My husband and I are from Chicago and have tried so many delicious restaurants in the city. By far this was the most incredible breakfast experience we have had in years! The wait was brief (at noon on a busy Monday!). The service was friendly and professional. No request was overlooked. The facility was pristine. Finally the food was perfection!! We had the crepes florentine. Delicate, with a hint of sweetness and a rich cream cheese and spinache filling that was spiritual awakening with each bite. The lavazza coffe reminded me of brunch in the south of France. We will make Stacked our regular stop when in town. read more

Very cute place, small and cozy. The portions are gigantic and our server was awesome! She had no problem keeping up with all her tables and it seemed like she had the entire restaurant! Only reason I took a star away was because I ate the regular eggs Benedict and it was way too salty! I'm excited to go back and try something else on the menu! read more

So disappointed. Wait was long, food was bland, and pancakes looked fluffy but were cold and gummy. Portion sizes are good (even though my food wasn't), shared a steak skillet with my dad for a Thursday brunch. The skirt steak comes already cut up (probably why it was dry), the hash brown potatoes were greasy and heavy, veggies way overdone. The whole thing was a bland, greasy mess. My visit to Stacked occurred when my wife and I took our daughter out for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. There was approximately a 15 minute wait for a table (not a problem) and the waitress was attentive and personable. The problem came when the food arrived. My wife's meal had to be returned to the kitchen to be fixed which took only a moment. I got the bacon I ordered, but my crepes did not appear. The waitress apologized, saying that the kitchen had to make them again because of a problem. I was left to eat my bacon while my daughter and wife began their meal; the waitress assured me that mine would be out in just a few minutes. Approximately 15 minutes later my order arrived. Upset because the others had finished their meal already, I asked that the crepes be boxed so I could take them with me. I think I hurt the waitress's feelings when I did not eat the food, but I don't like eating when someone at the table is still waiting for their meal, nor do I like to eat with people who have already finished. A meal is to be shared and a table of three should all get their food at the same time. The food was no better or worse than the food is at 6 or 7 other places within a mile of Stacked. We paid the bill, tipped the waitress (It wasn't her fault), and asked for no adjustment to the bill. No one should have had to ask the manager to remove the charge for my crepes from our bill, a good manager should have known to do that on his/her own. All in all a disappointing experience. Trendy isn't everything. read more

The name for this place holds true, at least in terms of the amount of people who go here cause it was stacked with people on a Sunday morning. Plan on waiting a while for a table if you go on the weekends. I'm a big fan of my breakfasts and I was happy with Stacked, though I wouldn't quite say it was the best I've ever had. Prices are decent, and the food is quality. It's one of those cases where you hear such rave reviews on a place, and see all the great ratings and it sets your bar so high, its hard to live up to. If I had just walked into Stacked not knowing a thing about it, I prob would be giving it a better review right now. Give it a try, temper your expectations, and you'll probably be blown away by it. read more

The only down side is that the restaurant is tiny. . The wait times are usually very long and I would never even think about going there on a Saturday or Sunday because it's so packed. read more

I had a really bad experience at Stacked this past Friday. I was given a pager as many restaurants do ; we left and walked outside to wait along with 9 others waiting outside; we decided to sit in the car and walked to the parking lot. 20 minutes later as predicted by the cashier , the pager went off; we immediately, and swiftly walked about 15 steps to the restaurant , as I handed over the pager I was told by the cashier "oh we gave your seating away , you didn't answer" as she handed it back to me ; I replied " the pager just went off " she replied "No , we paged you twice almost 20 minutes ago , I replied , no "the pager just went off " , another woman walked over and chimed in with the cashier more or less verbally blowing me off ; she was very rude and disrespectful especially when I stated that perhaps your pager is out of order and she replied very nasty that " there is nothing wrong with the pager , she continued to display very poor customer service .. There was no apology for the discrepancy ; or how she could further help me ; it was you are either going to wait behind three parties which allegedly where now in front of me and if not this conversation was done ; and she flicked her hand at me and walked away with menus in tow . I had no idea that this was the manager / owner , which I later was told . It seems after searching reviews about this business, it appears that this owner has a history of not valuing her customers ; as a matter of fact along with some of the wait staff . Seemingly, If you disagree with them or have a complaint of any sort you're not welcomed . And perhaps it could be racially motivated ..and of course no one wants to play the race card ; but quite often if it walks like a duck and quacks .. It's a duck .. So I will no longer spend my money at STACKED.. I'll put them out of their misery .. read more

What a great breakfast! Our table ordered the steak and eggs and an order of French toast with cinnamon apples. The steak was enormous! It was tender and surprisingly tender for a diner. The French toast on it's own was a little too eggy for my taste, but when eaten with the apples was just amazing. The coffee was strong, which I appreciate. The restaurant was very crowded for a Thursday, so I'm pretty sure the wait on a weekend is insane but we'll worth it. read more

Went with my family here with my family this summer after receiving rave reviews from our cousin. Waited 30 minutes...and...disappointment. There was nothing stellar about the meal and the pancakes, which they are named for where dry with a burnt taste? As in some of my other post I am always hopeful and rooting for the restaurants in and near my neighborhood but I could only describe my meal as a waste of my daily calories. Loved it. Had a daddy/daughter date with my girls. Our server was Ann or Anna? (I couldn't really hear her when she said her name) but she was very sweet. It was crowded so we chose our breakfast in the car while waiting. She offered a better choice for me and the kids. Used to love this place but my last visit was quite unforgettable in a bad way. The food was good, my only complaint is that I got the pecan bun french toast, and it came with no pecans. They used walnuts instead. I like walnuts, but I was just very confused. Then after we ordered and literally sipping on our soup, the waitress tells us the system is down, the atm in the restaurant is broken, and they only accept cash. And we were told we can go to a nearby atm to get cash. Cool, no problem until we realized all the waitresses around us were telling everyone it was cash only AFTER orders were placed and food was already being prepped. It was weird, but we said, at least we can go to the atm. And so we went to the front to let them know, and the hostess asked for a license. Fine, makes sense, but without apologizing for the inconvenience and making me feel like I was going to steal the food and not come back to pay was a bit insensitive. "I'm going to need your id." Literally, and then we left to grab cash and come back to pay. It was an interesting visit nonetheless. read more

Was in the area for business and decided to give them a try.Walking in I was impressed with Decor and natural light from all the windows.The place was full but also small for a breakfast joint. Overall pleasant ambience other than cold breeze that would hit us every time door opened. Now to the food, nice selection but nothing different from your average breakfast place. I usually like to order exotic omelets with chicken,jalapeños, or avocado and I didn't see that here. I played it safe and ordered a veggie omelet with red potatoes and coffee. Timing was good and food came out in 15 minutes. Omelet was perfect size and tasted good, the red potatoes needed some seasoning, and coffee was coffee. Our server was nice and attentive which bumped my rating to 4 stars. If you are a breakfast person it's worth a try. read more
