When I've steam-cleaned my carpets with a rented do-it-myself machine, they come out just as clean with MUCH less drying time. The carpets were alarmingly wet and truly took 24 hours to dry (as they said they would). They're not much cleaner than if I did it myself but cost 4 times more.... I wanted my bathroom tile floor cleaned and they couldn't use their regular chemicals on it (what the chemicals actually are is unknown - the technicians couldn't tell me either). Unimpressed with the attitude of the 'lead' guy who ordered the other guy around. Next time, I'll do it myself - less drying time and same results. read more

The cleaning they did seems satisfactory but the price was $70 more than I was expecting. The original quote was for $109. When they came, they told me that they would do the cleaning and then use antibacterial spray. While I was the one one who didn't understand that there would be an additional charge, they were the ones that didn't mention that up front. Nice people. Professional. Careful with everything and everything got put back. Petted the cats (that's huge) and left protection under every piece of furniture. They came on time, got a reminder the day before. They weren't at all pushy but I did let them add a room. they couldn't get a coffee stain out but he was honest about it but my little spot robot from Bissell did the trick once he got it started. They didn't clean one of the chairs very well despite charging me for it. In addition, they got water all over my wood floors and didn't even bother to tell me, much less clean it up. In addition, they proceeded to try to sell me their wood cleaning services. I was appalled. I'll get someone else next time. read more

I would not recommend their service. They came yesterday to my home to clean 2,200 sq. feet. They were not friendly and were clearly in a hurry. My carpet looks grey and dingy and is soaking wet (more than I have previously experienced with any other carpet cleaner). I paid more than $500 and my carpets look horrible. They did not move anything as promised, they forgot to do the closets as I had requested, and they left my laundry room with a tile floor soaking wet. When I asked them to re-do a couple of spots, I was told "this isn't new carpet". Spot cleaning consisted of spraying something from a bottle into the air and hoping it fell onto the right spots. Please go somewhere else. This was a disaster. read more

I used them once. Overall they did a very poor job. The "steam" was dead cold. I could feel it on my bare legs and feet as it went by. (Now I realize that steam isn't spelled right in the name - a red flag right there). They rushed the job and obviously considered it more of an opportunity to sell me a bunch of other over-priced services like stain blocker and furniture cleaning. But the real kicker is the hang-up calls I now get every week to my cell phone. Google the number: 888-283-9087. You'll find hundreds or thousands of poor suckers on their robo call list. They look like assholes in their commercials - I guess that's one thing true to form. read more

I plan on using someone else for all future cleanings. The appoint started off with them being 40 minutes late. Then they proceeded to try to sell products instead of just cleaning the rooms I wanted which made this appointment last longer than it should have. I couldn't wait for them to leave my home. My carpet looks fantastic. Many doggie stains and drink spills, but they all came up. Guys tried to sell me deodorizer which I declined, and thankfully my house smells just fine. Just had Stanley Steemer come out to clean all of the carpets in our home plus a couch and love seat. Very, very happy with the results and the professionalism of the two men they sent to the house. Were told they'd be there between 8:00-9:30 and they showed up promptly at 8:00. Have used Oxi Fresh in the past and the results were way better with Stanley Steemer. They did offer the upsells of protectant, etc. but that is their job -- just told them I wasn't interested and they didn't push further. Particularly happy with how great my main carpeted stairway looks. Definitely not cheap, but house feels really clean and still a lot cheaper than recarpeting! read more

Stanley Steamer employees are polite and professional (and always available). We have used them whenever and wherever we have moved to because of the above and their background checks on employees. Nicholes and crew (Englewood) were very poite and caring. They worked hard and took care of our carpet problem areas. They were great. He also adviced us on deals for cleaning 3X per year-which worked out cheper for us since we tend to clean our even new carpets 2xper year. We will ask for this crew again. They also answered all our questions and their professionalism speaks volumes. This is the second time we call on S.S. in this area and have been pleased and thankful. read more

Although my carpets look good after cleaning - I find it frustrating that each visit is "let's make a deal". I would prefer to have a set price without always being told I need additional services that add to the cost. There also seems to be some latitude in the charges by the technicians - when I grimace at one price, it magically changes. read more

Grout cleaning and sealing is a HUGE rip off. We had our master bathroom (1 year old) tile and grout "cleaned and sealed". When it dried there was absolutely no difference in the grout color. It was still dingy and dirty. And supposedly they had also sealed it. I was appalled and worried that I would have to live with it. However, to my surprise, I was able to clean it with a Clorox pen and get it close to the original white. This after I had paid to have it cleaned and sealed. Stanley Steamer is falsely advertising grout cleaning and sealing. Do not pay for this treatment. It is not what is advertised at all! read more

My overall cleaning was fine but this location is clearly not customer service oriented. I scheduled my carpet cleaning for Saturday morning and I wanted to be the first stop. I was told by the customer service rep that I would be the first stop between 9 and 12. When the day came, it was 10:00 am and nobody had showed up. When I called the first time, the gentleman was very nice and told me the technician was finishing up his first job and would be to be shortly. This was very upsetting as we had been told we would be the first stop and planned our day around this. When my boyfriend called back to speak to a supervisor about this issue, the supervisor was not very helpful and kept asking "What do you want me to do?" The supervisor then read the recorded call from when I originally booked and only read the part where the Rep said "would you like the 9 to 12 slot?" He refused to read any further down the transcript where she told me I would be the first stop. He then told my boyfriend that was never said and essentially called me a liar. He was not helpful in any way and was very insulting about this. He seemed to care more about protecting an employee that said something should not have rather than helping the customer. This is unacceptable and I will NOT be using them in the future. read more

They said our set appointment was between 8 and 9:30. They were there at 8:15. They walked through what we wanted to have done, and gave us the concerns of some areas that might be trouble spots. They were done at 10, and our carpets looked like when we first bought our town home. I've read all the anti reviews about the "upsale," and that comes with the territory with all service related businesses. They did the same about the deodorizer, to knock down our pet smell, and the scotch guard for our high traffic areas. They were not pushy about it, just some suggestions. Pam Z talks about how there seems to be some latitude in charges, that is with all retail industries, if you push hard enough. I plan on having them out next month to do my air ducts and my tile floors. I think people who give negative reviews, either have unrealistic expectations, are bitter former employees, or are just negative people who like to complain. read more

They did a good job cleaning the carpet... BUT, I was quoted in the low $200 range and ended up being upsold and charged $400!!!! $400 to clean 4 rooms is WAY TO EXPENSIVE! Set up an appointment to have 6 rooms and 2 hallways cleaned. I drove 90 miles the night before to meet the tech. Got a call 3 hours before his arrival and was told that they were canceling the appointment due to snow. They said there trucks are not equipped to come up into the mountains when it snowing. IT WASNT SNOWING ! I asked why I wasn't notified sooner and was told that he was on vacation and just saw the order that was placed 5 days ago! The order was placed through your website which gave no indication that you guys cant drive in snowy conditions so my question is this, why do you advertise you service the Colorado mountain areas but then are unable to? I had a "move out " deadline to meet and thanks to this half a** operation I almost didn't ! I will go out of my way to let people know NOT to use Stanley Steemer. Completely unprofessional and not at all honest. Funny but Servicemaster was able to come up into the mountains and clean my carpets on very short notice. read more

If I could give this visit a 2.5 star I would. My carpets needed cleaning and I chose the 2 room and hall special for $99. I've used Stanley Steemer before and have always had excellent service and excellent techs. The guys they sent out said my one room would count as 2. I told him no way. Every time SS comes out, they count it as one and I'm not paying you extra. he was kinda snotty about it. I told him the one room he was doing was small so on average, it was still 2 rooms and a hall. He said it didn't work that way. I told him I didn't care since my room always counted as one before. He did the job I asked but wasn't very friendly. The carpet came out OK. Other techs have done better. I had some pet stains and pointed them out and asked them to make sure they really paid attention. I had to have them re-do a few spots. Other techs have done a better job. I think I just got the bad guy on the team. I will use them again, but if I get another inferior tech, I'll call dispatch and have them send someone else out. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!! I had stanley Steamer come out this past weekend to clean my carpets. One of the carpet cleaners decided to hook up a hose to my outside line and he busted a pipe in my house. The temperature outside was 14 degrees and snowing! If you have half a brain you would know that it isn't going to be a good idea to do this. Well, after being promised that a supervisor would call me and I had to wait all weekend wondering what they would do. Monday came and went and no supervisor called me so I called on Tuesday and after another hour finally a so called supervisor called and he told me it was my fault!!! MY FAULT!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, THEY WILL COME IN AND BREAK A PIPE AND NOT FIX IT!!!!! I used them because I thought they were a reputable company, after looking for them on the BBB, they aren't even accredited with the BBB. Do yourself a favor and use a reputable company and one that will take responsibility if they break something. read more
