I ordered them because of the wings special. On the positive side, the drinks were solid--well-priced and on point. The service was good, the staff friendly, awesome inter-coastal view, and the place itself has a lot of character with a fun vibe. For that reason, I'd still suggest stopping in for the drinks, ambience, and service. But when it comes to the grouper sandwich, I'd recommend skipping it.

Food was great, plenty of seafood dishes, atmosphere was very coastal, prices not bad for the location. Have been here 3 times now. Free parking but fills up fast . Did not see a lunch menu, not sure if they have one. Forgot to ask

The service was great here and so was the majority of the food. The located and crab burger waa amazing. Very tasteful. The citrus salmon had great flavor as well as the stuffed shrimp. The portion was a great size too so it was very filling. Our waitress was very polite and was on point with everything. The only downside was what they called the shrimp and lobster Mac n cheese. Unfortunately the shrimp were not fresh and you can tell they were the frozen precooked kind just tossed with the Mac and cheese. Im still currently looking for the lobster because this dish definitely didn't have it. It seemed like it was langostine instead and very overcooked as well. I was disappointed because I was really looking forward to this dish. Besides the Mac and cheese everything else was very good and I would still come again but maybe order something else instead.

Fun fun fun we have always thought about going to Squid Lips but had never tried it until today. How do you describe a restaurant that has indoor dining, outdoor dining on a deck and beach dining where you can sit at a table in the sand. The atmosphere is casual and "beachy"with on this day live music. We started our lunch with two 22 oz beers, after all we we sitting on a deck by a bar with live music, (you gotta have a beer). We started with conch fritters a perfect match with the beer. They were hot crispy outside yet fluffy and flavorful inside with lots of conch. I tried the Mahi Rueben it seemed fresh and well made. We also had fried shrimp which were also very good. Both portions were large and nicely presented. Our server was very knowledgeable and efficient. Overall this was a surprisingly good experience and meal at a reasonable price.

Can I reserve for a large party for a Celebration of Life, or similar group event?

Yes, they have large group areas.

Do you offer any in-house catering for an event?

We do do not provide catering at this time

What is on the kids menu? I see all the options for adults but nothing for kid options.

They’re able to adjust any portion for kids so tinder’s, etc can be made in a size for children. They don’t specifically list a kids menu but are able to adjust for you.

Does it smell fishy? I'm with someone who cannot stand the smell of seafood (like raw shrimp, briny fish, etc) so I just want to make sure it smells okay.

    Not in the slightest.

Do you have a children's menu?

    Of course!

**INITIAL REVIEW**…read more It is only fitting that I check out another breakfast/brunch place with the iconic American breakfast staple "biscuit" mentioned in their name. As for such locales within the Space Coast, this is the third one (off the top of my head) I have had the pleasure to dine in, right after "Oh" and "Twisted." So was Grumpy's Biscuits (which I will shorthand simply to Grumpy's for the remainder of this review) just another fine establishment to add to other fine breakfast estabishments here on the coast that shoots off rockets, or did they standout. I am happy to review that Grumpy's has enough subtlety to standout without smashing the competition. That is something I admire because I prefer options within harmony, Competition amongst competitors to improve one's self. Even though an address is provided, Grumpy's is located on Highland Ave., just north of the westbound part of Eau Gallie Blvd. within the EGAD. If it helps, it is right across the street from the EGAD Civic Center. First and foremost, the building Grumpy's is located in is an iconic landmard within the EGAD. Grumpy's shares the building with other businesses in which they occupy the southernmost business space, which is quite small with a small indoor eating area and a small outdoor patio with each table having individual umbrellas for shade or rain cover. It fits as Grumpy's is said in two phrases: "simple and trendy" and "cozy." The workers and owner are friendly and hospitable, and they assisted me in deciding on what to eat, which they have given each of their biscuits/sandwiches/etc. a female name. I chose "Lisa," a breakfast biscuit consisting of bacon, over easy egg, smoked gouda, mixed greens, and housemade balsamic glaze. Couple of notes about this amazing biscuit, the bacon were thick cut and candied. Truly amazing. And the balsamic glaze. Whatever their recipe is, it is amazing. I could definitely have that on many a meal. Yes, I know exactly how I wrote that! As for the coffee, I got an iced coffee which is premade and ready-to-serve. They use half-and-half and stevia in the raw. Ergo, the coffee was what I wanted. Finally, the restroom. Take note the "water closet" is outside in the hallway. Since the restaurant is small, it is a single-server. Fortunately, it was stocked and clean. There was also an "ambiance" of class, which is nice given the fact the restaurant is... well... small... and the restroom is probably shared with the other businesses, too. Ultimately, Grumpy's was an amazing initial visit and I look forward to visiting them again. Since this is the first and only time (so far) I have been here, I will give them four out of five stars. After a couple more visits, if they stay consistent, I will add their fifth star for consistency.

Now to be fair it was a to-go order so when I got to work it wasn't as fresh maybe as it should. I would try it again, next time maybe add butter to the biscuit, a little less egg and cheese that is melted somewhere on it.

Just had beers at this visit, and they were ICE COLD! But last time we came we had the wings. Let me tell you! I used to own a bar in Dallas that legit had the best wings in town. Well - this is the only place in town that I feel could compete with what we used to make. SUPER crispy and amazing flavor. Not weird or chewy. Just spot on. I wish this spot could expand a little so it wasn't such a straight shot interior. It would be nice if there were more cozy spaces and corners to relax in for awhile. But that's my only complaint. Unfortunately, there won't be a fourth…read more The first two times I came in, I sat at the bar for roughly 20 minutes without anyone even acknowledging me, much less taking an order. Both times, I finally gave up and left. Tonight I decided to give it one more try. It's beachfront, it's a beautiful location, and I really wanted to like this place. I ordered the salmon, which was around $30. It was so dry I couldn't eat it, and it tasted freezer-burned to me. The sauce tasted manufactured rather than fresh, the rice was fine, and the green beans were completely bland. I took essentially one bite and stopped eating. What made it worse was the service. My virtually untouched dinner sat in front of me for several minutes without anyone checking to see whether everything was okay....even though the restaurant was not remotely busy and appeared to have plenty of staff. I also ordered a spicy skinny margarita, which was surprisingly syrupy-sweet. I drank it because I wasn't about to let perfectly good tequila go to waste, but it wasn't a good margarita. To their credit, when someone finally came over and I explained that I couldn't eat the salmon, they removed the entrée from my bill. I appreciated that and think it's important to mention it. But three visits tell a story. Twice I couldn't get served at all. The third time I finally got served, but the food, cocktail, and attentiveness were all disappointing. For a beachfront restaurant at this price point, I simply expect better. Great location, enormous potential, but based on my three experiences, I won't be back. The best thing that happened tonight was meeting a fellow writer sitting next to me at the bar. Unfortunately, Tide & Tonic can't take credit for that. It gets a 1 star as bartender was so very sweet about it all.

This means nothing fancy. Good people, good food, good prices. I think I can safely say this is literally the best corned beef hash ever. So over the top good with homemade corned beef. I wanted more. My wife had one of their Bennies. She loved it too. Next time we are in the area, we will try them for lunch.

Banana River Cafe is proof that the smell of bacon can make you forgive almost anything…read more First, a fun fact: they're operated by a CIA graduate. No, not that CIA. The Culinary Institute of America. Our daughter actually graduated from their Baking & Pastry program in San Antonio, so we were already inclined to give the place a try. But I digress. The moment you walk in, the smell of bacon smacks you right in the face. In the best possible way. So. Dang. Good. We stopped in on a busy Sunday afternoon. The dining room was hopping. A few tables could have been bussed a little quicker, my chair needed a quick swipe-down before I sat, and there were a few chips hanging out on the floor. Normally I'd notice those things more, but then the bacon smell hit again and suddenly none of it seemed quite as important. I ordered two perfectly cooked over-medium eggs, sliced tomatoes (instead of potatoes), and a biscuit. I chose the biscuit over toast or an English muffin with absolutely no intention of eating it. My plan was to take it home for one of the kids. Then I took one bite. Friends, this was THE best biscuit I have ever eaten in my entire life. I don't throw around statements like that lightly. If you visit Banana River Cafe and order absolutely nothing else, order the biscuits. They deserve their own Yelp page. My husband got what I think was called the Power Bowl--a delicious-looking pile of rice, beans, carnitas, and all the ingredients that make a great burrito bowl. Our son absolutely housed his French toast. Our daughter ordered the Rosemary Chicken Salad Wrap with pasta salad. I sampled the chicken salad. It had a whisper of rosemary. A polite suggestion of rosemary. A rosemary cameo appearance. If you're going to call it Rosemary Chicken Salad, I'd personally vote for a little more rosemary. My daughter loved it, though. She also loved the pasta salad but wasn't a fan of the Parmesan sprinkled on top. If Parmesan must be involved, let's keep it to the kind that comes from a block and not the green plastic shaker. Just my two cents. The staff was friendly, service was great, and soda refills appeared before we even had to ask. I also loved the local artwork displayed throughout the restaurant. Every piece has a price tag, so if something catches your eye, you can literally take it home with you. Great food, great service, incredible biscuits, and enough bacon aroma to improve your mood instantly. We'll definitely be back.
