I love ceviche. For 12 bucks, you can get a dreamy bowl of the Ceviche Clasico, which is just the right amount of spicy with a generous portion of fish. It also comes with a cinnamon yam. One of my friends loves the yams, so we asked for an extra portion once to pair with the fish, and they were super accommodating. I've also had the Parihuela, which is a type of seafood soup, which is also very good and a large portion. However, between the two, I prefer ceviche. This place is legit. It's pretty unassuming from the outside, and seems to attract a lot of families (hint, there will be a screaming child at some point during your meal). As a non-Peruvian, I can't gauge if the taste is authentic but it's definitely some of the best I've ever had. The only sadness I have is not frequenting this place more despite having lived in Broward for almost 2 years now. My boyfriend is Peruvian and he brought me here for my first taste of Peruvian food. The waiters were sweet and the owner was nice (maybe it was just because my boyfriend knows them). Now, this review is based on my first time there which was awhileeeee ago and I've only been there two times after that and don't even remember what I had. So we had ceviche (not even sure which one, but i took a picture!), arroz con leche, and chicha to to drink. Not really much food because we weren't that hungry. But it was delicious! Now, I don't know how certain Peruvian dishes are supposed to taste because I'm not Peruvian.... But yeah, it was delicious! And I love then chicha drink. Came to breakfast on Sunday morning. We had the Desayuno Lurin, which is a traditional Sunday Peruvian breakfast. The plate consists of a tamale stuffed with chicken, fried pork chunks and thinly sliced sweet potatoes. I've had this about 4 times in my life and each time I love it just the same. The food is incredible and leaves you more than full. Also had the pescado saltado, which is more for lunch and dinner, but I couldn't resist. The pescado saltado is well seasoned diced fish in a sauce with spices and mixed with onions and French fries and served over rice. Overall, the ambiance is modern and homey, staff is very attentive and polite. Will be coming back many more times. read more

I stopped in for some takeout ceviche. It took a second to spot it because there was renovation going on in the front. The very lovely young women of the staff were very nice, hard working and immediately got to work on my order. I only had to wait for a could minutes. Very good food at reasonable prices. Almost everything I had there is worth repeating. I had a couple of dishes that could be way superior but they were still good. The mahi mahi with tamarind sauce could be way better if the fish wasn't completely overcooked for example, but the cilantro rice that comes with it its excepcional. We love the seafood tacu tacu, the tamales, lomo saltado, papas a la huacaina and tallarines verdes with skirt steak. We are not the biggest fans of their ceviche, the cuts need a bit more finese, the corvina is sometimes chewy. My main complaint about this place is the service. I don't mind people making mistakes but when I place an order and see that they missed items I expect an apology and a refund, instead I got attitude and someone telling me I wasn't telling the truth. Other times we have gotten great service but honestly, it's about a 50-50 chance; it depends on their mood. I have reposted reviews here when I see things improve so hopefully my future visits to Sr Ceviche are more pleasant. read more

Slow-cooked shredded chicken with potato in a creamy fresh garlic sauce. No garlic powder here! Served with rice boiled with fresh garlic. On the side was a big Peruvian olive. It was Peruvian comfort food. Silky, garlicky sauce, perfectly cooked chunks of potato that held their form in the mixture. Just a simple great dish. Churrasco a lo pobre: grilled, Peruvian seasoned skirt steak on top of "frites" (French fries) topped with an egg! The fries soak up some of the steak juices & are a pleasant addition to the dish. There is a side of sweet plantains which are a perfect compliment to the savory steak. They served it also with a side of the garlicky rice in the shape of a pyramid! A visual treat. The menu is large, the staff & patrons are Peruvian & speak Spanish & English. The menu is varied & each dish is explained well. Staff was very accommodating & kind. I highly recommend coming here. I live close to this spot so I've gone a few times as the food is good. However I refuse to go anymore , the last 3 times the service has been terrible and the food is overpriced . This last time, we arrived at the restaurant and they told us there was no tables available, visibly there was a table for 4 ( we were 2) and when I asked to sit there , the restaurant staff said " no we're waiting to see if 4 people come so you can't sit there ". I asked to speak to the manager and they told me no that they weren't going to sit us there . As a frequent visitor I found it extremely inconvenient that they weren't willing to sit us down in the table for 4 or even let us speak to the manager . Little gem! This place is very authentic and welcoming. The owner comes around each table and asks how things are. A staple of a good restaurant. I've been here on Saturday nights at 8:30pm and even tho is always busy, there always seems to be a table available. Food wait time is decent for a delicious meal. For fast food, go to a drive thru. And is not too extensive a wait either. I suggest trying their passion fruit pisco sour. The cinnamon takes this to the next level. Have ordered the Chaufa de Mariscos, beef and chicken saltado, ceviche classico, and ceviche de mariscos: always fresh tasting and on point with the flavors. Sooo went back years later, I was dieing for sea food and I was in this area. Haven't been back because I moved and my past experience. Once again food is really good. I just don't understand the customer service. I'm all for equality, but make sure the person who picks up the phone speaks English correctly. I made a order here when they first opened and they got that wrong. I was invited back like a week later which was nice but I never even went back took it as a loss. I come back years later, I started working out and wanted to eat clean so I ordered a bowl, asked for white fish. I get home and it's everything but white fish. Mind you I paid the 26 bucks with out a blink of an eye because I don't mind paying for fresh. The lady took my order was super nice and asked if I wanted it fresh from the sea or frozen. Which I guess what made it the 26 dollars. Long story short I get home it's not the right order. I'm 39 min away from the place I told the lady I'll bring this plate back tomorrow I don't want it I'm the only one who eats sea food here and I don't eat what you put in here. She tells me no problem keep it come get your bowl u want toMorrow. I go in I get it of course with big problems because the ladies there have a hard time with English. Then I notice the price difference from 26 my dish should only have been 16. I bring up the 8 dollar difference now that's a problem. Food was good. Nice restaurant. Started with smoothies. Asked many times, no added sugar. The waiter called over to have me explain this to another server. The lady held up sugar and pointed to it. I said no sugar and shook my head. She asked if I was sure. I assured her fruits were sweet enough on their own merit. As she was making it, she came back and asked, "little bit sugar?" I replied, "no sugar". She brought me the smoothie and set it on front of me saying, "no sugar" and waited for me to taste it. The smoothie was strawberries, banana, and mango. It was very sweet. Hubby ordered jalea. My cousin had the lomo saltado and her daughter had a macho fish that was a heavy creamy sauce with seafood over a piece of fish. I asked for my ceviche to come extra extra hot. These words I knew (!!!!). "Muy muy picante," I said. Picante? The server replied. MUY picante. The citrus marinade had no pepper at all. Maybe something was lost in translation. I called the server and asked for picante again. He gave me sauce. Do you have any peppers? Habeñero? Jalepeño? Then got some chopped peppers with seeds and a red sauce. I put both on to the awe of the server. After which it was good. (For ceviche I recommend J72) The jalea was yummy :-) My cousin gets the lomo from la granja regularly. She said this one was too salty. It was also half the size of la granja's serving. Her daughter enjoyed her fish too. On a whole, la Granja has larger servings, for less money and you get what you order. I thought this was a nice restaurant, but no step above its "fast" food competitor. This place was just awful. 1, the lady didn't even speak English. My family doesn't understand it. I told her they don't and she still spoke Spanish. The food? We spent $80 on a meal that had a bottle of wine that a box of wine would have been better, the ceviche was ehh. I've been to a million Peruvian restaurants and this one was really great. The service was wonderful and attentive. The food was really great compared to most Peruvian restaurants almost as good as my mom's and my home cooking heh. We had the Jalea Mixta delicious! The tacu tacu con lomo saltado mmmmmm! And the aji de gallina was amazing just under spicy lol. They had 2 hot sauces that were really good and their Huancaina sauce tasted just like mine but again underspicy. Drinks: CHICHA MORADA (made from purple corn, yes its actually purple corn that grows in Peru) , LUCUMA ( a thick juice mixed with milk), and MARACUYA (passion fruit juice). Entrees: PESCADO A LO MACHO, right on point with also some shrimp, calamaris, clams and shrimp. The LOMO SALTADO is great if you want to go with something traditional. The cut is perfect , very tender, not chewy like other places, fries were crispy and the sauce is just perfect. I would recomend the CAUSA WITH LOMO, a non traditinal fusion. To give you a an idea is like having a LOMO SALTADO with MASHED POTATOS instead of the white rice. But its not the mashed potato you are used to, these are made from peruvian potatos, a whole better taste than your idaho potatos. you cannot go wrong with this. FINALLY ,,.even tho it is not on the MEnu, they accommodate KIDS. Ask your server for the kids dishes , which are the usual chicken tenders, fries and couple others.
