This seems to be a common problem among those who posted a review. My laptop just wasn't charging and I was getting an error message on my screen. Anthony Russo helped me by experimenting with several cords he had and he concluded it was the box of my charger that was bad. Fortunately he had one that worked for my laptop. He was able to diagnose and give me a new cord in less than half hour for $30. I'm glad to finally get this fixed. Anthony Russo has a kind demeanor and easy to talk to. I highly recommend him with any computer problems you have. The business is located on the 2nd floor of the building and even though there is supposedly a garage nearby, I was able to find street parking and fed the meter (4 quarters for half hour).

Screen wouldn't come on at startup and the entire thing would just power down. Back then I took it to an Apple Store where a genius told me it was out of warrantee and there were no guarantees they could repair, and if they did it would probably be less expensive to just buy a new laptop. I decided to just use my smaller MacBook Air and put the broken MacBook in a box at home. Flash forward to 2025, I noticed Fix that Mac while in Concord and decided to dig out the old broken MacBook to bring in. Josh said he'd have a look and give me a call with what he found. A few days later I get a text from Josh that he figured out the problem with the screen (a known graphics card issue) and also I needed a new battery as my battery was dead from being unpowered so long. We also decided to upgrade the hard drive so performance could meet almost 2025 standards and be able to jump up a few operating systems. After quoting me his estimates for the time plus hardware (which were incredibly reasonable) I gave the go ahead and my laptop was ready in another couple of days for pickup. Is my boosted 2015 laptop a match for the current 2025 line of MacBooks? Of course not! But it's running as well as my MacBook Air now and it's a great backup should I need more processing juice.
