Love Happy Hour here! Stanford's bar menu has a good variety of drink and food specials. Happy Hour is available 3-6pm and 9pm- close, Monday through Saturday and all day Sunday. We stopped by for a drink and split an order of Beer Battered True Cod tacos. The fish was fried- golden brown and delicious. The tortilla was packed with avocado salsa, tomato salsa, and cilantro. Yum!! The fish tacos are my favorite item on the Happy Hour menu. There's lots of seating in the bar. We've been there at all times of happy hour- it gets crowded, however, we've always been able to get a table. We've been happy with the service and the food. Haven't ordered off the regular restaurant menu since Happy Hour offers good value and good portion size. read more

Lunchtime tomatoe basil soup with 1/2chicken club sandwich was excellent. Service was equally good, I was meeting a friend for a reunion after 5 years & knew we'd be chatting more than eating and didn't want to be rushed. Our waitress was very patient, friendly, and welcoming without rushing us at all. Ambiance was pleasant. Clean, not noisy, everyone was respectful and restrooms were clean. Horrible food! I serious believe that McDonald's or Wendy's could've done a better job. It was soggy disgusting and undercooked absolutely last time I would ever go there who takes a club sandwich and wraps it in garlic bread. It looked like the shit that you buy out of the frozen place at Fred Meyer's It was simply disgusting!!!!' and get this. The manager approves it because she also is very disturbing. I will follow through with the Oregon health department for undercooked food so you better clean that place up. raw bacon pretty disgusting. I didn't go there to order food and get worms. also, another thing I reviewed is that corporate and owners can delete negative post so that they can have better reviews and get a five stars. because all the posts that I read last time after I ate, there were removed, but they kept the five star and four stars. Our server was fantastic! Our steaks were delicious. We also tried the smoked steelhead chowder for the first time, it tasted pretty good - I was expecting to find some smoked fish pieces somewhere in the cup but never did. The cheesecake was excellent! We will definitely be back again. read more

After sharing my ambivalence to my dining experience at Stanfords with a co worker I learned that this restaurant is one of the few left of a dying chain. Chains are hard to drive consistent success. Private owner/chef run restaurants theoretically have someone with passion towards what they are offering their customers. The staff here were friendly and doing their job. The manager made an obligatory stop and seemed like it's just a job. The food is pretty average. Just not gonna be a repeat for me. read more

We both decided your restaurant is our favorite!! We had the herb roasted chicken dinner, with crab cake's appetizer.......deliciously prepared!! Wow! I can't believe it's taken us so long to order from Stanford's! We've lived in Portland for 13 years and thank goodness my partner had the idea to order through Grubhub! It was amazing!!! I had the steelhead with incredible rice and asparagus. The fish was tender and flavorful. The rice was so delicious! Lemony and peppery and just amazing! The asparagus was al dente. One of my favorite parts of the meal was the appetizer of Brussels sprouts with a balsamic reduction (and 2 other dipping sauces). It was incredible! SO sweet, tangy, and full of flavor!!! My partner had the artichoke/sundried tomato chicken with yummy mashed potatoes, and asparagus. Everything was cooked to perfection. It was seriously some of the best food I've ever had! Food was amazing, I prefer to go during happy hour (because who doesn't like cheap drinks and bar food) BUT the servers and bartenders are very very hit or miss. Sometimes you will get a very accommodating, kind server/bartender but majority of the time you will get a server or bartender who acts like anything you order or questions you have is the biggest inconvenience they have ever encountered, all while rushing to get through serving you to get back to sitting at a table with the rest of the servers to gossip and chat. Sadly not now.... it's called social hour, from 2-4......,and as with all a places the menu is cut in half and prices doubled. Who the hell is eating at 2-4!!!! The customer service here was great. We got seated in time and were served with our dietary restrictions. My coworkers and I had enjoyed the place. Our waitress was Shayan and she ensured we got our food in time. I had ordered spaghetti, lentil soup, and baked Brie. The lentil soup was not spicy but it was good. The spaghetti I did not enjoy because it was kind of season-less. I am vegetarian so did not have chicken in my spaghetti. We all really liked the baked Brie and would come again for it. Stanfords at Clackamas is our "go to" place for special occasions. The food is great and the wait staff are pleasant and very helpful. They have always allowed food substitutions (e.g, baked potato instead of fries, broccoli instead of cold slaw, et al), and the cocktails are good ( full to the rim and no scrimping on the booze). The ambiance is a big draw for me. Lots of semi private booths, pleasant decor--and quiet! I'm hard of hearing and Stanford's is the perfect place for me to go to where it's quiet enough for me to talk and actually hear and understand conversations. Wow! Most restaurants are noisy enough that I have a difficult time keeping up with conversations with my guests. And desserts-- very good also. Got to have 'em! read more

I ate here once while dine-in was opened back up over the summer and they seemed so annoyed that we were there. They took away happy hour, raised the prices, and were out of stock with half of the things we ordered. I understand that they can't keep everything in stock with the pandemic but they should just limit the menu more so customers can have a clear idea of what options are available. We kept ordering different items just to get an eye roll as they tell us that they are out, like it's our fault. Employees were also talking bad about other customers in front of us. Bad dine-in experience aside, the food here is really good. Like good enough to have me come back. This time I did take-out. It was easy to order in advance online and with curbside pickup, I didn't have to leave my car to get the food. This was convenient and a much better experience. We have had some nice dinners at Stanford's but lastnight we attended a Wrestling Referee's banquet. The prime rib was tough and very fatty. My main complaint is that they would not serve us drinks at all after we got our food. Not one person attending the banquet was misbehaving or loud at all, we were not given any explanation, they would not even allow us to buy our own drinks at the bar. Why were we singled out? We were all legal adults! If we had been at a regular table, I'm sure we would have been treated like paying adults that we are. We will not go back to that restaurant and will tell all of our family and friends to never go there. I would not be surprised if they are on the next list I see for closed businesses. read more

I'm from out of town and wanted to celebrate a business opportunity with steak. It's tough due to current legislation making indoor dining impossible, so I won't say anything about the steak being a little less cooler ... Because that was my fault getting on the highway instead of the road to my hotel. Nevertheless, the steak was cooked just right at medium rare, along with green beans and mashed potatoes. I had ordered the ribeye because of course. I will say it was odd that I had to wait so long for the order to be ready - Grubhub told me to wait a while before picking it up. When I pulled up to the restaurant there were no other customers or activity for blocks. I also asked for utensils because I don't have a kitchen at the hotel, and the sadness of opening it to find none made my steak all the more colder. Still, it was tasty. That's a win. read more
