Im only giving 1 star because of the garlic fries were really good. Besides that, I had to wait 10-15 minutes for a table while there was hardly anyone there. Then our server got our order wrong twice( they were friendly and good about fixing it though). My main problem was the shrimp. I ordered 1 1/2 pounds and ate only 1 shrimp. I have never eaten a shrimp so mushy that it falls apart before. The quality was so bad that i left the whole bag of shrimp on the table (picture shown is what i left). The manager did give us a 20% discount which i do appreciate. Servers were very nice but i just wish the quality of seafood was better. read more

However, our server forgot our side order of rice and someone from our party had to walk up to the counter to ask for our water pitcher to be filled. First time here and didn't know what to expect. This is one of those places that put paper on the table and just pick up all the trash in one shot. Our server explained the the menu was on a Q R code, but also gave us a physical menu. They have Dr. Pepper, the shrimp was really good. The lemon pepper fries left a lot of room for improvement. I liked all the food we ordered. The fried oysters, catfish, soft shell crab, and those garlic fries are killer! The tab adds up quite a bit. The music was not my style, but I could live with it. I also got the gumbo. It was kind of small with one crayfish in it. Oh and the fried okra was really good. The servers were very nice. They told us the gratuities would be 18%. We usually give 20% anyway so it kinda grinds my gears when they do that. Anyway not a lot of people in there. It was 1:50 when we were there. Very casual, but clean. Bathrooms clean as well. Always appreciate that. Just thought it was a little pricey, but no flaw with any foods. I may come back. I would just add the music was too loud. read more

Christine.... Not the best server . Each time I've gone there , her energy is a little off . She made me feel like I had to settle for what I didn't want because I didn't trust that my food would be okay the next time it came out . I told another waitress what was wrong with my order and Christine came back with my food aggressively asking "so what's wrong with this ?" . The only thing that saved this restaurant from a 1 star review was the good customer service and good ambiance. Everything was fine except for the food. I ordered a dozen oysters (not fresh at all) that had a fishy smell to them and they tasted like they were ran under tap water them put back into their shells. After the disgusting oysters I got the calamari and they tasted like they were store bought, along with the fries that come with it (which weren't fully cooked). I got a crawfish bag with corn and sausage after tasting the first crawfish I knew I wasn't going to like the rest of the bag. I tried the corn and sausage and they were worse than the crawfish. So you get the picture, food was terrible but based off of all the other good reviews either these people have never had good seafood or we just got a bad batch, so let's be realistic and say it was the latter. read more

Honestly probably the best tasting and flavorful bags of shrimp I've ever tasted, I've been to other restaurants like this and they don't come close to star crab, me and my fiancé wanted some seafood but didn't feel driving far out for some seafood. We saw Star crab and we were skeptical at first but when we went inside it was actually pretty nice. The service is visibly in its developing stage as the attentiveness isn't 100% yet, but their servers can be better. Overall very nice and helpful just wish a little bit more of "checking in" for things we needed like butter or another round of beer. Overall I never thought Fontana would have a seafood stop as good as boiling crab but I gotta say give it a couple months and it's clientele is going to explode on how great the food is here ! read more
