It was already annoying that the owner plays Fox News on the tv in the waiting area. Now, they began illegally charging a fee for debit card transactions (violates IL and Federal laws). The food quality has declined. Last weekend, my husband became ill and vomited within 25 minutes of eating eggs benedict (only he ate that, everyone else was fine). Had a complaint about our food this afternoon and the owner had a horrible attitude. We were not requesting a discount nor a refund just a new half of the sandwich, since there was a funky ass, smell and taste coming from it. She said there was nothing she could do except give me an egg and toast which is not what we ordered and if we didn't like that, we can go to the health department and make a complaint. I'm not sure if she knows but customers is what make that place thrive customer service would make customers come back. This is the last time we will be stepping foot in the place. One of my favorite breakfast places and I have been here several times. Seriously, this is worth going to the burbs for. I didn't believe the hype until I actually was there. Their food is delicious and given in generous portions. Be prepared to wait, but that's kind of expected since it is so good and popular. My favorites are: Stuffed French toast- a plethora of fruit! Seriously, it's loaded with fresh fruit. Also, it doesn't get too soggy from the stuffed portion due to how they later it. Multigrain pancakes- my mom ordered them and I thought they would be kind of boring but they were fantastic! Down Home Skillet- the sausage has enough flavor/spice but isn't overpowering. (I don't do too spicy). The sausage gravy is perfect and didn't need any extra pepper. It also came on shredded potatoes which was a nice surprise. They do need some better coffee though. It's fine, but they could do better. Intelligentsia, Stumptown, Bowtruss, or Metropolis would be great. read more

This place is busy and seems to always be packed. I came in on a Saturday morning and there was an hour and 15 minute wait around 11 am. It's a small restaurant on the corner of the street with the parking lot in the back and there is some limited street parking available. Staff seem nice, but I'm not sure of their mechanism of ensuring that people are called in an orderly fashion on the waitlist. They say there is order, but I question it. I got the Ole skillet with chicken chorizo. It was a very filling and a tasty meal I got the pancakes on the side which were delicious. Then I have the cappuccino to complement my brunch. I recommend this meal. The server was nice and attentive. Despite the massive crowd that hovers as people eat it's pretty clean. If you claustrophobic avoid this place and order to go. It was worth the wait, but I feel they could make more money and have more customers if they have better organization with the Check in or even update the system to get a text update when you are ready to seat me. read more

Randomly came across this when I was driving down 95th. It was packed, so I figured it must be good. As the name entails, their main thing is pancakes. My sister got the strawberry pancakes And the smell of them was just amazing. Following the primal diet, I'm not supposed to eat pancakes but I had to try it since that's their main attraction. My boyfriend, his brother and I went here around noon. There was a long line because this place is really popular. We got lucky and some parties left due to the long wait. We were seated in the middle of the breakfast restaurant. The place had a homey feel, where I felt very comfortable. The waitress happily greeted us, which I appreciated because their attitude can really make your experience better. The other thing I noticed is the staff worked as a team, even the manager. He participated in seating and cleaning. He wasn't one of those annoying managers dictating from afar. I ordered a Lemon Greek soup, an Irish skillet and toast. The soup was creamy and delicious. It warmed my stomach, and (at the time) my stomach was feeling ill. It made me feel a lot better. Then, I had room for the Irish skillet. I came here with a bunch of friends that I hadn't seen in a few years for a Sunday brunch. I found it on Yelp and it did not disappoint! We had a party of 6, 2 of us got there early to put our names in because the line gets long for Sunday brunch and they do not take reservations. They got a table ready for us and held it until our whole party was there so we got seated right away which was really nice! The service was great! The hostess was really nice our waitress was equally as great! Our food came out fast and it was EXCELLENT! If I could give this place 6 stars I would! All 6 of us really enjoyed our meal! They allowed us to split up our check which was also very nice. The food was fresh with great flavor, presentation was awesome but more importantly flavor was fantastic. Healthy is not the word I would use to describe the food here, but delicious is! I don't live in the Chicago area but when/if I'm ever back I would make it a point to come back here! The first time I ate at Stacked it was for an early breakfast meeting and the service and food were great. Today I went at lunch time and the place was busier. I was seated at the counter and the waitress served everyone around me and just ignored me. I went back to the Hostess and she told me to go back and they would send the waitress. I asked for a table and they still sent me back to no man's land. I am glad their breakfast is good but you can't eat there when they are busy. I was anticipating coming to Stacked based on the 4 star Yelp review average. Needless to say I am disappointed in my first experience at the restaurant today. The space is smaller than I realized. And for a Friday morning, the 30 minute wait was a bit much. They sat us in a tiny, little corner for our meal. The menu is decent however they do not serve grits. The food was just OK. I ordered the Olé Skillet with pancakes. Note: The skillet only comes with pico de gallo and there's no salsa in the restaurant which I feel like could have been beneficial to the skillet. However, I did like the fact that they had chicken chorizo that I was able to substitute instead of regular chorizo for no price differential. And the tortilla chips and hash browns were extremely delightful. Unfortunately, the pancakes were severely dry and adding syrup didn't help much. Overall, I'm not saying that I wouldn't go back. I usually order from Stacked once or twice a month. We've eaten in and carried out. For me personally, best breakfasts around. The food has always been fresh, and quite delectable. When we eat in, the waitresses have been good to us; when I do carryout, the food holds up pretty well on the drive home. Now dig this: I don't know if any of you are bacon aficionados like I am, but the bacon is nice, thick, and crispy. I mean they got that good smoky crunch action going!!! Eggs are always cooked perfectly (especially when you order over easy), and the pancakes are great. I've been through all the French toast dishes and the stuffed French toast with the banana cream cheese just makes you stop and appreciate each bite the more you eat it. It's that good. I haven't eaten lunch here yet, but I will eventually. But if you need a place to get that breakfast action going, go to Stacked. I ordered glazed strawberry crepes and glazed strawberry French toast for delivery. The glaze had a tin taste-and that was on both of the items. They went uneaten then into the garbage. So far, we have had the classic dish (eggs, bacon, toast, coffee), challah bread french toast with blueberry compote, crepes with nutella (no bananas), silver dollar pancakes (kids), corned beef hash, and I can't remember what else. Where to start, there is no parking, the waiting time is very long, the customer service is mediocre, and the food is average.

My experience was horrible today. The service was less than best, my water was never refilled. I watched my waitress be very responsive to all other tables except mine. Half of my meal initially came out, then finally the rest came out prior to my departure. The sausage tasted spoiled, I alerted the waitress and she stated that's not possible. After I went to pay the bill and alerted management all I was told is people need to be more patient we are short staffed. The service was horrible from management on down. Asked for steak well done normally that means all brown but this steak was black like it was burned on purpose. When I ask for another steak the server told me it was nothing she could do and they have a policy where they does not cover medium well or well done steaks. I then asked for the manager a white woman maybe in her 50's with flips in her hair told me there was nothing she could do and I had to pay wether I ate the steak or not. I then advised her that I would pay for the other food items just not the steak even though the pancakes were cold. She told me I had to pay for the steak. Of course I got upset and said "I bet I don't" and she looked me up and down and said "I don't bet with people that look like you" (a black woman). I politely walked out. I did not touch any of my food. The manager is racist and provided me with the WORST costumer service I've ever experienced in my life. Updated Review Note: This is a message to management. Please see my original review for detail about the food. The food is still exceptional but the business side of things can use some work. I've been dining here for at least 3 years, probably more. This year in particular, Stacked has gotten REALLY popular. The average wait time used to be around 20 minutes, now you're lucky if you can get by without a 30+ minutes wait. I, personally, expect a 45ish minute wait because I always come during peak hours on the weekend. That being said, management really needs to work on a more efficient waiting area. They need to line chairs against the windows by the bathroom and the glass door in the front. I've seen several senior citizens that wanted to sit down but there weren't any seats! They won't let you be seated until your entire party has arrived but they still hold the table. They may as well let the incomplete party sit. It's a party of 6 and a party of 3 in front of me, and both parties are missing 1 person. Instead of immediately sitting me and my family, we waited another 5 minutes for the last members of their party to arrive. In the winter, get a vestibule to stop some of the cold air from gusting in. I'm in the waiting area freezing as I write this review. Every time someone comes in, the temperature in the restaurant drops for a few minutes. Lastly, management needs to make sure the shovel when it snows!
