Great burgers and fries. Even slightly cold the fries were still good! No rigger mortise like McDonalds. The burger is huge and fresh. I added jalapeños and avocado. Customer Service was excellent. Daniel was positive and very helpful. Wonderful burger place. Parking can be difficult but so worth it. The Fong family has kept the quality up for years. The in-laws used to have a grocery store in that same space back in the 1960s and 70s. It got changed to serving great burgers and fries. I highly recommend it. It's one of the only three places that I eat burgers in Houston. Check it out.

Very solid burger, would consider a top 3 in Houston. Prices are pretty fair, no more than $13.50 for one of the more deluxe burgers, though 'monster burger' with 1 lb of meat is $21.50. I got the Holy Cow and my fiancée got the Miss Piggie. The Holy Cow had a decent size, and was pretty well balanced. Patty had a good cook to it, and was well-seasoned. My only note is the bun started to fall apart was I was eating it. It's a bit too soft. Fiancée like hers, though it had a raw look to it, which we were told was due to it being a mix of beef and pork, so heads up on that! The french fries were damn good, and quite fairly priced as well. We also got a bowl of house chili. You get a decent amount, but I wouldn't order it again, a bit salty for my taste and the beef was kind of 'crumbly', I think it needs more direct heat and more of a cook before being thrown in a pot. Inside is pretty spacious, kind retro diner look. Bathrooms are clean. Friendly staff, and manager(?) checks up on everyone. Parking is easy, though I'm not sure what the full parking situation is since we went at night.

I ordered the bacon burger and my wife ordered the mushroom burger. They both were very delicious with one complaint. Not very many mushrooms. Otherwise a great meal and I would highly recommend Stanton's if you are in downtown Houston.

Hadn't been back in over 10 years, and it's like the place hasn't aged a day. Still locked in time with its old-school diner counter and antique wall decor. The burgers? Massive. Unapologetically messy, grilled to perfection, and still some of the best in town. I forgot how damn good they were. The chili cheese fries. The kind that make you question how we ever settled for canned chili anywhere else. No beans. No shortcuts. Just chunky tomato, real ground beef, and flavor that punches through. This is chili the way it's supposed to be. Washed it down with a cold sugar cane soda and walked out full, happy, and wondering why I ever waited this long to come back.

Best burgers in Houston! I came with the family today and the place is a complete diner! I've seen so many wonderful transformations here but the food is and has always been so delicious! I always recommend Stanton's! Today I had the grilled chicken. It has been so long! If you live in Houston or are just visiting, you definitely want to come here. Order and pick up to go or stay and eat. It's so close to downtown and has great service!

After seeing this cute spot in the heights that seemed to be an old-school no frills burger joint, we decided to stop in and get a bit to eat. Both of us were surprised shakes weren't on the menu considering the vibe but that wasn't a big deal . I ordered the equivalent of a mushroom Swiss burger (but asked for the bacon to be on the side) and then an order of waffle fries. The staff at the counter was very friendly as well. When the order came, I was impressed with the soft and fresh bun and was ready to dive in. The burger was a bit meh and thought it really needed fresh veggies like lettuce and red onion to it so it didn't taste so plain. My boyfriend also felt that his burger was good not great. While the decor and ambiance are cute and fun... it seems like it used to be an authentic burger joint with that vibe and now it's just a reminiscent feel and it wasn't kept up. All in all, we'd come back but it won't be at the top of the list and we'd both be making adjustments to our order.

The patty ans bun may have gotten smaller since my my first visits but it's still a solid choice for a delicious and filling burger. The inside has changed an over time making it bigger and more deli/diner style vs a grocery store. Staff is always super friendly and food comes out quickly.

This place is like stepping back in time. Great no frills place with incredibly good burgers. I recommend the Ms. Piggy (1/2 ground beef and 1/2 ground bacon) but every burger is tasty. The fries are out of this world as well. The staff are always friendly and it's kid-friendly.

We called Shara's our order, it was ready soon after our arrival. The atmosphere is a neat vintage diner. Order at the counter and then be seated. The food was solid.

This is one the of the OG spots that BOTM revisits pretty regularly. Many have claimed as the city's best. I have been a few times and it's a solid burger. I haven't decided on my personal favorite, but you can't go wrong here. They are fresh AF. My burger was HOT. Like burn your mouth kinda temps. Pretty good with customizing and options on the menu. We came out for a pre-game meal. We left full and ready for another win. Give it a shot. Go Coogs!

This one has been on my radar for a while. I'm glad I finally stopped in. Solid four stars. Great burger. Food: I went with the bacon cheeseburger and it was made to order and made the perfection. A very nice size piece of meat came out that was sizzling hot. Every bite was great. The waffle fries were exceptional. I really enjoyed the crunch. I also like the decor on the inside it's like walking into an old school diner. Great customer service. The young lady that took my order was very nice and my food came out in a decent amount of time. Solid four stars I would definitely come back !

Great customer service as you walk into a vintage style vibe location with the countertop wrapped around bar and tables on the adjacent side. Greeted us and explain the menu to us old school registers present to show vintage aesthetic vibe . Order two burgers with onion rings and fries some recommendation from the clerk to help us out and taste what is ordered and preferred customers They make their own patties and it looks like bake their own bread have plenty of add-ons and burger styles to customize your order Will definitely return to try out other options

Very cool place just outside of downtown. The place has history and you can tell as you as you walk in (watch your step!). Vintage hardwood floors. To my surprise they sell Joe Tea. One my my favorite bottled beverages. The burger was OUTSTANDING. Loved the hand formed patty. The bun was a little much but the burger still shined. Waffle fries were nice and crispy. Staff was friendly. I look forward to going back next time I'm in Houston.

The tots were crispy but tasted slightly of old oil.

The restaurant is always nice and clean including the restroom. The restaurant has a lunch option for 2 items for $25. What a steal! I got the wedge salad because I love the smothered blue cheese dressing. I got the mahi mahi tacos. Tacos were a good lighter choice. I didn't realize that it came with fries. Service: not great, we had a manager start off as our server but she was awkward in a "not socially aware" way (ex. she kept saying our server had to use the bathroom, even when our server came to the the table and looked so embarrassed; she also told me my non-alcoholic drink order would not taste good without knowing it's what I drink at home), rushed us (every time she said she would give us a moment she'd come RIGHT back to the table within seconds) Our actual server started off rocky as well, perhaps wasn't having a good day and she was visibly annoyed with the manager. She was short and blank with us until she realized we're very nice lol and by the end, her tone and energy had completely shifted for the better. The foreign object: about 2/3 of the way through the meal, I bit into a small piece of blue plastic. Did not know if it was in the fish or the mac and cheese, but I was devastated because I was almost finished eating but couldn't due to paranoia. Our server handled it swiftly and the manager came and let us know it was take off the bill and offered free dessert. Overall, not bad and the food was good enough to where I would go back and give them another try in the future.

Instead, it is about the way we were treated by the hospitality manager, Kryssalyn Bayne. Our party consisted of five people, including a 97-year-old senior citizen. When we arrived, four of the five members of our party were present, and there were no guests waiting to be seated. However, Ms. Bayne was focused solely on the fact that one member of our party had not yet arrived. She informed us that other guests had been seated because they had called ahead, although this option had never been communicated to us during any of our previous visits. What was most concerning was not the seating policy itself, but the manner in which we were treated. Ms. Bayne's demeanor was loud, confrontational, and, in our opinion, disrespectful. We had all just come from church and were simply trying to understand the restaurant's policy. When I politely suggested that she lower her voice, she responded by accusing me of speaking disrespectfully to her staff, despite the fact that I had not spoken to anyone other than her. Grace's has always been known for its hospitality, which made this experience especially disappointing. I believe the front-of-house staff, and particularly those in leadership positions, would benefit from additional training in customer service, de-escalation, and professional communication. Every guest deserves to be treated with courtesy and respect, regardless of the circumstances. Unfortunately, this interaction overshadowed what should have been a pleasant meal and family gathering. We were seated at Table 14 & served by Mr Lewis who was a breath of fresh air. The food was good despite the entry.

When out of town business visitors come to Houston and seek balance, this is one of those spots worth paying a visit. Having this location downtown the last couple of years has been more convenient for those working in the area. Vibe / Interior - 4.5* So how has this spot managed to compete and survive in the Houston food scene? Well, there's a lot to unpack but I will say one perspective is the effort for balance. When you walk in you will get a sense of how well it toes the line between not being too upscale and pretentious yet not solely casual when it comes to the vibe. Someone in a business suit will fit in just as well as someone in a soccer jersey catching the World Cup. Food & Drink - 4* Balance shows up here too. They have a good selection of options from starters such as sticky ribs, bang bang shrimp, smoked pork belly, or maybe some oysters, poke, or kung pao calamari? For entrees you can go a little lighter with a salad or fresh fish or dive off the deep end with a chicken fried steak or pork chop. Whiskey, wine, or beer? Or a cocktail? They have a bit of anything you may fancy. Their cocktails aren't overly creative but they have plenty of the classics. I'm not going to sit here and say that any of their dishes will be the best in town. What I will say is they do tend to be above average. Again, it's about choice and balance. Service - 4* I've not experienced bad service here. The servers are always attentive and check in frequently. Most will make good recommendations dependent on what you're looking for. If there's only one area that I've found can be a little lagging sometimes is the close out. While they do check in during your visit, getting the bill/check and getting out can be a bit slow, but it isn't terrible. Cost/Pricing - 3.75* I'm not going to say their pricing is excellent, but it finds balance again. They aren't unapproachable but they aren't the cheapest. They do tend to deliver good portion sizes and higher quality than other establishments for what they serve. Overall - 4* Support local establishments, especially when visiting such a diverse city like Houston. If you find yourself downtown looking for an approachable restaurant where all are welcome, pay a visit here!
