OK... Staples stores can seem a little, well, frumpy or maybe shabby. They do not feel like a chain of stores that is trying to stay current or impress you with their lighting and displays... they've become sort of utilitarian. And it must be really tough competing with Amazon, etc... but enough of that. What makes all of that OK is people like Sandra. I was just starting to walk down the printer aisle and just starting to realize how overwhelming all of the options are and I hear "Can I help you with anything?" ... for the next 15 minutes I had Sandra at my side escorting me around the store advising me on cables and paper and ink. Was she an expert on everything? Nope... but she also didn't try to BS you into thinking she was. She would say, "Hang on... let me go confirm something with Sergio". (Sergio... there's another person that Staples needs to keep an eye on!) I mean, it's always about a good attitude and the willingness to help. You could plug Sandra and Sergio into ANY of those type environments (Home Depot, Restaurant Management, etc)... where a business benefits from employees being cool to customers and seeing where they can make the customer's life easier. I have a million things to do today. But first, SERGIO. He deserves a 5 star review- I walked in thinking I needed to buy a new printer. He helped me figure out what was wrong with my current printer. He was extremely knowledgeable, and patient. They had some deals on paper and he helped me find the ink I needed. I go to this Staples .... but not sure why.....maybe because when I need an office product I cannot find anywhere else, I can order it if they do not have it in stock and it will be sent to their store. This store is quite messy most times that I have been there...it always looks like they are re-stocking shelves.....especially in the back of the store. The staff is friendly for the most part.... they say hello when you walk in...but I believe it is because they have to. You know, someone walks in..... there is a 'hello' directed towards the air....that sort of thing. This Staples is really lacking in customer service ..... staff should be on the floor. Staff should be accessible. I have always had to circle around the store to try and get someone to help me. I should not have to do that. If you want my business, you should be there to help me otherwise I will become frustrated and leave. And, come on, who doesn't have questions with all of the gadgets and gizmos there are on their shelves. They do have an Easy Tech repair station with techs that can fix your computers for you. It's a pretty basic staples. Im stuck in here for the next 4 hours doing a demonstration for the PayPal Here card reader and app. Its kinda odd hours that my company put me here at this time because 12-4pm isn't usually a busy time of day for an office supplies store. Eh whatever. I'm getting paid. Anyway the staff are pretty cool here. Most staffers are within the 25-40 age margin and don't mind chatting if you aren't a crazy person. And you do get assistance within a minute of walking inside, which I think is a tell take sign of quality. However I am one of the 3 people in here that aren't employed by staples right now. Bah! This staples is super close to me, the employees are helpful and I did like the self service copy/scare/print/fax but OMG the machines took forever. And to fax is super expensive. 4 pages to fax total to Arizona, and it cost me roughly about $2 per page. Very expensive if you ask me. I don't think I've ever paid more than 5-6 dollars even to fax like 10 pages. The employees are helpful but very busy so I had to fax my papers alone. The machine is also very, verrrrrrry slow. Took about 15 minute to fax 4 papers :/ very boring and tedious maybe next time I will prefer to go to fedex read more

Came here to get my iPhone 7 Plus screen service since I dropped it and the screen cracked. I used their tech repair services. It took 1 week to get it fixed and then they come back to me and say they didn't have the part to repair the glass for the home button, and now my home button is broken. They say they can send it out to another office to get it fixed, I got my phone returned yesterday now my phone won't even turn on!! AVOID AT ALL COST. I make a poor choice coming here each and every time. Don't blame me I just moved and the Office Depot I usually go to is a little far. But staples sucks for printing. There usually is a long line & even if there isn't no matter what your printing it can be a blank paper with 1 letter on it. The process takes about 10-15 minutes. It literally drives me crazy. So many steps just for a damn print. At Office Depot all you do is send it, walk up to the counter, they print, you pay, you leave. Get it together staples. What is so difficult. read more

Only 1 self-copier out of 3 was working and the USB reader on that copier didn't work. I had to use their computer station for an easy and simple print job. It ended up costing nearly $20 for less than 60 black and white copies. Staff was inattentive and unwilling to help work around problems caused by their inadequate and faulty equipment. Not the greatest staples in terms of customer service and staffing. I had previously called before coming ask if they can bind a 20 page booklet for me. They said they were so busy and I could go to another place. I decided to come in anyway to get the items to do it myself. So they had the spiral item to bind the materials together however although they had a picture of the hole puncher they said they did not sell it (which was ridiculous) and they offered to try to sell me a three hole puncher and just cut the rest out with scissors myself. Good lord no thanks. I looked at their printing department and they were not busy at all. I didn't even want to bother because they obviously didn't want the business so I don't recommend this place at all. Your better off at another staples in general. As soon as I walked inside, I walked up to 2 females who were gossiping, or so it appeared. One of them answered my question while the other (red/orange hair with too much blush) gave me a look of, "how dare you interrupt us employees to ask a question, customer!" Red/orange girl was so rude, it was hard to not smack her. Then when she finally tried to help me (as the copy/print guy was extremely busy, she didn't even know what to do and brushed me off with attitude. The only reason i give this store a 3 is because of the copy/print guy. He was UBER busy and still managed to stay cool and very helpful. Walked into your location and it was crazy busy. It was understandable with back to school around the corner. Found the paper my kid needed for school that was a plus but what got me upset was that as we waited in a line that was all the way to the back of the store,a customer in line started complaining and went up to a manager in a grey shirt named Stacy,they were speaking their language so I couldn't understand what was said but she let him go and pay in the copy department, When he obviously had not used that dept. I came in to purchase a hard drive that was advertised on special, and the lady (who was the manager) went into the employee room, right in front of my face and brought a used one (box seal broken, no shrink or anything) she gave me lip about the advertisement coupon that I had, that was clearly valid. I didn't even make it into this store and I know I will never give you guys my business. I called and asked a simple yes or no question, and I was hung up on. I called back to speak to a manager, I'm given a key holder who doesn't even know if she's a manager or not. So again I ask to speak to a manager, and the same key holder tells me to wait because he is talking to somebody else. Your customer service needs to be fixed and your people on the phone need to start learning how to speak normal and not ghetto. Just because you work in the hood doesn't mean you need to act like you're in the hood. I think it's safe to say I will not be stepping foot in your store ever. I'm not a huge fan of this staples and it's not fully stocked either compared to other staples in the valley. I called in looking for a particular product and asked they put it on hold. The person I spoke with said they'd put it on hold. Upon arrival the item is nowhere to be found and what they thought was the product was an empty box. How you can't tell the box is empty by holding it is beyond me. They could've ran a check on the system to see if they had any in stock. I ended up buying a different product but nevertheless my annoyance arose at wasting my time coming here just to find the product I was buying was not available. First off, I placed an order for Pick up of a SD Card. It said wait 2 hours for pick up to be ready.. Waited 2 hours...called the store. I was on hold for 10 minutes before someone picked up. I said i was checking to see if my order was ready to be picked up. he put me on hold to check...came back after 10 minutes asking for the order number. gave it to him and placed me on another hold... I was on hold for another 25 minutes.....So i hung up. I called back immediately and was waiting over 20 minutes just to get to talk to a rep. No answer so i hung up... So i was on hold for a total of 65 minutes!!!! HOW!??! ALL I WANTED WAS TO SEE IF SOME LAZY EMPLOYEE ACTUALLY GOT UP AND GRABBED A MEMORY CARD!!! IT SHOULD BE VERY QUICK!! Staples is the place I think of first when buying office supplies. Then Target. They have verything you would want in an office supplies store. I like way it smells in there, too. I guess that's the smell of office suplies. :P The employees don't ask if you need any help. But usually people who go there already know what they're there for. So, Staples is cool. And they have nice people working there..sorta. Ummm.. I don't get people who want to marry the dang store it's not that good. The Office Depot is the best of all. They're bigger therefore have more supplies and more supplies in stock. Anyway, they have really comfortable desk chairs. My sister got the biggest chair in that store. After a bad experience at Best Buy, so I went to Staples. I explained to the salesperson what I was looking for and he understood everything I said. I saw a new type of wireless router that uses a USB key and installs all by itself. I asked many questions which he answered so a normal person can understand. Bought it, installed it in less than 5 minutes and now my wireless internet is working just fine. He was very patient and wanted to make sure all my questions were asked and answered. I was there yesterday. Paper was less than six dollars a ream, and copies (even legal size!) were nine cents a pop. Nine cents! What else you can buy for nine cents, today? Plus, it's right next door to a Dollar General store, so after you deposit your Staples items in your trunk you can go next door and buy earbuds, glue, sponges, conditioner, and dandruff shampoo for a buck each. You'll think you're in consumer heaven. For a really peak cheap experience, stop at Van Owen and Laurel Canyon on the way home and spray wash your own car for less than three bucks. Gawd. Can you even stand the money-savings? Perhaps Yelp needs a section on "money saving excursions where you can hit three or more shops on a single route and go home with cash in your pocket). Waited for about 5 minutes before even being acknowledged. The employee at the print station by the name of Brian (bowl cut longish straight fluffy dirty blond hair, with a pale complexion and nerd appearance) was busy at the time with another man in front of me who was also annoyed at the extreme slowness of this worker. Brian refused to help me even tho I waited in like for 10 minutes by the time it was my turn. I was the only one in line until right before it was my turn. Upon me walking up to print, three more people got in line and waited not even a minute. Brian says he is much too busy to help me because there are other people he needs to help. I asked who because nobody else was in the area when I walked up and he points to the three people in line behind me. Are you fucking kidding me?! I stood in line for over 10 minutes for you to start helping the people behind me who just got there? Instead of arguing because I was honestly shocked he would say such a thing to me I let him help one couple behind me and was hoping he would come back to me after "cutting down the line length". He then comes back to me and tells me it costs $5.39 to print two labels in one email. I told him I never paid more than a $1 for labels and I frequented staples to print all the time. He fidgets for over 3 minutes on the computer going between two sections on the computer. I notice the colored icon was selected and asked if he tried to print in color. The image was clearly of a label and black and white is set to default unless you click otherwise so I don't know why he would select color besides him obviously trying to overcharge me. He then proceeds to tell me it will take an hour for the printer to print my single piece of paper! He was doing everything to piss me off at that point and had a smirk on his face by then. Furious by how long this is taking and how this worker loves infuriating customers, I asked him to call for the manager since he clearly could not do his job efficiently. It was 20 minutes by now to print a single piece of paper! The manager was slightly nicer and looked like he had to come over quite a lot to help Brian out because now the area was super crowded and he had to also help 4 other groups of people because of Brian's lack of efficiency. I got my piece of paper printed for less than 30 cents, not $5!! The printer printer the paper out in 5 seconds, it didn't take a whole hour! And the manager kindly came and handed me the sheet of paper personally apologizing for Brian's lack of service. This whole trip should have taken 5 minutes but took a whopping 35 minutes to complete! This was the most ridiculous experience I have ever had at a staples. Normally staples (all locations I've visited) have decent service and nice workers. Brian must hate his job and want to fuck with the customers. You can tell by his slight smirk when he knows you get annoyed by his antics! I don't know how managers dont see this! This man deserves to be fired! read more

This is my go to location for office supplies. The staff is helpful , but then it's not. Service is inconsistent from day to day & person to person. You go to staples ,to buy staples to staple paper you don't need, to give to people you don't like. Office supplies check, limited stock of laptops/tablets/cell phones/ electronics? Check.
