Just wanted to share my experience at the Staples Sports Arena store today. I went in for a Curbside Pickup of a Fire Stick 4k I purchased online. In the process I noticed my confirmation stated the Sorrento Valley Store and it was to be shipped and not for pickup and the wrong store. The General Manager today was so helpful by calling their Online Number to cancel the order. Luckily, the Sports Arena Store had one Fire Stick 4k left for $29.99 on sale. For the issue I made on the online order, totally my screwup, She ended up comping me for the Fire Stick 4K totally free for my trouble coming in and how the order was totally wrong online. I thanked her profusely for her generousity. What wonderful Customer Service offered by the General Manager during Covid-19. So grateful. Thank you! read more

Customer service is Horrible, specially in the printing department. Do not expect to have your stuff printed on time.

This location has literally no merchandise on the floor -- which clearly means they are not restocking frequently and thoroughly enough. I counted over six out of stock items in just a small cable adapter section. It's unbelievable that many items sold out in a week since there last load. The manager Freddy didn't seemed not very concerned they didn't have many of the cables and stated he couldn't check the load from today for what I needed a HDMI to DispayPort which is common enough it should be available at an office supply store. read more

I am giving this location two stars only because I believe in giving them the benefit of the doubt that if you knew exactly you what you wanted you would be able to find it. With that being said if you need assistance with the printing area, let's say to get a quote, see samples of paper, or just ask a general question you are not in luck. Easy button my arse! Staples has time in a time out let me down no matter how large or small the task. The most recent blunder was a 30 layover here to pick something up that I had called in about 3 hours prior for them to print, cut, and have waiting for me. Was it anywhere near being ready? No. Did they change gears and move any quicker when I displayed my disappointment for the job not being ready? Hell no! Did they give me a snotty attitude as if I were in the wrong for expecting my order to be done when they assured me it would? You betcha! Urrrgh... I'm not sure why this store has bad reviews. I've never had a bad experience here. I've bought office supplies for work, and most recently bought holiday cards. I really appreciated the same day printing. More importantly when I needed help, the staff in the printing area (Sherry and Juan) were great! Sherry very patiently helped me revise my order and Juan printed just one card as a sample to make sure I was happy with it before processing the full order. Because of them, I ended up placing additional orders. I used to print holiday cards online and at CVS but I definitely plan to print them and my business cards here in the future. read more

Did not have the color ink cartridge I needed for a basic simple cheapo HP printer I need. Nothing fancy or out of the ordinary. Needed to buy stamps, all sold out. No stamps. If you can't go to staples for these things then where can you go? Left with nothing. Friendly sales associates however. read more

I use this Staples when I need to pick something up before a flight because it's close to where I park and the airport. It can be nightmare trying to get out of the parking lot when In-n-Out is crowded and it's rush hour. Used to open at 7 am a few years ago but now it's 8 am. And it doesn't seem to have as many items in stock like the other Staples locations. But they carry padlocks (you need one if you stay at hostels) so if you realize that you left your lock on your desk at home and have 45 minutes to make your flight, this Staples is it. read more

i went to in n out burger and i parked my car by the store in front of one of the ads. when i came back from my delicious lunch, i saw a tow truck bringing my car onto its bay. i went to the driver and asked what they were doing, and they said staples asked them to tow the car for being in front of the ad, and i told them its not illegal to do that because i am a lawyer who's studied law for 6 years at Harvard, and he said that staples paid him 1000$ to tow it, and to pick it up from the car yard. i grabbed the ad and ripped it in half. i hope your happy now staples. read more

Staples Sports Arena destroyed my computer by reinstalling Windows 10. This uninstalled all of my program apps, Word, TurboTax, Roboform, Quicken, my e-mail apps, my browsers, all of my log in data, etc. Their computer techs are not knowledgeable. read more

I have been to this COPY CENTER twice and the staff is EPIC. LUIS is always super efficient, professional, kind, helpful, and delightful. He has helped me twice, downloading and printing materials, giving sound advice for two very different projects (one involved memorial photos & an obituary, same day; the other was for a philanthropic team project). In a day and age where many are stressed and customer service is not always stellar, LUIS and his group are a breath of fresh air. I had a print job that literally takes ten minutes to do (one I've done at other locations dozens of times) was turned away because they said it took 24 hours to turn around. I was being told this while people were standing around behind the print counter doing nothing while the printers were idle. Last time I got a job done here (which took ten minutes), they weren't all that helpful either. They told me they couldn't perform the very same tasks that I've had done at other locations. In sum, if you want a print job done, go elsewhere. read more

I went into this store about 3 p.m.on August 30. I was tired and hot, having been searching in vain for bankers boxes. A young man came and helped me. He carried the boxes, found other boxes I needed and carried it all up to the check stand. Absolute worst store I've ever been in. They tried to argue with me that my printer ink was a certain kind, and sell it to me. It was the wrong kind. Then I came to get a doc printed where they of course sent me to self serve. 15 minutes later I got the confirmation email then it charged me and didn't even print my doc. Spent another ten minutes getting a refund and being told that they couldn't do anything for me because their specialty wasn't printing. read more

I'm am absolutely blown away by this stores customer service. I first called to ask if the store carried a particular Avery label and they were so kind to take the time to find out for me. Even though they did not- they went out of their way again, to find something similar. I couldn't find what I was looking for regarding Avery labels but I went in anyway. I needed to print small brochures for my business and Summer went over and beyond for me. She not only helped me choose the right size for my image, she hand selected a great matte paper for it to be printed on and even went as far as cutting it down to size for me. It is so nice and refreshing to feel like you've been taken care of and it takes a lot for me to ask for help in the first place. Staples sucks ass. Been a Staples reward member since 2001. I bought Sodastream syrup 3 weeks ago for just $5 and wanted to do an even exchange for another variety - had the receipt - seems simple enough ... Not at Staples! Cashier had to call the inept manager over to explain to me because I used my Staples Rewards that they already expired and they couldn't refund it towards an exchange. However their "no receipt" policy will give store credit for the lowest price on a product in the last 30 days? So if I return and say I paid cash and lost my receipt they will honor an exchange? Can't see them being in business much longer with that kind of service. read more

My printer went KA-PUTS and I needed to print something out STAT. I swung by Staples to see if I could print out my document via a jump drive. When I approached the copy center, there were two staff members standing behind the counter chatting with each other. I stood there for several minutes trying to get their attention before one of them acknowledged me. I asked her if they had stations where I could print from a USB drive and she told me that they didn't offer that service. But then she followed up with asking me to wait a minute to see what she could do. She then went back to her co-worker and continued their "non work related" conversation. I was totally confused. And then I was annoyed. And then I left. I went straight to Target and bought a new printer. No Bueno Staples. read more

I have given up on this Staples. I went there to buy paper for my son's school. My PTA membership gives me a discount on products and services there. I verified this in an email to the corporate headquarters last week. When I was at the checkout, I asked about the discount and the girl knew nothing about it. So I requested the manager. He also knew nothing about the PTA discount. I asked if he could call his corporate headquarters. He refused. So I got the number and called them right there. It took about 20 minutes on hold, but I finally spoke with the rep and confirmed my discount. It didn't apply to the items I was purchasing that day, but at least I had an answer. A week or so later (i.e., today) I needed some documents printed in color. 40 pages, to be exact. I thought I would try them again. So I loaded the documents on their site. I called the store to ask how to apply the PTA discount to the order. Again, the woman had no clue what I was talking about. So she said she would transfer me to the copy manager. She then hung up on me instead. So I called back and asked once again. The guy I got on the phone this time also had no clue. He said to bring in proof of my discount. I decided to try that. However, I asked him to confirm that my order would be ready in two hours (as it claims on the Staples Web site), and he said there is no way that it would be ready in the next two hours, and that it would be tonight at the earliest. There was nothing he could do about that. Forget it, Staples. You suck. I'll take my money and my business to FedEx. (Note: I did take the project to FedEx. They also were swamped, but they managed to beat my deadline of two hours anyway. They gave me a discount. They were nice. And I am happier for it.) read more

Over priced, poor selection, and the ratio of employees to customer way too high!! I do not need to pay the salary of all of those ppl in case I need to ask someone a question.....nah. My mouse went out had to buy another. Sounds simple enough.... Unless you're dealing with an organization that puts broken crap back on to the shelf! Went home to spend nearly an hour trying to load the software (mouse had upgraded features) and with no mouse I had to tab-through the web pages....... but the software would not ever load = staples suck = they sell returned, broken stuff. And why is the cheapest mouse $20....really?! I ended up tooting over to target and getting a mouse for $8.00- and it works just fine!! I had the most joy returning the total purchase! $60 of merchandise I went elsewhere to purchase. My thought is that there is a stronger statement of my dissatisfaction with the store when I return the whole bag o'crap. HATE this store and this location. This is a generic big box office store. I, honestly, didn't know Staples even existed anymore... If they keep doing business the same way they won't last. Customer service sucks. This store is always a mess and is routinely slow. There are always associates emptying boxes in the aisles and clutter everywhere. Had one of those days where I had to run in for a quick school supply run and I was grabbing some pen and decided to get one of better quality (don't you hate it when your pen bleeds through your clothes) and I ask an associate nearby who was conversing with two other guys to see if he could grab it for me in the back. I almost instantaneously regretted as the kid seemed impatient and almost haughtily asked me to show him which one. When I picked it out, he told me to stick tight while he fetched it from the back. Finally, when he comes back, he informs me that he dropped it off at the customer service checkout. Gee thanks kid, how do I know if I'd like it for sure if I couldn't even check it out? Would you buy a camera without scoping it out first? Then I asked him where the sheet protectors and he annoyingly told me to check out behind aisle (16?) and just walked off. What a brat. read more

I used this Staples for the first time to print my Xmas cards. Ordered on line and liked the idea I could pick up in the store in 4 hours. I was called the next day and told my order was ready. So far so good. When I arrived at the copy area, my order of xmas cards were taken to the register to be rung up, I stopped the guy and asked to see them before he rung them up. I discovered they were too dark, I expressed my dissatisfaction, he then offered to reprint them on another printer to see if it will be lighter. I had to wait 20 mins in the store for the reprint, which turned out only a bit brighter. At that point I just wanted to just get my cards and leave as I needed to get them in the mail. After I got home I realised I did not get any envelopes. I called the store and made them aware of the lack of envelopes. I was then told that theydo not give envelopes for in house printed xmas cards. This made no sense to me. I went on line to see if I missed where it said that and only found where it said envelopes were included in the price. I called back the store and this time asked to speak to a manager, I was transferred to the Sales Manager who told me the same thing. She added if I opted to have their 3rd party do the card printing, envelopes would be provided but in house printing does not provide envelopes. I told her Walgreens provides envelopes for inhouse printing. Her response was she will let "them" know customes are wanting what Walgreens is providing. I asked again for envelopes, she told me she had not to give me I would have to buy them from the store. I told it is like buying a car then be told by the sales man "sorry the tires does not come with the tires". I requested the name of another manager as I was not satified with this service. She gave me the District Manager's name and number. I did call him and after 2 days he did call me back, I told him what my issue was and to his credit he approved vis the store manager to give me a full refund and provide me with envelopes. I would not use Staples again for any Xmas card printing and based on the type of in store service they might have just lost a customer. read more

This place deserves negative stars!!! I ordered 4 items online and opted for the 1hr pickup. Waited 4hrs to receive a confirmation email that my 2 out of 4 items were available and ready for pickup. The store manager, Javier, and cashier, Justin, were so slow- physically and mentally! I bought other items in the store and wanted to exchange an item I purchased online for a in-store version since it was cheaper... that also took forever. I don't even think the cashier did the return process correctly since I was still billed for it! This transaction was a week ago! The item costed $9.99 as much as I want a refund... I don't think I want to spend another minute trying to explain the error... I value my time more! My favorite part of all this... the cashier hands me my receipts and doesn't bag any of my items! (I would've bagged my stuff myself if I had access to the bags!) How am I suppose to lug all the stuff I just bought to my car? SMH!!!! Where's the "easy" button again? read more

I love staples and I am always impressed by the customer service. EXCEPT when I come in the Staples on Rosecrans and sports arena. I've been in here twice and both times left appalled. Here is the list: 1. Absolutely not one person helping customers with questions about products or helping customers find products. 2. 15 minutes standing at the print area and never acknowledged (no line). I had to ask for help from the three employees (one was a team leader) talking about casino girls and cussing. 3. One employee had pants hanging below his but and had to hold them up (check the video Staples). My girlfriend was offended at the entire Staples experience. This was a pretty standard Staples. Several people asked me if I needed help, but they all had to ask someone else where to find the things I needed. Things were neat and organized. But, I didn't really feel safe going here. There were 4 bums hanging right out front the door. The prices were all rather high. I was shocked when I checked out. Staples has become my new go to for office assistance...copies, fax, computer access etc. normally when I go in there I'm usually in a panic because I'm always in a hurry and careless usually making mistakes. A customer service rep in the print area by the name of David is so calm and collected and always willing to help me even though I'm usually scatterbrained and frustrated.I'm so grateful for his help and tolerance towards my behavior. The management here is absolutely top notch. I came in with an issue regarding a product and Julio did what most people don't. He went beyond the scope of immediate answers and took the time to problem solve with me. I went to another Staples just before coming to this one and was waved off with a canned and probably severely over used "14-day policy" spiel. The ability to find answers where other people cannot is a true representation of work ethic. Moreover, if you want your business to do well and retain customer trust, then you need to have a better way of dealing with faulty and defective products. My experience with this store is thankfully different than the others'. I bought an executive chair online from Staples in January. Unfortunately, it broke pretty badly. Instead of hauling it in, I took pictures and hoped it would suffice. Bernie, the manager on duty was extremely kind and helpful. Without any hassle at all he refunded the money and gave me a discount on a new chair. With that kind of service, I could easily keep coming back. read more
