Patrick and the guys there are awesome! My clutch died on my 2010 Honda Fit. I had always done my services at the dealership, but when I called, they quoted the clutch replacement at $1,900. I found Star Auto Service on yelp and had my car towed there. The quote I got from them was more than $600 cheaper. In addition, they ran diagnostic tests on my car as a whole and recommended a few other things. Service was great and super quick. It seriously has been a problem since I bought the car. I have taken my car to the dealership (because that is what we think we should do right?) Well, I had had enough back and forth. i thought i could trust this place as i've had work done by them before, but after leaving with my vehicle today, it's evident they didn't do anything to my car. i initially went in cuz of a suspected vacuum pump leak and a full diagnostics. skyler was able to confirm it was a vacuum pump leak and stated they topped my oil to keep me safe until i get it fixed, topped off everything, reset what needed resetting and assured me they filled up my tires as i gave them a heads up my tire pressure was too low. i paid $142, not bothering to think twice on what it was for cuz they were such honest people before and figured business may not have been booming during this pandemic, so just handed over my card and signed the paper. but as i started my car n started to drive away, the 'tire pressure too low' warning came on. so when i got home, i checked my tire pressure n oil level, and sure enough, they did NOTHING. my tire pressure was the same and the oil level was the same as when i gave it to them. all they did was reset the 'service now' warning which i could've done myself. based on the pictures they sent, i'm sure they just took my word for the leaking oil pump, took pics of it and sent it to me. i wanted to go back and demand my money back, but figured we all need an up in this pandemic, and if my $142 helps them with whatever they need, then ima let go n let God take care of it. i just hope they also realize we're all struggling in this pandemic and i was just looking for honesty in a business that so many people get robbed in. read more

This is the kind of auto mechanic you always wish you had . Fair, honest and they don't take advantage of you. I have taken my cars here for years. Jeff only fixes things that need fixing. When I told Jeff I need an alighment, he put it on his rack checked it out, and said no alighment was needed. He did not charge me. Unbelieveable! If he thinks the problem isn't worth fixing, he will say so. I brought in my old Jeep and it has a crack in the exaust manifold. He said it wasn't worth fixing. Best automotive shop ever! After getting my car back from Community Tire, which they screwed up, I took my car to Star Auto Service. Being a girl I'm always a little skeptical of mechanics (cough Community Tire) but after looking at their other Yelp reviews, I was convinced that they much be doing something right. When I got there I didn't have an appointment but Rob was still able to help me. Community Tire forgot to plug in a simple sensor on top. Rob just plugged it back in cleared the code and that was it. I was pulling out my wallet to pay him but he said no charge. He was extremely helpful, understanding and knowledgeable (also VERY easy on the eyes). DUDE! When I delivered my car to these guys. It was in some baaaaaaad shape man. That same day I received a full report on the issues with my car, and whatever was considered a non issue. By the looks of it I was in for some serious tune ups. I expected to be carless for days (cuz I'm dramatic). Buuut NOPE! They called me that same day telling it was ready to pick up. I unfortunately couldn't make it till two days after. Which they were totally cool with. My boyfriend ended up kindly picking up my car. And the minute he saw the car he flooded me with texts about how great a job they did. Quote- "Babe it's like a brand new car!". When he got home. I looked at it glisten! They washed it and everything. And the car ran like a dream. No stalling, no trouble accelerating (like when I brought it in), it doesn't even lag anymore to pick up speed. I'm extremely grateful for their service. The cost was totally reasonable, and it seemed like they actually gave a shit. Which I'm sure we'd all hope for in these desperate times.
