We have been to this place in past years, however it has really gone downhill. The food was not very good. The eggs and hash browns had way too much butter. The skillet was not mixed well. After having subpar food, there was a 3.99 service fee for the use of a credit card which is much higher than the fee charged to the merchant and not disclosed until at the register. This place is so cute! It's small and there is apparently always a wait time of about 30 minutes. However, the wait was totally worth it! I had the Greek soup (which was ok, would probably skip next time) and the chicken n waffles! I can't believe how delicious they were! Our waitress was super friendly and attentive to our needs. OakLawn Location: I am extremely disappointed with the quality of service this restaurant gave with special attention to the terrible attitude and service the owner Christina displayed. I asked for hard scrambled eggs and they brought me wet and runny. I asked for the eggs to be replaced with an omelette and instead they recooked my eggs until they were brown. The waitress told me they didn't want to waste food. The owner finally came out and told me that she solved my problem and we calmly explained that we asked for an omelet and not my eggs recooked. She became loud and started over talking my mother (black woman) and proceeded to tell her "you are being aggressive over a breakfast" when she in fact is the one causing the frustration. If you would have seen the eggs they brought out, you wouldn't even feed it to a dog. This whole situation caused me to lose my appetite and I did not eat the rest of any of my food. I definitely don't recommend eating here! If I can give negative stars I would. To make my disappointment very clear, I downloaded Yelp just to make this review. We were in town for a show and stopped into this tasty spot for some breakfast and signature pancakes. We got the chorizo omelette, strawberry and cream cheese pancakes, biscuits and gravy and the cinnamon roll pancakes. The omelette came with fresh pico de gallo and sour cream plus hash browns. So tasty and filling. Everyone enjoyed their food. My 8 year old enjoyed it all a little too much and eventually suffered the consequences of eating as much as a couple of linebackers. So... A few months back I was browsing through the Suburban Foodie's instagram page and saw her photos from Stacked of Oaklawn. I made my way over this afternoon. There was a nice little brunch crowd going on and waited about 35 minutes for a table for two (I brought my mama with me.) Our server Tritri was a doll, so friendly and pretty much sold me on the Parfait French Toast. I am not really a French Toast kind of guy but this order would change anyone's mind, I loved every bite. Just the right amount of crunchy granola, Greek yogurt and berries. Their jumbo sausage links were plump and juicy, rather a meal in itself. Stacked is open 7 days a week 6AM-3PM offering homemade soups daily. Their lunch menu has a great variety of paninis, burgers, chicken sandwiches, italian beef, monte cristos and more! THIS IS A SANITARY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE REVIEW!!! As I was sitting eating my food, a girl (I believe her name is Tiffany) comes to the back hall from what appears to be the kitchen area with a DOG (Pitbull that was 14 months old). Then, the dining staff (all except 1 because he said he didn't like dogs) came to see this dog. They are very excited, petting the dog, letting the dog lick on them, and having a good ol' time for 10 mins give or take. Then she left with the dog and went back to what appeared to be the Kitchen area. Only 2 of the dining staff washed their hands after handling this Dog and my waitress was one that didn't wash their hands. The 2 that did wash their hands literally just splashed water. Then, I saw my waitress touch the to-go boxes and give them to customers, the ketchup and different food items on shelves. So, when our waitress came to see if we needed anything, I voiced my concerns with her handling the dog and not washing her hands and the fact that a dog should not be in a food establishment. She suggested that I speak with a manager, which I agreed, because this situation was not ok. Here comes the manager in a very defensive body language leaning over me. I voice my concerns with allowing the dog in a food establishment and she defends it and sees nothing wrong with this situation. She says, we allow service animals in our restaurant, and I let her know that's fine. Then, she asked me if a Service Animal is cleaner than a regular Dog? I told her service animals are not in the kitchen or being petted by your dining staff. I have no concerns with service animals and you're missing the point. So, she is pretty much combative with every issue I'm voicing to her. She says, you already have your food so what does it matter? So, I asked, are you defending this incident? She says, well I'm not denying that it happened. I asked for her name, and she yells I'm the owner, I'm not giving you anything. She gets all hostile and tells me to get out, I'm not welcome, and don't come back. As I'm getting up out of my seat to leave, another "worker" pulls her back and she yanks away as if she was going to attack me or something. Then another guy says to my husband and I, we just wanted a free meal today. I never said I wasn't paying; I didn't want the food comp'd. I was simply letting her know her staff didn't wash their hands after handling a dog and a dog shouldn't be in a food establishment, especially in a kitchen area. She was so rude and condescending and thank God I remained calm and didn't match her energy. I will never dine here again. Well, I'm not welcomed anyway. My point was if they didn't feel the need to wash their hands after allowing a dog to lick all over them, in what other situations did they not wash their hands? Did the kitchen staff do the same thing with the dog as the dining staff? I literally told her perception is everything. Customers shouldn't see this, and she was very combative about that also. My man and I went here for his birthday breakfast (even though I was the one that really wanted to go here... such an amazing man I have!) We walked into Stacked somewhat early, and of course there was a wait -- not too bad though, just 20mins. Not quite sure how long we waited exactly, but we got to our table fairly quickly and our server came over immediately taking our drink order. We ordered fresh-squeezed orange juice, and tried to figure out what to eat. I opted for a simple meal: eggs, bacon, and I subbed the regular pancakes for red velvet pancakes (do it, it's oh so very worth it!!!), and my boyfriend actually got the Stacked Club sandwich (so I guess we had birthday brunch, since I got breakfast and he got lunch, lol). Needless to say, our meal was finger-licking good! And I couldn't wait to get to the red velvet pancakes... It's been so long since I've had such amazingly fluffy, warm and delicious pancakes with cream cheese frosting... Mmm. My mouth is watering just writing this review and reminiscing about the deliciousness of this meal. I went there on a Saturday morning and they were PACKED! It's not a very large place but I had my fingers crossed that since it was packed it was a good sign. We were not able to end up sitting at a table but sat at a bar by the window. So it's a five seater, there was a couple on the other side of us and later a single person came and sat in between. So 2 couples separated by a stranger, no big deal because I'm Midwest friendly, and the lady was alone and she started chatting it up with us so we all kind of joined in conversation, it was nice. The place was clean and service was fast. The stranger next to me ended up ordering this huge waffle that looked amazing! I feel bad because she got so engrossed in conversation that it got cold. I had typical breakfast food, scrambled eggs with ham and cheese, hashbrowns, and pancakes on the side. The pancakes were really delicious. Sadly I am writing this review about four months too late, I do not remember what my husband ate but he said it was delicious as well. We would go back for sure.
