This review is solely based on the fact that Stanton website stated that the chula vista location has a lab and glasses are ready in 15 minutes. I called after learning my son lost his glasses, thinking insurance wouldn't pay for a replacement since they are brand new...that I would pay out of pocket. First question was about scheduling an appointment... after I said no, I just had a question and wanted to confirm they could have glasses ready today if I came I, the gentleman laughed and said the exam takes 15 minutes and the glasses wont be ready until 2 weeks or so?! I came in yesterday to get my glasses fixed. The optometrist told me that my glasses can only be fixed by welding, since it was not the screw that came out but the frame broke. I asked if they had frames to replace, she looked over every pair of glasses in stock for me with patience and kindness. After discovering my lenses didn't fit any of the frames. She set an appointment for me to get fitted for contacts the next day. She was kind and patient with me. Service was extremely good. read more

They do have you zoom an optometrist, for part of the exam, but each time I get a new prescription my eyes feel brand new! Amazing . I called Stanton Optical before going to the store with my son, Justin. Justin wanted Oakley frames so I called and asked if they had Oakley frames and if they took insurance. They told me they had all types of designer frames and they took insurance. They also said if Justin had his eyes examined for contacts, there would be no additional charge for the eye exam for glasses. We went to Stanton Optical. No Oakley frames. We asked for they to charge the insurance but the guy said he couldn't because Justin had no insurance card. It told him I told them that on the phone and had been told they could pull up his insurance if he had his ID. The gentleman never located the insurance and I said "never mind, I will just pay." He then began to charge me for the contact exam and eye exam. I became angry and said I was told there would not be tow charges for the vision tests. This place is a scam. I will NEVER return. I was given an email and they said they would "make it good". I sent an email to the email address given. They never contacted me. read more

Everything went very smooth, she really took the time to explain the whole process, after the eye exam I was met by Daniel the optician. The experience at the end made everything super easy with the selection of my new glasses, took the time to really explain everything in detail. My brother left the DMV with a failed vision test and needed an emergency pair of driving glasses so that he could go back to the DMV next day to get his license. I called to see if both my kids glasses were ready. I was told they were. My daughter's contacts needed to be re-evaluate for the prescription. So they asked me to bring her. I live about 30 minutes away. Had my kids transfer their online school to the phone to be able to come. We get here and it is closed. Call the number again, and apparently, the answering service just found out that this location won't open until next week. For some unknown reason ‍. I am not happy. Michelle helped me with my glasses today and she was absolutely the best. So attentive and helpful. She was very patient with my picky self; I'm sure Nobody really likes having to get glasses but she made my experience very nice and easy, she even helped me choose. The doctor was also very nice while she explained everything to me from my eye affections to how comfortable my eyesight was with different prescriptions. Literally worst customer service ever. I already knew that, but people like me who are always busy, out time is precious. Today I had an appointment and after waiting for almost 20 minutes I decided to leave. When they saw me coming in I never got approached. I had to ask one of the workers and she told me to sit in the back. The lady in the back didn't approach me either. Today they lost a customer! I bet Walmart has way better service than here. Plus my moms glasses that she got from here broke like a month after she got them and the contacts I got to "see better" actually make me see blurry. this place was horrible. i was told a completely different price on phone from when i got there. 200 hundred plus different. and when i couldn't wear the contactscthey recommended i was told i had to pay for another exam, they wouldn't change the brand of the contact lenses. my prescription was only a couple months and it last for a year. not to mention the worker there was very unkind and rude. they have false advertising on the window too which i pointed out and that is when the worker pushed my prescription at me and "said just leave"!! read more

I came here so they could fix my glasses I had bought at this location. They were loose so it was easy for me to come in & have a PROFESSIONAL adjust them for me. Point being is that if you want this jerk to break your glasses come here, they do it for free. He came out saying my glasses were like that already. I know what I have and knowing my glasses were $120+ I take care of them. So he tells me and said they were already broken but he offered me another set for $50. I could of done it myself and fix them, but I thought people and this center had knowledge on how to do things. I will never come back or even recommend it to anyone. read more

I called to make appointments with Stanton Optical for 3 people. The call didn't go to the location, but to what I think is an appointment line. They had appointments the following day back to back. I asked the gentleman about our insurance coverage, he said we take all kinds of insurance, so just bring your cards with you and we will process it there. We show up for our appointments, a little wait, fill out the computer forms and were taken to get our machine eye test done. 2 of us were completed, 1 sent to do the exam and 1 with nothing done yet, when we found out they doesn't take March Vision/Molina/United Heathcare, but they can give us a discount (Our insurance gives us exams and lenses for free) so, I paid $65 for the exam, lenses and frames (you can choose frames under $99, which they do have a good selection of) only because they had done most of the process and my daughter needs glasses ASAP. VERY DISAPPOINTING that insurance is not checked before and you feel trapped a little. 2 of us didn't end up getting fully examed and now have to find some where else to go. We went through the selection of glasses, waited another half hour for the 1 lady setting up the glasses to be purchased, she was going to do them in an hour but had a room full of people waiting on her, she looked overwhelmed a little and we told her we could pick them up the next day to ease her stress. Pros- availability of appointments, nice staff, selection of glasses is good, technology makes it easier on the patient, easy to find Cons- insurance isn't checked before appointment, you feel obligated to pay their discount because of your needs and they had gone through the process already, when busy 1 person doing the fitting and check out process is not good on the employee or customers, They do have a deal for 2 pairs of glasses and exam for $59, but not sure how limited you are on that deal. read more

Am I literally the only person that remembers that up until 2021 they did same day pickup for glasses? I came in to an appointment and I grabbed two pairs, no crazy upgrades just the anti glare. Mind you I wanted blue light blocking too but I needed them asap. So I go pay about $570 all in all for both pairs. I sign off on my CareCredit and she gives me my receipt. Once it is ALL finalized she says I should be getting it in over two weeks. This is so ridiculous for these bottom of the barrel brands. Came in today to get my daughter new glasses they were very helpful and explained everything very well. We did not have an appointment but one was available later in the day so they had us pick out her frames measured them for her had all that ready ahead of time I was able to pay and have everything ready to go. We came back later in the day they did the eye exam and told us to come back in 1 hour and we would have both pairs of her new glasses which was great last time we got her glasses we had to wait a week. We were able to get a good deal and everything done in one day and we didn't even need to have insurance it was very affordable and she got the frames she wanted not what she had to settle for. My wife and I are due for our eye exams and we will come here when we do ours as well. read more

Horrible customer service. No one greets you when you come in, or tells you that if you have an appointment to go to the back to sign in. I had an appointment at 2:45. When I was finally told where to go, no one was there to give me the tablet to sign in until almost 20 minutes later. At 3:50, I had still not been seen. So I left. No one cared. Also there is still a pandemic happening. Businesses had to open to jump start the economy, not because COVID 19 magically disappeared. It's filthy here and I've watched patients come in and out, not once was anything wiped down after they came out the exam room. One of the patient I watched come out had really watery eyes and nose and had taken his mask off and rubbing his runny ass face all over with his hands. Yuck! No hand sanitizer for customers use either, at least non visible or readily available. I looked around while I waited. Total gross! Gross as in disgusting, and gross as in negligent to customers coming in! Please don't even try to remedy this comment with an automated bs response Stanton Optical. From the moment we walked through their doors for our appointments we were met with great service. The employees taking turns letting us know we were not forgotten and how long more until we were helped. Still waiting on my refund. Told 4 to 6 or maybe 6 to 8 weeks. For my refund. I'm so disgusted and angry. My initial appt. Was 8/10/21 after two exams they couldn't help me. Asked me to come back for 3rd appt I requested a refund. I paid cash.....Why do I have to wait so long you took my my money that initial appt. My refund should also have been immediate. Try calling their customer service call no one even answers. Don't pay upfront is all I can say. Better yet don't give them your money at all. We came early to the appointment and they were running REALLY late, So we return the glasses asked for a refund and the store stated we had to wait for corporate to issue a check. Here we are almost 2 weeks and still no refund, I do not recommend this place because they over book and it is a long waiting time. It will take 3 to 4 visits for you to get the glasses corrected. read more
