Sometimes we put on our sad faces if we show up after 6... why doesn't that work? Do NOT leave without ordering the bread. Period. Prawns are prepared 3 different ways. Your choice. Tempura. Beer battered. Coconut. My fav is the tempura. Oysters- yum! Steak- yum! Halibut- yum! Cod-yum! Prime rib- yum! They rotate out their mashed tater recipes, so it's always a surprise. The French fries are $&@#%€£!!! off the HOOK. Hand cut. Ask for them slightly extra crisp. Good Lord! Homemade dressings. Great dinner salad w craisins, croutons and sunflowers seeds. Thank you! Service is always very good. But the decor is TIRED and shabby from the wobbly, stained chair cushions to the tattered and worn out carpet. We normally eat here for the nightly specials or the early bird fare but last night there were only 3 other customers at 6pm. With the place being almost empty, we noticed the strong smell of mildew. I asked for a pink burger and it was so hard and over cooked, so I ate my fries which were very good hand cut and crispy , then took the rest home for the dog as it was not edible. read more

WHAT HAPPEN TO THIS PLACE?! Yikes! I understand that it must be incredibly difficult for you with your street torn up. That has to be no fun to deal with for do long. But, between the swarm of fruit flies, long wait time for poorly prepared food and shrimp that I wish I didn't eat i was embarrassed I brought guests there. The floors were so sticky you could hear yourself walk. One of my guests was in a wheelchair and it wasn't possible for him to get into the dining area without using stairs. It was a little difficult and embarrassing for them. I've dined here several times before and enjoyed it but it literally seemed to be in complete shambles as you walk through. Very dirty and sticky and clutter and odd items everywhere. I gave 1 extra star because the staff was pleasant. I don't like giving a poor review about local businesses but this was not a good experience. read more

Ambiance is awful. Lighting is too bright and the place reeked of mildew. The food may be great. We'll never know. Ordered a glass and wine. Never ordered dinner because of the ambiance and smell. One time we went here and sat at the bar. Bartender was obviously overworked. He was distant and kind of snobby. read more

They put together a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner that allows people to enjoy all of their favorite dishes. It was our second year In a row to attend and it was great. I would visit again to see their regular menu. read more

This is a long over due review. A long while ago I had wanted to try this place, and never got around to it until earlier in 2021 I had a friend who had passed away. His family had his celebration here, and the food was catered. I was so impressed with the food, and the space, and everything about this place. I honestly don't remember all of the food that they had, but what I do remember if it all it was so delicious. The one that stood out was the coconut breaded chicken strips, and shrimp. I'm pretty sure they also had a hot spinach type dip as well. Fast forward to later in the year to October. My Son, and his GF are having a baby, and we needed a spot for a baby shower. Her Mom called, and made arrangements for our shower to be here. I have to say, I am so impressed. When we got here they had the back party room reserved for us with tables set up. Menu's for everyone to order food. Part of the agreement making the guests order food/ drinks. Which I thought was a great idea. Their food was really good, I ended up getting the coconut chicken strips again. I know everyone else ordered food, and really liked what they had. The burgers looked really good as well. There are items from their dinner menu I would like to go back for another time. The quality of the food is great. I also really liked their sweet potato fries. I know the kids really enjoyed their baby shower, and I am glad we were able to have it here over any where else. I was pretty impressed. The restaurant is lovely. The service is friendly. The food tastes very good. But... I ate there on 3 occasions over a 4 year period, and each time I ordered a steak, they got my order mixed up with my wife's order, so I had to eat something I did not order or did not want. (well done when rare was specifically requested, wrong side dishes). The food quality is great, but you roll the dice on getting what you asked for if you're eating with somebody else. I liked the food, but I won't go back there anymore because I no longer expect to be served what I requested. It took me several years to form this opinion. I've lived in Cottage Grove for almost 15 years, so this is not a new opinion. I wish the restaurant well, and I hope that their customer base receives what they pay for in the future. read more

Had the chicken artichoke fettucine alfredo, which was excellent. Delicious, creamy sauce with just the right touch of garlic. Very generous portion of al dente pasta with an equally generous portion of freshly grilled, moist chicken. House salad with homemade raspberry vinaigrette....very large and yummy, also. My partner had steak, baked potato and was quite happy, too. Very reasonable prices,, very good service and quite a nice atmosphere. Perhaps arrive a little before you're hungry as the good food takes time. read more

Stacy's passes muster. Saw some mixed reviews, so was a bit apprehensive, especially since there was no online menu I could find, but figured what the heck. Glad I tied them out. Only had the salmon and strawberry salad, despite everyone else around me taking advantage of it being "burger night" which looked and smelled divine (I resisted... trying to be a more conscientious eater). Despite it being a fairly plain interior, everything seemed clean and the staff was attentive and polite. Food was tasty, so in my book, mission accomplished! The hostess was not friendly and not accommodating when we asked the sticky dirty table to be wiped down. She was almost hostile.The waitress was friendly and wonderful. The bartender was phenomenal. We (3 of us) ordered streak, shrimp and chicken fettuccine alfredo. The shrimp and steak were fabulous. The veggies (zucchini) was way over cooked. The alfredo noodles were just at the point of over cooked and they covered it in green onions that had a sandy grit to them and the chicken was dry and flavorless. The atmosphere felt a little run down, we were seated next to a wall that needed some new paint. The chairs were wood and uncomfortable and felt very droopy. I would of rather just sat on a metal chair than some old antique from a thrift store. However' the filet mignon was cooked perfectly, and the ceasar salad was awesome. And the bread was kick ass even though they don't make it themselves. Our waitress Tracy was really nice and professional and checked on us enough. The side of rice I got tasted old and had a fishy smell to it. I took one bite and that was enough. The side of squash was over cooked and slimmy and lacked spices and flavor. I'd go back but would ask to be seated else where away from the dreary dark wall and away from the restrooms. And I would not get side of rice or squash. Maybe fries. Go into your first visit with the mindset you are looking for well made food and amazing staff and you'll love this place. Make sure you try the warm spinach salad with candied almonds and bacon. First and last time in. I will say this, our waitress was extremely nice, very friendly and down to earth. The food on the other hand wasn't very nice. My shrimp were cold, it took an hour to get our food out to us. There were only 3 other tables of 2 people each so I'm not sure what the hold up was. Our drinks were kept filled and the salad was okay. Spring mix was wilted a bit and our bread I thought was meant for croutons it was so hard and dry. No joke, the crust hurt my mouth to chew! I'm writing this review from the ER at Cottage Grove Hospital and Clinics. Not a good place to start. Half way through our German Chocolate cake we noticed the nuts in it tasted like walnuts instead of pecans. We asked the waitress. She said they were pecans. In this case the customer was right; they were walnuts and apparently my allergy to walnuts is worst than I thought. The cake was good; it just wasn't an authentic German chocolate cake. The meal was pretty much the same, good but just a tinge bit off. The service, on the other hand, fell on the other side of the table. Remember this is a small town restaurant. They allow pettiness get in the way of professionalism. It's sad because Stacy's used to be my father's favorite place to eat because they treated everyone the same in a professional manner and didn't let personal prejudices get in the way of good service. read more

I love coming here on Thursday nights. The long islands are half off. They are super delicious. They also have some great deals on apps and other menu items. Can't even put a star on this place but I had to in order to post the review. First time in Cottage Grove and we wanted to try something other than fast food. Stacy's looked good from the ratings so we went. Upon arrival, we noticed people waiting to be seated, which was no problem. A worker came and told us it would be 15 min wait. Perfect no problem...yet. Everyone but us were seated. We had 4 in our party and we sat and waited at least a half hour, while staring at an empty and ready table for 4. The worker that told us 15 min kept walking past us, giving water to other customers and helping other workers, without approaching us and seating us at the table. This place was recommended for great food. I anticipated an experience. I received a medium range experience. The location is on a quaint Main Street with easy parking. There was seating out front if you wanted. Next door, a radio station was playing old time country, which was great. We sat inside. Interior decor was a bit rustic, but not rustic chic. We were seated immediately (it was early-5:30). The menu had several items of interest. There is an Early Bird menu that was good for the budget. The drinks were good. The pour of my wine was generous. When the food came - it was not as flavorful as I anticipated. I added salt to no avail. My chicken was room temp. I moved it aside and went for desert. That too felt a little on the less than flavorful side. My husband said the same thing so maybe we just were having a bad tastebud weekend? I think this is a quaint location but I wouldnt take friends for an experience, unfortunately. Not sure I would return. Server was good and people were friendly, so added a star. read more

Just a quick review, as others have accurately covered things. 1) Staff was friendly. 2) Decor is dated and needs a thorough cleaning/painting, as the entire place has a particular odor, one I personally have a negative bias against (combo of constantly cooking beef and a mildewing sponge). 3). Mixed bag. Like another reviewer, I also noticed a smell upon entering...mop water? Plumbing? I don't know, but not appetizing. There were no staff present for at least five minutes in the restaurant, so my wife and I seated ourselves. After bringing water, the server said she'd bring menus when they were available...meaning they were short on menus. How does this happen, let alone on a Wednesday afternoon? After browsing a menu I looked up online (which had since become outdated), we ordered the Covered Bridge Burger with Sweet Potato Fries and Coconut Almond Chicken with Shoe String Fries. The burger was average, sweet potato fries a little overdone (no fry sauce either), and the chicken and fries were just okay. The service, once the servers appeared, and one menu became available, was good. Both servers were polite and fairly quick. And they were clearly understaffed. But the atmosphere, combined with the smell, and an old woman who was incidentally choking, was not inviting. Hard pressed on this one. Think of restaurant rescue. Cute town, but outdated restaurant with off putting smell (carpet looked ancient, so I do think mold). The day we went for lunch they made us enter through the bar. Maybe it's a small town trick locals know about, but we thought they were closed at first (3 doors to choose from and 2 were locked). Food: companion loved the pastrami (came with small order of fries). I thought the seafood bisque was OK. I got a turkey sandwich with cranberry goat cheese . .. a disappointment. Not a good distribution of cheese/ cranberry and the bites were hit or miss for the flavor profile that sold me on the sandwich. If they paid attention to the details and toasted this one it could be great. Owner: If the goat cheese with cranberries are too expensive you should charge more and make sure that item is fully present (vs one little swipe on the bread). Unfortunately the skirt steak the locals told us to order was only on dinner menu... Must admit I was so put off by smell, I wanted to just check yelp for another spot, but companion wanted to stick it out as 2 locals recommended it. Decor: old (historical? ) building near covered bridge. Floors uneven and cute little alcoves in dining area. Needs major reno though. Some TLC and a good Cleaning might help, getting rid of carpet and painting the walls would do wonders. read more
