    Fresh baked treats and bagels

Kudos and big SHOUT OUT to Panera in Chesterfield Valley for their customer "care"!! We were at fault for missing our pick-up on a takeout order; after calling them a day later, the Manager without hesitancy replaced our order (at no charge)! How's that for personal service and building loyalty with their customers, wow! We enjoy Panera's experience, and go regularly whenever we want a fresh, simple and lighter meal. Great bagels, breads, pastries, soups, salads and sandwiches! I always order the "Pick 2" Combo. My favorites soups are their Broccoli Cheddar, Creamy Tomato, and when in season, Wild Chicken & Rice and Turkey Chili. Salads are excellent depending your craving, and plenty of sandwiches to choose. Average meal ~$5-10pp I haven't tried their newest Flatbread Pizza items yet, but will on my next visit. THANKS Panera for making my day! Enjoy!

Dirty silverware, as it was served to us.

I never complain... however: This is an unaltered photo of the silverware that was just given to me with my soup and salad. We also had to find the cleanest dirty table to sit at. (I had to take paper towels from the bathroom, soak them with hand sanitizer and clean my own table.) All the garbage cans are overflowing, with piles of dirty dishes stacked on top. Yes, In the middle of a national pandemic, I have never seen a such disregard for public health. Seriously, Imagine being served these dirty utensils in a COVID 19 world!!! Experience at the Bread Company in Chesterfield Valley. I will not be back. I strongly recommend avoid it.

Hair I pulled out of my salad

Should have checked the reviews before ordering! Placed an order online for rapid pick up and here's what happened next 1. Arrived on time and clicked the "I'm here" button on my confirmation email. No one shows up for 10 min. By this time I could have gone through the drive through and gotten my order. 2. Called and no answer after multiple rings (there were at least 3 people working inside) 3. Decided to go through the drive thru and pick up my order that way 4. The salad I had customized wasn't customized at all. Tortilla strips were added when I had said to take them off (trying to be low carb). Cherry tomatoes I wanted were MIA. I had asked for extra dressing and the little cups were less than halfway full. Very deceptive. 5. Proceeded to eat because I'm hungry, only to find hair in my salad (see pic) You would think in this economy that everyone would be doing what they could to keep their jobs but these people just dgaf. Turned my off from visiting a Panera/bread co for a long time.

St. Louis Bread always a favorite.

Ever since St Louis Bread started a few decades ago, I have been a huge fan of their fresh baked breads , sandwiches and soups. Whole the coffee may not be the same as a specialty coffee shops, ots better than most chains. My favorite order here changes over time, but right now the Cuban sandwich, Green Goddess salad are my go to items. My long term favorite soup is the cream of chicken and wild rice. Yum!

Open your dining room like all the other restaurants in the valley and perhaps the reviews will improve some.

Stevie was my server that night and she provided friendly top notch service. I ordered a spicy margarita for my cocktail. I was a little disappointed with the drink. It was very cucumber forward, had a nice heat, but lacked that signature lime flavor and tartness required of a good margarita. The brussel sprouts and cheese grits were a must try for me. The pork chop was the perfect entree to accompany these sides. The brussel sprouts were charred and crispy. The balsamic glaze paired nicely with the charred flavor. The pork chop is served in a very generous portion juicy and tender. The citrus sauce paired nicely with the pork. The cheese grits were creamy and delicious. All in all a delightful meal. The portions were generous enough for me to have hearty meal of leftovers the next day. The menu is fairly concise with burgers, pizza, pasta, sandwiches, beer/pork/chicken entrees, and salads. They have something for just about everyone. The appetizer menu offers loaded brussel sprouts with bacon balsamic and feta. This would have been too much to tackle by myself. I plan on bringing my friends next time to share this dish.

The ambiance is an elevated casual and you can choose to sit in the darkened bar area or the lighter, brighter glassed off area. They also offer private booths, which are quite cool. Today I was meeting up with a former work colleague and friend from Australia. It just so happened that we were in town at the same time. She was having a business lunch meeting at Annie Gunn's, so we decided to meet there after the meeting. I didn't eat, but they did during their meeting and quite enjoyed the food. The three of us (my former colleague and a current colleague of hers) all enjoyed a tea while we caught up. It absolutely tasted fresh brewed. Their first waiter left without clearing the table, so when the new server cleared it up and was so kind, she was rewarded with a nice tip and some Lindt pistachio truffles, which I brought for my friends. 98% of my reviews include photos, but because we were all caught up in conversation, I didn't take any this time. I guarantee you will love the ambiance, service and food.

We've been here several times for their wine pairing dinners, and I am always completely blown away; and that's putting it mildly. The space is just gorgeous. There's this moment when you're driving up in the dark, and suddenly you see this illuminated farmhouse in all of its glory, and you just know it's going to be a special evening. Their wine pairing dinners sell out quickly, so keep your eyes on their website and social media. I'd also recommend waiting for a dinner when you know you're going to love every single course, only because the dinners are quite expensive. We recently went to their white truffle dinner and had, hands down, the best dining experience of our lives. Show up early--I believe you can get to your table an hour before the dinner begins--and let their talented team craft you a cocktail. From there, you can definitely expect top-tier plates and expertly-paired wines. Truly, it's just a delightful experience from beginning to end. It's in a weirdly large building that looks like a place where you'd go to get lasik surgery. I visited after a run on a day where the heat index was like 109, so I didn't spend that much time inside, just enough to drip sweat all over the front counter and the floor in the vestibule. We sat outside in an area that seems like the place where you'd pull up and unload your luggage at a hotel. A member of our group says she once attended some sort of Xmas pop-up in the basement here where you were charged a cover and then expected to pay for drinks and pizza, so... uh, caveat emptor. We ordered at the little bar up front, but I'm not sure if that's also the case if you dine inside. These places always flip out when there's umpteen different people ordering separately, because they only have but so many of those numbers you set on the table so they know where to bring your food. It ended up not being an issue with us, because who else was going to engage in al fresco dining during a heat advisory? This place serves pizza, but it didn't look that good in the few photos I saw. Granted, food often looks like crap in Yelp photos. Also, there's an emphasis on '90s-style health food, organic ingredients and what have you. There's a Salmon BLT that's featured prominently that seemed like it might be the thing to get, but I didn't know enough about this place to be ordering fish, and I'd already been meaning to eat a bacon cheeseburger for the past several days. Maybe next time. There is no bacon cheeseburger as a separate menu item unto itself. I figured I might just order a cheeseburger and add bacon, but I'm not sure if that's an option, and this wasn't a regular cheeseburger. It had a few different weird cheeses on it, spinach and maybe some other things. Then I saw the Dill-bert, which seemed like it might be really good. It has, among other things, dill Havarti cheese (whatever that is), avocado, and of course, bacon. It's served on a wheat bun, which, whatever. Its name is not a tribute to Scott Adams, as far as I know, but this is Ballwin. The Dill-bert did not disappoint. No Diddy. The beef comes from one of those special farms where the cows are all given names as if they were human beings, groomed on a daily basis by trafficking victims and read bedtime stories, and you really can taste the difference. It's a better quality meat. It's also expertly prepared. It's well-seasoned and cooked until it develops a nice char on the exterior. It was a bit more done on the inside than I require, but that may have been unavoidable. For a side, there was an option of tater tots cooked in an air fryer, like if your mom was feeling lazy. I didn't see any french fries, but maybe I'm going blind. I ordered a side salad, which is my thing these days. Sometimes they're surprisingly good, and a french fry is a french fry, unless you're at McDonald's. This one was pretty good, but it was definitely on the health-food side of things--very fresh and lightly but sufficiently dressed with something citrus-y and not too oily. Oh, and I was duped into purchasing a whiskey sour slushie. It just seemed like it would be so refreshing. It must have cost nearly as much as my meal, given what my bill came out to. They must think I'm a sucker. Did they receive advance notice of my visit? It did kinda hit the spot, and I probably got drunker than I would have otherwise, because I was suffering from a minor heatstroke, so there was that.
