The first time I went here, I wasn't impressed. Now couple months later they have definitely improved. The ceviche tasted great and was put in these little plantain cups. The plating was nice and aesthetically pleasing. The only thing I wasn't impressed by was the Lomo Saltado which is my favorite Peruvian dish (very basic I know). I am sadly giving this place less stars today because of my experience last night. I had been craving a ceviche for months. I have visited Sr Ceviche in the past and had pretty good food. So yesterday, on my birthday I had my parents and I go to eat yummy food. Well the dinner turned out to be a bit frustrating with a few factors. -the customer service was a bit dry -food prices seemed to have gone up -On Facebook they posted if it is your birthday, you earn a free house wine- when I asked about this offer no one knew it existed. My waitress looked at me in shock that anything would be free. But once I showed her my Facebook, showing this is true, she gave me the wine. -When done with our food, it took the waitress over 20 mins. to give us the check and let us pay and leave I was getting annoyed toward the end, because it was more crowded inside and there were only 3 waiters. Our waitress became MIA after we finished our food. I did not even get a celebratory happy birthday song singing or candle after I had mentioned in the beginning that we were celebrating a birthday. I would have appreciated a bit more friendly and warm customer service. Also the dessert I love is now $6. For about 5 spoonfuls of a mousse. Not sure if I will return here anytime soon. read more

Oh wow!!! This place is awesome. I love Peruvian food and I like to try them all. What's different about this place is their enormas plates. I had ceviche because who goes to a place named Sr. Ceviche and doesn't try the ceviche. I also ordered lomo saltaldo my favorite dish which I am very critical of. Lastly, I had a side of their roccoto sauce and 2 cusqueñas, Peruvian beer. I was not disappointed at all with anything the service perfect, beers cold and served with fresh cold mugs, ceviche was to die for and huge good enough for 2 people. I only wanted to try the ceviche, but I ate the whole plate. The lomo was outstanding melted in your mouth soft. The rocotto was spicy and good as it should be. Today I wanted to grab some ceviche becuase I had a late night yesterday (it helps with the hangover! haha) and I remembered that a fellow Peruvian friend that works with me had mentioned to me not long ago that the "best ceviche he's had in Miami" was from Sr. Ceviche (the Aventura location), I didnt know though that the Sr Ceviche he had mentioned to me was the same restaurant brand that I've been to in Pembroke Pines as well! It's a nice small restaurant, that's clean and has good service and clean atmosphere. The Ceviche was delicious, it's nice to find good Ceviche in the South Broward area. The Jalea was good, especially the fried fish. The Octopus Causa was okay, I'm comparing it to Ceviche 105's version which I love, however at least the portion size was bigger at this restaurant. On 12/28/19 we visited Sr. Ceviche in Pembroke Pines as we do at least 3 times monthly for the last 3yrs., including take-out. A total group of 5 of us (not 9 as the receipt incorrectly states.) count our meals and drinks!! We ordered an appetizer Jalea and dinner. Order came up to $146.25 plus 8.19 taxes. We had purchased a Groupon for $70.00 worth of food to be deducted from bill. The service was mediocre at best although some of our food was good. Upon completing our dinner, we asked for the check to pay. We were never allowed to see the original check by the cashier, not even our waitress. Upon mentioning the Groupon, she took our phone wallet from us along with the original receipt which she never allowed us to look at to the back somewhere (non-visible) and came back saying she had done the adjustment and the total was $117.00. She handed me a portable POS terminal and card reader and lured me to make a selection to add an additional percent of gratuity, despite having arbitrarily charged already an 18% and it being part of the $117.00 total, she verbally mentioned. Thus, unknowingly I added an 18% gratuity, which totaled a 36% gratuity. I thought something did not seem right and her avoidance to give us the original or even updated receipts just did not seem kosher. The service and some of the food was definitely not worth a 36% gratuity and her deceiving manner just disgusted us all. We do not like to have to give such negative feedback on a place we've been visiting for as I said almost 3 yrs, but this is totally unethical, and extremely deceiving of customers. We are so very disappointed that we don't think we'll be back to this location. Sad, sad, sad.... BTW- I asked her for both receipts upon getting up and prior to leaving, because her entire demeanor wreaked rotten!!! So, here I'll include copies of both receipts. See for yourselves. We take our friends and visiting family there all the time. The ceviche is beyond amazing. I usually order the fish with tamarind sauce with the cilantro cheesy rice. Heaven in every bite. The ceviche mixto is sooooo good. I'm giving 5 stars even though every time We go they have no idea who we are when we have been there A LOT. My wife and I were flying into Ft Lauderdale and renting a car to drive to Miami. Leaving the airport I was perusing this app and saw Sr Ceviche. I had never had Peruvian ceviche and the menu looked fantastic. Even at 3:45 on a Sunday the place was packed and everything we saw looked amazing. We picked out the papa a huicana, the traditional ceviche and the ceviche al rocoto. The papas were potatoes smothered in a creamy, vaguely cheesy sauce. Kind of intense but definitely tasty. Both the ceviches were absolutely fantastic, full of fresh seafood, red onion, corn and a roasted sweet potato. The big difference was the pepper used in the broth as the rocoto version was spicier and less nuanced than the almost citrus notes of the limo pepper in the classic broth. I love ceviche. For 12 bucks, you can get a dreamy bowl of the Ceviche Clasico, which is just the right amount of spicy with a generous portion of fish. It also comes with a cinnamon yam. One of my friends loves the yams, so we asked for an extra portion once to pair with the fish, and they were super accommodating. I've also had the Parihuela, which is a type of seafood soup, which is also very good and a large portion. However, between the two, I prefer ceviche. This place is legit. It's pretty unassuming from the outside, and seems to attract a lot of families (hint, there will be a screaming child at some point during your meal). As a non-Peruvian, I can't gauge if the taste is authentic but it's definitely some of the best I've ever had. The only sadness I have is not frequenting this place more despite having lived in Broward for almost 2 years now.
