This is the WORST Staples ever. I don't know why it is so hard for them to finish a print job same day like Office Depot can. Every time I go into this Staples to have copies made and I mean like 20 copies, they always tell me that it will be ready tomorrow. Why the hell can't they do same day service??? I will just stay with Office Depot like I always do and never even consider Staples again. Office Depot does great work and they are fast and provide same day service. This store is a mess literally and figuratively. There is merchandise scattered everywhere, empty bins of what used to be full of sale items (WTH - it's only Thursday - keep things stocked!). Many displays with no price at all listed. Merchandise scans at a different price than the sign indicates (which is illegal by the way) and the staff is unfriendly, and not at all knowledgeable. I just spent 45 minutes trying to buy antivirus software. The item was not scanning at the sale price as stated on the tag on the shelf and the asst. manager kept insisting that the coupon on the cover had already come off as an instant buy. The coupon was a special coupon for rewards customers and was NOT an instant savings coupon. This associate had no idea what she was doing and wasted my time. Seems the only positive reviews here are from people that have only written 1-3 reviews (read: insider). Went to get a return on a bag. Waited at the customer service counter for a few minutes until I had to walk over to a teller (not serving anyone) and ask for service. She asked "what do you want?" and when I explained it to her, she said "no, can't do that". I asked to speak to the manager and she walked over to him, and came back and said "he says no as well". I politely requested the manager come speak with me directly, but was told I had to walk over to him. Fred was very condescending and abrupt. I finally got my problem sorted, and then walked over to the computer servicing desk with my laptop that I wanted to get fixed. Who should walk out over to that desk but Fred! I could see him rubbing his hands with glee, and when I asked him about fixing my laptop, he told me without pause, the cost would be more than the laptop was worth and that was it! Interesting he could give me that diagnosis without even looking at the thing! Found this store had a weird vibe - most of the staff were wearing sweaters (it was winter), and I guess Staples don't have a team sweater because I saw all different kinds brought from home. This review is strictly on customer service and custom ordering. I ordered three calendars for Christmas and waited about an hour in line to pick them up on a Monday around 11am. Why is there only one worker working the entire copy and prints section? I finally get my turn and they forgot to make one of the calendars. I was told it will take all day because they are busy and the man pointed to the very long line. He said I should come back before closing and it will be ready. I leave the story angry and receive a phone call an hour later saying the calendar is ready. I had completely left the vicinity thinking it would take 9 hours like the man informed me numerous times. I could have waited if it was going to be that quick. Thanks for the clear and accurate timing Sir. He could have whipped up the calendar as he was pointing to the very busy line. I will not work with staples copy and prints for next years Christmas calendars. read more

This is my second 5-star review for Staples. I just had another AWESOME experience with a recent purchase. This time, I was honored to have Hector Casas assist me with my new computer. No pressure in trying to "upsell" me with anything, which is always nice. He was extremely patient with my lack of tech savviness and happily addressed all of my questions/concerns ... much appreciated! He gave me what seemed like very personalized service and set up my new computer with everything I wanted ... did it so quickly, too! The employees at this couldn't get themselves out of an open paper bag. The customer service at this store is HORRIBLE. Time and time again Im always leaving this store frustrated. Recently bought a notebook after my desk top version went by the wayside. Over the course of the purchase, installation and set up,I dealt with three or four of the technicians. I recommend this particular Staples because of these technicians who all are really techy and service centered. Everything went smoothly with the purchase and they showed me some tips, answered questions when I went back as I was getting over the learning curve and, overall, quite willing to hand hold. read more

This is my favorite Staples in the valley. I probably come here several times a week with my girlfriend. We know pretty much the whole staff. There are a few managers here I can definitely do without.. you can tell they probably loath their jobs. However, Brian (the head manager) is a total class act. He's a busy guy but if he happens to be there and you're having trouble, he'll help you out. read more

Easy parking and great service. I had to get lots of paper shredded - Molly helped me and was very pleasant. Much better than the UPS store I had used in the past. Good selection of moving boxes and supplies I needed. Also the price of my shredding was much less than other places I had checked on. I will come back. read more

can you give a minus starts on this site or even red stars to show how bad a service, two weeks ago i drove 50 miles into Staples Studio city store to get a 3D statue made for my Daughter birthday, i was told that it would take 10 working days which i agreed to. Stables rep words "were i quote if you don't have it by the 28th two weeks from now call me back so i did. I was also told that i could track it with the number on the receipt that was also incorrect!!!!!!! So i called Staples Studio city to find out where it was, i spoke to some lady there. It took a While for her to find the order after i gave her all the information and got told it was being ship or getting ship she could not tell me the tracking number as there was not one to give. I told her why i needed it here by that time frame she basically told me it is what it is. her words. I said really thats how you handle your customers problems wow!!!!! I then asked for the store manager he came onto the phone and basically the same thing as the lady before said to me i told him the same thing as before its for a birthday and if the truth had been said up front i would not have purchase the item!!!! since there was no tracking number it had not been sent yet please get your suppler to send it over night!!!! He said he will call his rep and find out, i never got the follow up call back!!!! So i come to find out after me having to call them back again!!!! that the so call rep had not called to find out where it was only sent an email !!!!!!! because no one at that warehouse has a phone really this day an age no phone not even a mobile hmmm sounds suspect to me!!!! So i told them cancel the order and got told i can not do that since i have to wait and bring the product in really if i wanted to wait that long would i go thru this!!!!and its past my daughter Big Day also call corporate customer services they game me some 800 number and the call center is close because they are on central time that would have be good to know before calling them to find out !!!!!! read more

the overall attitude in this store is awful but if you want to experience true incompetence and unhelpfullness take a trip to the "print counter" where there are three people standing around doing nothing that cannot make any simple 11x17 copies for you nor do they know what they are doing. just an awful experience, and talking to the "managers" in that store is even worse ...manager tried to tell me that the self service copier "defaults" to 64% reductions and had an attitude while doing it ...never going back read more

I came into this Staples today looking for a table lamp. I found a table lamp for which I wanted to test its brightness. The manager whose name is Hector Casas came to assist us and for some reason went to the back of the office to plug in the lamp. I didn't understand why he did this as I wouldn't be able to evaluate the brightness from across the room. When I asked if I could come to the back to see the brightness of the lamp, Hector answered that I can't go back there. When I asked if there is another outlet anywhere, he lied and said no. I came back home, tested the lamp and it wasn't what I was looking for. We came back to Staples to return the lamp. An employee named Randol quickly found an outlet and plugged in the lamp in the customer area right in front of where previously Hector told us that there are no outlets, that the only one was in the back office where no customer was allowed. In general I lost time and energy that could have been saved if I was served by Randol in the first place. With Randol I didn't and wouldn't deal with this issue. I am hesitant to come back to shop there now. I believe that Hector isn't qualified to be a manager for either lying to us or being incompetent to know where there are extra power outlets in the store. I am writing this as this may not have been the first time these type of incidents have happened nor the last time it will happen with Hector as manager. Please pay attention to this case, completely unprofessional/incompetent behavior. read more

Went to buy a printer, they had a great price. The salesman told me that Hewlett Packard's warranty did not include labor. He then told me I would need to buy the store warranty policy. I bought it and then checked the mfg. warranty. It did include labor. I took the warranty into the store and showed the salesman and the manager...they both insisted there was no labor. I don't know if they were dense or just desparate to sell the policy. They then told me that the factory rep from Hewlett Packard had told them that only parts were covered. They said that the store's warranty would have a repairman come to my house if it needed repair. How could they do that on a $100 machine ? Again twisting the truth...I was later told that what they meant was if I had a problem their tech people would talk to me on the phone about it and try to help. I installed it on a Sunday so the mfg was not available on a question...I called the store and was told they couldn't answer my question because they offered installation for $100 and if I wanted help I would have to pay as that was a paid service they offered. I found out that to install the printer on a windows xp system I would need to download drivers...the store said H.P. knows that but doesn't tell you. Am I supposed to believe that one too ? read more
