Stanton in Augusta Ga. If I could give 0 stars, I would. I will NOT be going back! I made an appt for my 7 year old daughter for Sunday @12:05pm. We were there when they opened at 12 with a few people waiting ahead of us. We all signed in. She called my daughter's name and gave us the tablet to enter our information. Part of the document includes informing you its a telemedicine visit. Ok no problem.Now we had to wait to get called back. While we waited we looked around for glasses and found some she liked. After about 30 minutes, we were called back for the first part of the exam. After that was done we were sent back to the waiting room until we were called back for the second part. We continued to look at the glasses while we waited and had settle on the ones we wanted so we sat down. After another 30 minutes, we still had not been called and I noticed that people after us were going back. So I went to the desk to inquire how long it would be. She skied her name and said hold on and went to the back. I could hear her talking to another woman saying "I didn't remove her. I don't know what happened. It must be a glitch in the system." She comes back to me and says somehow my daughter and another patient was removed from the system and they were getting us added back. They would be Working on getting us seen. Ok things happen. I sat back down After ANOTHER 30 minutes, we still were not called back and more people were going back ahead of us. As I was walking toward the desk, the lady the did the first part of the exam said you are next. So I waited again. Now the other lady approaches, I'm thinking it's to call me back. Instead she asks, Does your daughter know her letters? Yes, I answer. She then says, because she's 7 they refractionist can see her virtually. She needs to be seen by a doctor and there is none here. We need to make an apt for another day. My face fell to the floor. They waited until I had been there over 2 hours to tell me!?! They knew she was 7 when I entered her DOB for the appt! They knew when I signed in at the front desk and they knew when she had the first part done! Yesterday they said NOTHING until 2 hours had been wasted there. And they way it was said, there was no empathy or concern about the situation. It was just like oh well. Again, I will NOT be going back and I have already told my friend who was planning to go in the upcoming weeks not to bother going there. read more

The front desk staff here were very nice and this review is in no way towards them. Obviously they do not give priority to appointments. I work in a dental office and we see walk ins at a certain time of day. During that time we also see appointments. We ALWAYS give priority to our appointments...otherwise what is the point of even making an appointment??? I sat in the waiting room for over an hour and watched all of the walk ins go before me. This gives me NO incentive to make an appointment ever again. What's the point??? Super annoying. Also, the administration of the company are the ones who need to fix this issue. This isn't the staffs fault. I understand that this is a chain store and the staff just has orders that they are expected to go by. But still...appointments need to take priority!!! And this goes for ANY business that wants to stay in business read more

I have never had an eye exam, so I chose Stanton to have one done because I was having issues with my left eye. The eye exam, ordering the glasses and all that was fine, it was not until I paid that the issues started. I was told that my glasses would be done that day before I paid, after I paid, they said it would be tomorrow. I called the day after and it was 2 days from now called on that Saturday which was 2 days from the last time I had talked to them and they said they were not sure when. I called back Monday they still did not know. Tuesday I called and I told them I needed an answer and it was inappropriate for me to pay this much and then have no answer. Conveniently they checked that days packages and found my lens and they were ready within the hour. I called ahead because I saw the standing room lobby area just driving by. I just need my glasses repaired and adjusted. They gave me an appointment at 3:45 which I was shocked because again seeing the standing room in the lobby. I arrive in time no one is there to tell you where to sign in because apparently there's multiple locations to sign in. I sign in up front 20 min later a customer had to tell me where to properly sign in. Now I'm waiting over an hour just to do a adjustment and repair that took them 10 mins. read more

I could get into many details regarding my issues with Stanton Optical, but I will try to make it as simple as possible. After two visits to their store within in a 6 month time frame, my 7 year old daughter failed an eye chart exam at her pediatrician (with brand new glasses on her face). Stanton was tremendously difficult to work with, even though I suspected that she was in a wrong prescription and went to them to try to get it fixed. They were so difficult to deal with that I decided instead to take her to our local hospital's pediatric ophthalmologist. The new doctor dilated her eyes and performed a thorough exam. The prescription Stanton had her in was +175 and +150-- the pediatrician said that this prescription was OFF THE CHARTS wrong- and her new prescription is +4.75 in both eyes-- and she said no wonder my child has been having a difficult time reading as she can't see!!!! I highly recommend that children not be seen by this company. read more

I don't recommend anyone come here. Although they have improved in their wait time, which is why i gave them 2 stars instead of 1. The other day i went in for an eye exam for some contacts. Everything went well. I realize the presciption is for a -1 for my left eye ( which previously was a -2.25) and a -1.50 for my rt eye which was also previously a -2.25. So today i went in and explained to them there's no way my eyes have changed for the better that drastically. Im a delivery driver for marcos and used the trial pair they gave me to see. I was squinting to see mail box numbers. The lady said oh well this prescription is for the toric lenses. I said..i dont know what that is because I hadn't previously been prescribed those lenses. She said the dr wanted to try something new. I said can i just get what i got last time and stated she would change the prescription and the order. Just checked my order. The toric lenses which i didnt want will be here next wk. So tired of their crap. Again highly suggest you go elsewhere for your eye care needs. read more

I have to say that my experience at Stanton Optical has been fantastic. I had a great eye exam..the doctor was very thorough & friendly. The service was great & very attentive. Set appointment for 1025 didn't take me in for my eye exam till 1145. Then it was a virtual doctor that was more of a robot. Then had to sign in again for my glasses so far waiting again it's been 1 hr and still 5 people in front of me. The guy that does glasses red headed moves at a snails pace . Only calls a name out at a whisper and it is dirty as shit in the store. I do not recommend this place unless you have a day to waist. read more

This is our second time purchasing eyeglasses here. Of the eyeglass retailers in the Augusta area, Stanton has the largest selection of medium and higher quality frames from name brands and the lenses are fabricated onsite. Their prices are competitive for eyeglass retailers in the area. We had a small snafu with our order, which the general manager Doug, bent over backwards to remedy to our satisfaction. The staff members are friendly and attentive. Would recommend. read more

The Dr. was very nice and so is the staff, but they are understaffed and the gentleman that ordered my contacts and glasses didn't explain anything to me and said my contacts would be there in 3 to 5 days, I still don't have my contacts, plus free didn't ask if I had a specific brand that I wanted, he just ordered them. The doctor was good but my frames broke or were broken during the process of putting on new lenses and I get there and they tell me my frames were broken. Why didn't they call me so I could give them my other pair and have those framed instead and on top of that. One of the employees blatantly shouted "if he gave us a good pair in the first place I wouldn't have to do more work"..... like what? These are the employees your hiring at this place? At least say it under your breath. Beside the clear unprofessional worker they have in the lens maker place or whatever, this place wouldn't be to bad. read more

Nope! Was told to come pick up my glasses after 5:00 P.M today , when I get there around 5:30 P.M I was #7 in line for service. I guess a lot of people go there after work, I get it! But! There is one lonely lady ( chewing gum) passing out the glasses for pick up! From start to finish it takes this lady 15-20 miiiinnuuuts per customer no lie! Also the lady puts the glasses on the customers faces ( there should be policy against that) she can clean the glasses and hand them to the customer to try on. At 6:15 P.M I checked the sign-in list and found that there are still 3 customers ahead of me, I scratched my name out and left. I will be back again in the morning to get my glasses. This the last time I will be getting anything from Stanton the place is always packed there is no direction on where to go, the staff is not the friendliest you ask a question you almost feel like a burden. Your TV commercials do not tell the truth about your company, upper management needs to make a surprise visit to see how this place is run. People that work there don't look happy and complain under their breath when walking past you. read more

Been trying to get my glasses since June. Here it is almost August and still no glasses!!!! Very disappointed

So I went in to pick up two pair of glasses and as the sign directed I put my name on the list with the time of arrival. Then this guys elks in and stands in front of the desk where people where getting their glasses adjusted. It is obvious that this guy can not read or see. Since he watched another person come in and put their name on the list. So he walks over the one of the opticians and says "I've been here for 20 minutes". So she asks his name and puts it on the list. Then to my dismay she gets his glasses and fits him while the rest of us wait. The world is full of morons and businesses continue to cater to them. Well I have this store a one because there isn't a lower setting. Very unprofessional they promised a delivery date and did not meet it. It says on the back of the receipt that they give a full refund if the promised date is not met. My wife called for several days to get the refund and was transferred around and was finally told she could get her refund...she sent me, and in typical1980 something Georgia style begging a man I got zero hassle...way to keep up with the times...do not go to this store. read more

I went on Sunday to get sunglasses made supposed to pick up on Monday at 5:00 received a call at 2:00 saying that the line mark for the no lens did not look right they ask me to come in to remark them an they would be ready. I got 2 phone calls saying I could pick up my glasses and I go on my only day off (Sunday) and I get there an apparently that portion of the store was "closed"- FOR A PICK UP!? Have had to return 3x for fittings and now will finally do a "re-style" b/c they refused a refund; which really frustrates me as i'm not happy. This place is the absolute worst. As I sit here waiting for my glasses, I've decided to pass the time by writing this review. Forgive any typos, as I CAN'T SEE. I will start out by saying that the actual doctor that did the eye exam was wonderful. Great, personable guy. His girls out front at the check in, I can't say the same for. They were rude and acted like I was bothering their day when I checked in for my *scheduled* exam. The tech was also rude and acted like she couldn't wait to get me out of her little room. After the exam, and an hour of searching for the perfect frames, we sat down with the manager who did all our paperwork to get my glasses ordered. After 30 minutes of that, she informed us that the order had to be sent to "corporate" because the lenses that were needed were no longer made "in house" and that it wouldn't take an hour after all. It would take a WEEK. With our pockets $500 lighter, we left to go get more Advil for my constant eye-strain headaches. A week later, after hearing nothing, we called and the super rude lady that answered the phone informed us that it would be TWO weeks, and that "they told us that and it was on the paperwork". Ummm - no. Incorrect and untrue. I not-so-patiently waited ANOTHER whole week and again, never got a phone call. When we called, again we were treated with rudeness by the lady while angrily said "she was busy and would have to call us back". That never happened so we had to call AGAIN. Finally this time, we were told they were back. Well it's about time and thanks for the effort in letting us know. I realize they are busy, and that I'm not their only costumer. However, I AM *a* customer who paid in full and I feel like I at least deserve decent customer service. It's a rarity these days, but I digress... Finally we go to pick them up. Two of the three pairs of glasses were wrong. The one pair was tinted, and not supposed to be, and the other pair that were supposed to be sunglasses, weren't. Which leaves me to this point in time, still waiting and waiting and waiting. I do have to say that the lady in pick-up couldn't be nicer. But it's too little too late. I will never come here again, which is a shame because they actually do have an amazing selection of frames. Heading out now - sans the sunglasses, since they're still being "darkened". I've been told I will "take priority" when I once again drive down Washington Road later today to hopefully and finally get what was ordered. It can't be this difficult. And yet, it is. read more

The selection and prices are nice--- the exam process was fine too - but THE WAIT to pick up glasses is absurd- I've come back for a second time and am waiting in line for another 45 min a second time to pick up glasses they promised to have ready in an hour at 1045 AM. One hour glasses aren't one hour when it takes two trips and and hour and half to pick up . Incredibly poor process or not enough employees - not sure what's the problem here but I will never come back. read more

Excellent service! Will definitely come back here for glasses. Walked in for glasses for two of my kids. Wait was under 30 min and receptionist was friendly and quick. Eye doc is fun and made my kids feel at ease. Lots of frames to choose from and we will be able to pick them up around 4pm. Prices were reasonable and it was just a painless ordeal. I have had a horrible experience with Stanton Optical. After ordering my contacts in store over 3 months ago, I asked to have them shipped to my home, because I did not want to have come back to the store and wait. Never got a confirmation they were shipped or delivered and waited. Then I called the office to see where my contacts were, and a lady explained they were shipped to their office. I explained that they were supposed to be sent to my home, so she assured me she would mail them the next day and that it would take a couple of business days to arrive. Ok, no worries, it is what it is. But now another 3 weeks later, still no contacts. I called again, to speak to a lady that said the shipping was canceled along the way. I asked why I wasn't notified, and she had no response as they were not notified either. She then explained that she could order some more contacts, which I'd have to wait some more to be shipped out. All through the conversations with Stanton Optical employees, not once was there an apology. So, I got a refund and I will be finding a new eye doctor and contact and lenses provider. Over all bad experience time and time again with this location in Augusta. read more

After waiting 5 weeks for replacement lenses, a lens fell out after about 3 days; took back to store, waited 45 minutes to get fixed, lens fell out after two days; took back, waited 25 minutes to get fixed, lens fell out after 1 day; took back, asked to see manager: he was at lunch and no one could speak to me in his absence. Left phone number and lenses; never heard from him. Tried calling, got put on hold for 10 minutes. Gave up. read more

This place should not exist. They tell you arbitrary dates of when your items will be ready, many of the staff are rude to customers over the phone in front of in-person customers, they tell you your order is ready when only part of your order has arrived, they don't call you when the rest of your order comes in, they change the original order that you made without telling you. Who knew the process from eye exam to getting your order could take longer than 1 month. Overall, this is the most unprofessional business I have ever been to. read more

Receptionist was a bit rude, needs to brush up on her customer service skills. I had to return to the store multiple times because my contacts were giving me a headache, and my vision was very blurry. They assured me that my prescription was correct, and that everything would be fine if I gave my eyes about a week to adjust to the lenses; however, that never happened. After spending about $80 in store, and another $70 for a 60 pk of contacts, I ended up going somewhere else spending about the same amount for a contact lens exam, and I have had NO problems with my new prescription which was different than what Stanton Optical gave me. read more

Horrible experience! The doctor who performed my eye exam was great. Unfortunately that was the only good thing about the visit. They had to order my glasses which took about a week to come in. They somehow broke the frames while trying to get the lenses in. So they had to order them again. I called about a week later and was informed that they were ready. I went to the store and they couldn't find my glasses. Finally they were found but the frames were the wrong ones! I said just forget it. I told them to reimburse my insurance company. The lady said she would that day but she never did. So I had to call my insurance company myself so they could contact Stanton. After all this I took my prescription to Walmart and got my glasses without any problems! Stay far away from Stanton Optical! read more

The wait times are long though and when I bought my glasses one of the lens was the wrong strength...they said it would be ready 2 hours later but then wasn't. Dr. Hoover was extremely nice. Like many other reviews, the same cannot be said for the office staff. Poor management and incompetent staff. I ended up being assisted in ordering my contacts by an employee who came in to help thirty minutes before close. One employee told me and another patient to wait in a spot and we were ignored for over thirty minutes until being acknowledged by a lab technician. This office is very poorly ran. read more

I recently visited this location and the service I received was extraordinary. The doctor did an excellent job and on his first attempt, provided me with a perfect prescription. Despite America Best redoing their prescription three times and never getting it correct. I would definitely recommend Stanton Optical, for eye exams b/c they were fast, professional and courteous. read more

It looks like crap. carpet coming up in places, the AC was leaking from the roof and water was running down the walls and dripping into trash cans. I give this place a 5 star went in on a busy Saturday morning. They took me right in had eye exam pick frames out in no time at all. Prices are good. When I went to pick up glasses at 530 they were done as promised. Sunday one of the arms came loose went back Monday evening at 630 and I must say Wendi was awesome. Terrible place! I had a 1.30 appointment on a Tuesday and left at 4.15. I was told I could pick up my frames on Thursday at 11. I had town on Thursday so i went thee on Friday afternoon. When my number was called the lady couldn't find my lenses for 45 minutes. She told me to try back on Monday. Let's get back to the frame selection. They were next to no choice in my price range. The girl kept looking in a hgher rent area. She spent little time with me. Next time I'll go elsewhere. You can take that to the bank! read more

Well I was here in July and had a great experience. Today I brought my daughter in to see Dr Moomey. No one told me, when I called for this appointment that he never works on Sundays. Great. So they opened at 12 noon. Our appointment is at 12:30. We are still in the waiting room. Waiting. There is a sign which says that people with appointments have priority, yet there are 2 people they just called back who are walk-ins (as evidenced by the sign-in sheet). There are another 6 people signed in for appointments at 12noon. Not sure that's the wisest plan when there's only one doctor working.... To boot: half hour after opening, the bathroom is out of toilet paper. (Grrrr) Looking like we will have to reschedule & this disappoints me GREATLY, as my time is scarce AND valuable. Y'all dropped the ball this time, Stanton. I don't think we will be back after using this groupon:(((((( read more
