I would not recommend. I fell for the hype of the deals they have and my glasses aren't even a year old now and the coating is coming off of them. This location is something else. I decided to get my mom two new pairs of glasses regarding the deal on the window on the 2 for $59 plus full free exam. The whole process LITERALLY took about four to five hours and mind you this occurred on the first week of June. Every single one of your employees has no clue what's going on. It's like a bunch of chickens running around in the store with their heads cut off! When the first pair of glasses was delivered to the store my mom said the prescription was off and the eye doctor corrected it and had re-sent the frames back for correction. Then the other second pair came and when I came to pick it up they said they had to send it back because it was the wrong prescription too. Even though the second pair was still not in the process of being made that they couldn't just sent a memo that the prescription points on the lenses were wrong all along? I spent almost half a grand on these glasses for my mom that it's been about a whole month and a half waiting for them! The poor woman is basically blind without proper glasses & I decided to take a chance on Stanton to help with that! I'm in need of a refund since it's been about almost six weeks since I placed an order for her glasses! Also, tell management to get their customer service in check because whoever that skinny chick with the tattoos on her arms and the shaven sides with the bun on top of her head has gotten a pretty bad attitude! I've already heard a few complaints while I was in the store and it doesn't look good in the neighborhood. I got suckered in by their "2 pairs for $69" deal. The glasses section for that special were a JOKE. I don't care how much of a bargain. I ended up opting for a buy one get one free type deal. Granted, I still ended up with two pairs, but for much more than $69. But I was already there and didn't feel like having to make another appointment, new facility, etc. I was helped by a store manager, who's name I don't recall. He was pleasant and patient. Kinda young looking. The eye doctor herself was also pleasant and patient. One of the other associates, a blonde woman, barked at me and the store manager while finishing up my pre-testing. She stomps in the room and asks the manager, "Why are you taking care of a walk-in? There are appointment-customers waiting. We can't take any more walk-ins." He responded, "She's not a walk-in. She had a 12:45 appointment." She turns to me and barks, "You're the 12:45 appointment? Have you been pre-tested yet?!" I was literally sitting in the pre-test room. She then huffs and puffs and says rather loudly to the manager, "She should be in a chair already!" The manager did apologize and informed me that they were understaffed. He remained calm and professional the entire time. Regardless, it was completely unprofessional. I don't care how understaffed, you do not speak to a customer that way nor do you speak to a fellow co-worker that way...in front of a customer. UNPROFESSIONAL. read more

The customer service here was great! I had an appointment and when I came in they were sooo busy with only 3 people working. They had people coming in and out every 10 minutes that were being very rude. But they handled everyone very well. The wait was long but the service made up for it. Greatly dismayed,, when I went to Stanton Optical in Chula Vista my eye Dr tested my eyes at 20/70 after a few exams my vision was improved to 20/50 now four years ago after running a red light with my lights off the officer who gave me the ticket checked a box on the citation requiring that I receive a driver safety medical exam, my license was suspended fast forward four years my primary care Dr gave me an eye exam with the results of my eyes being 20/70 then I went to a specialist who got my eye site to 20/50, time for new glasses for over ten years I would take my eye paperwork to J C Penny's Optical for my new glasses,never had a problem with my glasses which were made to my eye Dr/s paperwork. Well growing up in Chula Vista I was aware of the Stanton Optical on Broadway and Palomar who advertises two pair of glasses for $59.99 and a free eye exam with purchase of glasses. So I figure $59.99 for two pair beats J C Penny/s $300.00 for one pair of glasses. I went to Stanton Optical received the eye exam sadly the $59.99 glasses only had three choices of cheep frames, then I was told of another special which was buy one pair of glasses for $100,00 get the second pair free. Having gone this far what with the eye exam I felt bound to purchase glasses from Stanton Optical. I took the deal of the $100.00 special, Picked out two frames, then the clerk started with all the costs like transition, glare resistant, scratch proof, progressive glasses resulting in a $600.00 price tag,. Which I paid the clerk, two weeks later I picked up my two pair of glasses thinking nothing about it, I was happy to have two new pair of glasses, surely i would pass my California DMV drive test then my CA Driver License would be reinstated,. My drive test was scheduled for March 18 2021 10:00 Am, the first thing my DMV drive test agent did was take me inside for an eye exam which I failed. The DMV agent wrote down that my eye site was 20/70! The glasses that Stanton Optical made left my eyes with a failing DMV eye exam, resulting in the end of my drive test. Therefor I now need to go back to my eye DR for new paperwork to have new glasses made, also my Eye Dr needs to fill out the paperwork the DMV Drive test agent gave me, then after my eye Dr fills out the paperwork it will be mailed off to DMV Headquarters in Northern California for a new drive test to get my license reinstated about how long this will take I have no idea. As far as being a Stanton Optical customer I highly doubt that! Furthermore I am highly let down in the quality of there work and they have lost a customer. Ask questions!!There are hidden fees. The deal that is advertised on the windows are for glasses that are not favored by most, unless there for a Halloween costume. There is an exam fee associated with all deals unless you have your prescription handy. There's two transactions per purchase. You don't pay what you plan on paying when walking in. The office is super clean and organized. Good selection of frames. The staff all wear masks and observe all protocols for the pandemic. My experience was made even more pleasant by the young woman who waited on me. Het name in Angela. She was so knowledgeable and an expert in customer service. Many customers came in while she was waiting on me. She was able to multitask and keep everyone happy. She has a very pleasant personality and she impressed me with the way she conducted herself. There is no way this place would have 4 stars. The workers are nice enough, but no one seems to know what they are doing. The only person with any common sense is the Dr.! We ordered glasses then were told they were lost in transit (4 pairs??) When they finally came in, the girl told me they were actually lost once they got to the store. That was at least 3 weeks ago if not 4. Now I received a message indicating that my glasses have arrived! WTH?? While I was there I overheard 2 other customers having issues regarding their orders. I believe there customer service ranks pretty low on my scale. I ordered sunglasses and was told they would call me when they were ready. I never received any messages and when I went to their website to track my purchase it did not show. I finally called the store and they said they were their since 5/26/21 and this is 6/4/21 with no notice. If I could give them a negative star rating I definitely would. The staff does not know how to deal with their customers. I went in for an eye exam and a contact lens exam and boy do I regret it. I had inquired about the $59 glasses but decided that I was willing to pay an extra $20 for a better frames. They told me that the contact lenses would only cost me $120 for a six-month pack. Once it was Time to pay my total came out to $769. They couldn't explain the breakdown of what I would be paying for. I told them that I would be ordering my glasses and contacts elsewhere. Another employee who stated she was the manager came over and told me if I would pay cash that day they would be able to cut it down by nearly half. That seemed very sketchy to me so I asked for my prescription that I had already paid for so I could leave. They wrote down a prescription on a piece of paper but told me that my prescription wasn't valid since I wasn't purchasing the products through them. I asked them for a refund and they told me they could not provide one. At that point they did give me the prescription for the glasses however could not give me the prescription for my contacts. Seeing that I was there for over two hours and my daughter was out of school I had to leave. When I returned an hour later I spoke to the actual manager and she told me that that was not right and that The situation would be taken care of. She gave me both prescriptions printed out and signed by the doctor. I ordered my glasses online which I've done for years and never had an issue with. Upon receiving my glasses I realize that the prescription they gave me was incorrect. So now I am stuck with glasses that I cannot wear. I have since contacted the company to get a refund Or to adjust my prescription. They asked if I would be bringing any new customers in so I could get a discount on the re-examination. I don't understand why I would need to pay for them to correct my prescription when they were at fault to begin with. I have never had a better experience doing something that most people consider a chore or errand. From start to finish, this place is an absolute dream. I was greeted immediately (door opened to me) and got a super friendly welcome and introduction to what the process would be. The doctor was energetic and quirky and absolutely amazing. She treated me like a person, not a patient. The price (for me) for an exam, prescription, and two pairs of frames was $193. One star is more than adequate. Wow, even as I'm typing the prompts are telling me that I can type faster!! So critical and not something I want to be told. On a visit to this location, I heard a woman say that it is a scam to pay for the eye exam up front. I didn't know at the time just how much I would agree that it was. We bought glasses here, and got the bait and switch that people are talking about. The staff, at the time, was very nice. Wrong prescription for my husband, the original dr's exam said he needed bifocals, which he did not. They told him he'd have to get used to it. How can you get used to not being able to see anything at all??? Being a busy DOD employee, he gave it the time, but went back after the 30-day money back guarantee period. Despite the fact the new eye exam showed his reading prescription was the same as the first prescription, the manager refused to say the first eye doctor was at fault for this huge mistake. New lenses were ordered, but didn't get any calls they were in. After more than a month of waiting, we found out the lenses were there at the facility. We paid so much more than I had expected to when I walked in for both of us. After paying over $1,000 we are extremely disappointed in their attitude and business practices. After reading the Costco has price matching, and being a member of Costco, we should have gone there to do our business. We have tried at corporate to get money back, they are useless and clueless of their ability at customer service ability. They do not care at all about pleasing their future customers, make no mistake about that. I am sorry to give a BAD REVIEW but do not come near Stanton Chula Vista. First appointment the Doctor was about an hour late and just said "it sometimes is longer with other patients". First pair were not done right. I was not able to see well with my right eye. Had to go back. Lost another hour to have another exam made. Came back for second pair ( after waiting for them to call and never did) and the glasses were worse! but this time, on the side that was ok! I really wish I had read all these reviews before going to this store. Worst mistake ever! The staff are poorly trained and extremely unprofessional. As I can see through all these reviews they have not only made a mistake once but hundreds of times. But seriously, what can we expect when you don't even have a live optometrist doing the exam for you since it's all through video chat. Paid over $600 for 2 pairs of eyeglasses with the wrong Rx (way off). I refuse to take the glasses and demanded a refund. NO REFUND. They go by the 30 day warranty which is absurd, so they literally tried to force me to take the glasses (with the wrong prescription )and meanwhile wait until a next appointment so they could re check my vision and reorder and wait more days, besides being extremely rude. Whoever walks into that store is for the purpose of getting their vision corrected and as for me I would expect to get my right eyeglasses as soon as possible. They take people's vision for granted and all they care about is the money. I went to get the two for 60 something but honestly they were ugly way too ugly. Kind no one would wear but they said buy one get one free. As usually with doctor offices they always add if you want the polarized, lightweight, anti scratch, well with added fees I got two pairs for $390.00 at the regular eye doctor I would get one pair for $450.00 so it me it was well worth it. I for one pair or regular glasses and one pair of sunglasses. The doctor was super nice and energetic and my assistance was Jerry very nice young man. He explained everything no hidden fees everything was straight out. You have to pay the $45.00 eye exam when and if you purchase your glasses then you get it discounted from your eye glass purchase. Some people got mad at that but I think they were upfront told you from the start so if you chose not to pay attention to them that's on you. For me overall good experience will come again. read more
