Visited on a Saturday with 2 ppl. Wasn't impressed and not worth the wait. I was able to reserve a table on table and that saved us 20 minutes. Through Yelp we waited 10 minutes instead of the 30 minute walk up. You receive your table through the hostess to give to the cashier once your order is placed. I order the shrimp omelette with a pancake and my husband ordered the breakfast sandwich. For this to be a pancake place I never in my life received such flat pancakes in my life. The omelette was missing favor however the shrimp was huge. My husband enjoyed his sandwich but has had better. There is no waiters so its hard to get refills or extra napkins. Took my best friend who was in town for a visit and my toddler to have breakfast this morning. We had never been but had heard through word of mouth it was very good. We ordered together so we could share. The cinnamon roll pancakes, the French toast, side of scrambled eggs and a side of hash browns. The cinnamon roll pancakes were big and sweet. They honestly tasted like a fantastic cinnamon roll. No need to add syrup as they were sweet. The French toast was great too. It had a great custard taste and a hint of nutmeg. So good with the warm butter and syrup that comes with it. Hash browns were good and eggs were a perfect soft scramble. You order then sit and they bring your food. We did not get much service. But were able to get the couple of things we asked for by flagging someone down. The floor was slick and I'm not sure why. My guess is something they used to clean it but both my BFF and I were in sneakers and slipped a little. They also charged us for the side of eggs even though the French toast comes with a side and we chose eggs. Maybe that was my fault in ordering, not sure. Total waste of time. The online waitlist is a joke and does nothing. Don't waste your time. Online said it would be 35-55 minute wait and to put your name on the waitlist then let the hostess know once you're there.....ok cool, added our name online, waited and got there at the 40 minute mark, let the hostess know we're there, she clicked our name- said ok it will be a 45 minute wait. Uhhh what? What's the point of having the online wait list if it literally does nothing. So we waited 40 minutes to then just be put at the bottom on the list? Waited about an hour and a half this morning (despite being on the wait list) for our table and for for food to arrive. 2 out of the 4 members of our group received incorrect orders, cold fries that had to be sent back, and a very brown avocado on the only salad that came out right. Though the staff was courteous, they were clearly overwhelmed and understaffed. Update: Things that were good: the pancakes were loved by all and my fiancé really enjoyed his omelette. Staks Pancake Kitchen Germantown location. It's in the Germantown Village Square shopping area. Tucked right in the corner groove with patio seating right out front. They are a pay b4 you sit kind of restaurant. No fast food here. You step inside to beautiful colored turquoise walls accented with white. Clean and fresh ceiling to floor. You order at the front counter and pick a booth number then sit with a beverage (coffee, tea, juice) and soon those hot, fresh made-to-order stacks arrive. Wow. Delighted!. Soft steamy and filled with cream cheese, or banana or what ever you ordered from the specialty list. They have egg items like omelets- rancheros. My grandmother and I came here for a brunch and we enjoyed it. The place is super cute with a nice theme throughout, with outdoor seating and curbside pickup. They also have a nice variety of different items on the menu which is nice. She ordered the breakfast burger with sweet potato fries and I got the French toast with a delicious, fresh fruit bowl. The French toast was a little bit sweeter than I'd normally like and had a lot of butter but was still good. The breakfast burger on the other hand, was very tasty and could easily be split between two people. The water however, was terrible and had a musty taste to it. We have been here - Germantown location a few times with friends and there is always waiting whether you get on their waitlist or not. We always go in a group and are never allotted booth tables we are told we will be getting while we wait outside the restaurant. I completely understand that weekends are busy but it should be too much to expect a clean table without food leftover from the previous customer and the high chairs to be clean without food spatter. We ordered 4-5 entrees but the Hueveros Rancheros was the worst, it had burnt tacos and was a totally disheveled dish that we had to return because it did not look appetising at all. We showed up before 11AM on a Sunday. There was no clear direction as to how to sign up for a table so I went inside. I was told by someone with an iPad that I needed to make a reservation...okay, no problem. The quoted wait time was 25-30 Minutes....meh, okay, not great, but still a bit excessive for the pre-church crowd. I did request patio seating (or indoors) whichever was available first, but after 25 minutes, we still had not moved up. We needed up abandoning our reservation, and when we were texted our table was ready, wrote back "Skip" so we would be removed. It was 45 minutes since we made the initial contact. We've eaten at Stacks before, and while it is decent food, albeit more expansive than other brunch places, their organization and reservation process even in this post Covid-19 environment needs a lot of work. I have two kids under 5, it would be nice to either do call ahead or make a reservation online. 3 stars for the lack of communication, organization, and while they had social distancing stickers on the floor, there was zero compliance. read more

We got the shrimp and grits, which had a lovely crunch to the spinach and Gouda grits cooked to perfection. Biscuits and gravy, which were clearly homemade and the gravy was amazingly flavorful. The Elvis pancakes would bring a Tear to the Kings eye with the amazing peanut butter sauce and fresh bananas. I waited an extra ten minutes before leaving the house because I know it's Saturday so it's busier. I clicked the "I'm here" button in the email and waited. I finally called at 1:10pm to see how much longer it would be. I was told my order was complete and they're just waiting on the coffee. I knew then it wasn't going to be right. Very organized. I wasn't expecting the specific system this Staks had but it was great. Joining the Yelp waitlist seemed to be a great help and we walked it and had a table number immediately. The guy that took our order was very nice and patient with my struggling grandparents. Wish I got his name to shout him out, but very nice and helped a lot of customers and very on top of it. I got the cinnamon roll Staks and holy heaven on earth. Very sweet wish I got a side of bacon or eggs because so yummy but very sweet and needed flavor variation. I like that you can take the drinks to go and watching the server cleaning the tables around us comforted me on overall hygiene of restaurant.
