I can sum up this store's problems with one word: Kathina. She's the reason there's currently a high turnover rate at this store with people walking out at least once a week. She's denying breaks to people working less than 5 hours (against the employee handbook), whenever she wants an associate to do something for her she'll just say "come" as if they were a dog, the waste of life will claim that print jobs are not done properly even though guiding cuts are followed to the letter, and if anyone has any complaints to the waste of life in relation to the above she will shush them as if they were fucking CHILDREN back-talking her. If you want to improve this store, you will terminate the employment of that waste of life. I did myself a favor by walking off the job almost as soon as I clocked in on 10/14, but that's $6 I'm not getting back from the MTA. I did not travel roughly an hour each way just to get verbally abused by Kathina. read more

I love this Staples store on Broadway and 57th street! The store personnel are always helpful and by far have the quickest service of any Staples I have been to in the city. This is also my favorite Express Returns location and Ronald was incredibly efficient in processing my Athleta return in under 2 mins! I always come here to print (at very reasonable prices compared to UPS), buy stationery and essential goods (they stock paper towels!) and just generally browse around. I love this store! I know many retail stores are closing locations and moving to online-only but I hope Staples keeps this one open! read more

I don't know, I just felt as if the staff didn't want to be there, and they didn't want to help. I wandered in for the shipping service. I sometimes ship back stuff from my trip to lighten my bag, I've been know to ship my whole suitcase back too. I usually go to USPS or a UPS store not to far away. But I spotted this on my way and saw the the UPS shipping sign so I thought I'd give it a try. I stand by the shipping desk, no one around. I finally flag a person down and said I'm going to need a box he points to the area where there are boxes, I walk over select one and go back to the shipping desk. Again, no one there, hunt him down and ask for tape, (it's a shipping center right?) So he leaves me to do that, again, I hunt him down. What's the next step? It's clear I've never been there before, so some information please...this is taking too F'n long. So I finally get some help and I'm shown the computer I type all my info in, now what? He's gone again, so I wander over to the main desk where the registers are, I told them I wanted to pay for the shipping. I was asked were the shipping slip was, I said I don't know, I figured it printed out where I needed to pay, but no it's at another counter. So the guy reaches over and gets it and rings me up. I should have walked over to the post office on 8th., that one is open late, or the UPS that I normally go to, I hand them my stuff, they box it I tell them my phone #, boom out comes a shipping slip, I pay and I'm gone. The only reason this place gets a second star was for being open and because I really hate leaving one star reviews. I'll be walking, walking right past here the next time I want to ship things home. read more

This isn't a regular Staples, it's one of their "Copy & Print Center" branches that provide service to make multiple black & white/color copies, posters, fliers, business cards, etc. They do sell notebooks, packs of paper, pens, pencils, folders, printer cartridges, e-reader accessories and other forms of stationery and office supply things. My reasoning for coming here is generally because they have a partnership with Amazon and they provide their location as a mailing location for packages. Through an "Amazon Locker" contraption they will hold your Amazon.com item for 3 days before they send it back. Funny part is that my first time using this service the Staples employee here had no idea how to use it, thank goodness that it's user friendly - just find your order pick-up number via email, type it in and *boom* the locker your item is stored in will automatically open. This is especially convenient if you're not sure if you will be home to take a delivery or can't use your office, but Amazon does have rules and restrictions that are dependent on the size, weight and nature of the product. I would recommend you take a step back immediately after you type in the last character of your code because a certain someone (...kay, me) almost got smacked in the face by locker #13, lol. read more

My mom passed away and I was scrambling to create photo poster boards for the funeral. First, the Staples website: while a little hard to navigate for my particular project, I got quick and excellent support after calling their helpline - from there, the process was simple (and the cost competitive/very reasonable, esp for the quick turnaround AND proximity to me). Next and my review for this local store: everyone - particularly Roz, I think the store manager, and Tyler, their printing expert - was so helpful. They talked me through the process, said they could adjust whatever I ordered online, called me twice, finished the job so quickly and perfectly - had three gorgeous mounted and laminated poster boards with between 20-30 photos each; got so many compliments on the quality. And got a warm hug from Roz when I picked up the items - it wasn't a cold corporate transaction; it was a human, caring, professional interaction at a particularly difficult time for me. I came in here because I needed a scientific calculator for my Statistics class, as well as some school supplies. I couldn't find the specific model for the calculator I needed. Veena, the salesgirl saw me looking around and asked if I needed help. I told her what I was looking for and she checked for me. This particular location didn't have the calculator I needed so she offered to have it shipped to my house for free. And it was next day shipping too, which was awesome. This is a small Staples specializing in Copy Center work. This location has a few - pardon the pun - staples, but it is close to the large 57th St location so if you are looking for office supplies, go to 57th St on Sixth. If you need some printing work done, avoid 57th St and high tail it over here. When I first started going here for large posters, Paula was the manager and she was the very essence of FANTASTIC! A true professional, caring and talented. Every time I went she could be found training her ever revolving Team with patience and understanding. The work produced under her care was always top notch. She has since left and work produced there is still good, I just miss her attention to detail. I use their email service to send projects to be worked on and they email me back when my project is ready. They consistently call me if I forget to give them all the details. They will tweak if necessary and in the rare event that they don't have the right supplies, they always upgrade without charging additional and always ask if it will work for me. Prices are higher than I would like but they are competitive. They are open 7am -9 pm M-F and 10-6 Sat, 11-6 Sun. read more

This Staples is probably the worst Staples I've ever visited. Let's be honest, no one ever actually enjoys going to Staples. They are usuall short staffed, some machine is always broken, and the staff is simulatniously overwhelmed and bored. But the staples takes this MO beyond. The two staff members who are there are usually helping someone but at their own snail like paces, and can't even offer directions to those of waiting in one of the many lines because the layout of this store is confusing and again the staff isn't less than helpful they are actively unhelpful. Honestly, the disorganization and the slow pace of the machines and store could be disregarded if the staff even bothered to treat customers with friendly attitudes. I come here to drop off my USPS packages. My tracking numbers always get updated same day and none of my packages that I dropped off here ever get lost. I highly recommend coming here to drop off packages, as opposed to waiting in long lines at USPS (ain't nobody got time for that) or dropping it off in those USPS drop boxes (so unreliable, and tracking doesn't update as quickly). Best of all, this Staples location has early hours, so I can drop my package off as early as 7am, before work! Updated to add: apparently, Staples no longer accepts USPS packages, because of union complaints. It's unfortunate, but it's not anyone's fault. I will still go to this location because they still take UPS packages. read more

This is a Copy & Print Center so the selection is not the same as at the average Staples. However, they did have the thumbtacks I needed & I was able to get in and out in a timely fashion so I have no complaints. read more

I asked the woman helping me to print a document double-sided and she refused, I then asked her to print it with smaller margins and she also refused. She continuously complained about how much work I was giving her. If you're looking to print something, I would recommend you go to a different store. read more

So as I rushed out the door this morning I realized I took my older audition binder that I used last week for an art song festival audition. I only realized this once I was on my train to NYC. Quickly I looked up any copy/printer centers by my audition off 54th and found a Staples close by off broadway and 56th. I quickly emailed them my arias from my google drive and when I arrived they said it would be a 4 hour wait. Mookie from the Staples on 56th and Broadway saw my desperation and quickly printed out my arias, double sided, AND 3 HOLE PUNCHED all with a smile on my face. I was in the area and needed to buy heavy business paper. This place was very busy and somewhat disorganized. I noticed that every box of the paper I wanted was opened so I asked the person behind the counter if they had any unopened boxes in the back and he said no when went on to ask if I still wanted to buy it. I responded that I prefered to buy a new, unopened box because I have no idea if there are missing or damaged pages. He went on to open the box and count each page; licking his finger along the way in order not to miss a single one. All this was happening while the line for service reached the door! Well, he proved that no pages were missing but now I had his nasty saliva and dirty fingers all over them. Because I was pressed for time and needed the paper, I bought them to print out what I needed and threw the rest away. While I'm sure this guy had good intentions, it's unsanitary and unprofessional and above all, I wasted the rest of the box because of it read more

Frank P of Glen Oaks (4/27/17) has it right: "the worst business... EVER"; employees typically show "ZERO desire to be here." I went here twice in January to send packages by UPS, a service the store prominently displayed. I was the only person on line for UPS on the first visit but could not get anyone's attention. I spent nearly forty-five minutes to mail a few boxes, with minimal assistance. My second visit was worse. When I asked a worker for help, he suggested I take the boxes to another UPS office. I said I preferred to stay, and he again urged me to try a different UPS store. I did stay, but for the first time in my long experience with UPS, one of the packages was lost. I gave the tracking number and emphasized the value of the contents, but the national UPS office and the local branch each referred me to the other while disclaiming responsibility. I just came back from Staples with a straightforward printout of 2 PDFs on 8.5 x 11 double-sided job on card stock- what I usually have done. I've been coming here for the past year to get simple jobs printed on card stock. The customer service is pretty horrendous. Namely the small young looking lady with the short cropped hair with the blonde colored dye at the tips. I specifically informed her at my job pick up that I didn't want my printouts to be cut down to size which it already was when I went to pick it up because they normally charge extra and they never trim things down correctly. She has a nasty attitude and replied that it's not going to be charged, and before she even finished her sentence, she walked away. When coming back to my office, I noticed that they cut it down incorrectly, cutting off faces and not following the specific crop marks I had. I went back to Staples within a half an hour and informed them that their trimming was incorrect and asked that they reprint it over. They couldn't even do this simple task. I had 2 PDFs in the email, and it specifically states in my email from them earlier to print them both double-sided. The same young looking lady with the short cropped hair printed the 2 PDFs, but this time, the front and back pages weren't even from the same PDF jobs. The second time she came back, the colors were all pixelated because she wanted to take the easy route and scan the jobs, instead of actually printing them out from then actual PDF. The third time came out fine until I came back to my office to cut the printout down to size and saw that the crop marks on the front and back didn't even line up... This made my printout have a white margin on the left-hand side. This was my go-to spot to have my handmade cards printed, but due to the lack of workmanship and care that goes into having SIMPLE things getting messed up, on top of the horrible customer service by the short little lady with the tattooed hand and blond hair, I'm never coming back again after a year of service with them. read more

This is my favorite Staples. It has everything I need, from pens to post-its and copying. The store is very busy, so sometimes you have to wait and the copying machines sometimes don't work. I know I have given it 5 stars, but the store is very small and very busy. I cut the employees there some slack. :) read more

Convenient location but they have GOT to get faster computers (or at least another browser besides Internet Explorer). I normally never use the computer stations at these places but I needed to print something ASAP and they charge by the minute, and the computer spent the first 3 minutes just loading the browser homepage + I the cost of printing itself. read more

Making copies here is beyond awful. Copier jammed, made copies on the wrong kind of paper, and getting reimbursed took 20 minutes.

I came in yesterday to get my book spiral bound at this particular location. The guy and the old man working at that time (this was ls around 7pm) where nice. Now the lady that helped me with what I need (which was at the time the person responsible for spiral binding my book) was decently nice and helped. Long story short I wanted my book spiral bound and get the book that same day so she took my book and did it for me which is fine. The young guy who was nice told me this lady was the best at doing this job of book spiral binding, nope its a little bit of a lie and exaggeration. She was subpar at best and in the end when I got my book, she over charged me $2 +, when she told me the job cost $8. Bringing my total to like a little more than $10. When I asked what that extra $2 fee was, she said it was tax, upon further inspection of the bill, i saw tax on there, so she lied about that. I did not want to argue further with her as I needed to go. And what really upset was the poor quality of the binding. She should pay me instead due to her lack of professional work. She messed up on one of the pages. It was doubled holed and put out of alignment and when u close the book the top pages does not align. I have pictures to prove it. Be forwarned about the quality of work and the overcharge they will give you for a very poorly done job. I would think twice before coming back to this location. read more

I walked into the store the other night about 30 mins before closing. I was greeted by Lenny (I think that was his name) and asked if I could make copies using cash. Normally you can't do this, but he went out of his way to help me and was exceptionally courteous and professional. I didn't have my debit card and the guy at FedEx was a jerk so I walked to staples hoping they would be more helpful, and they definitely were. I got what I needed and was out in 10 minutes. After leaving a previous five star review, I'm forced to leave a really bad one. Tried to get a simple photo printed this morning for an audition that I NEED with an hour. None of the self service machines were working, and while the employee half heartedly flustered around restarting the machines, an hour and $10 later I left without a picture.
