I have been ordering from this place for a few years now because the food is phenomenal. I have had no complaints, until recently I noticed the customer service here has gone down tremendously. There is always a long wait for phone orders, and inside the restaurant in general as they are typically busy which I didn't mind because the food is amazing so I figured it's worth the wait. However, tonight I actually got hung up on in the middle of a phone order, then when I called back I was placed on hold and forgotten about for several minutes, nobody returned to the phone to finish my order. I tried calling back a third time only to find out the phones are off the lines, impossible to place an order. I have been a loyal customer for years, so I'm very disappointed. Lunch for 2. This place is a little hole in the wall in Riverside in a small shopping center super close to the Tyler mall. My first time here. There was a little wait to be seated. Seating not the most comfortable however I do like how sections are broken down. You get lots a privacy at your table. It's very clean inside and the decor was super cute. Our waiter (didn't get his name) was friendly and checked on us often. I ordered shrimp with house seasoning mild. I usually always order headless when I got to shrimp spots but they was not an option here. Thought the seasoning could be more flavorful and spicier for a mild option. The corn was ok. The flavor was lacking and the shrimp was overcooked. It was soooo difficult to peel the shell off due to how overcooked it was. 3/5 Crab: 1 pound of snow crab, butter, no spice. They emphasized that it wasn't fresh, only frozen. Good to know. 3/5 Clam chowder: comes in a small to-go bowl/cup. I would say it's good for one person, not to share..... if you have an appetite like mine lol. 4/5 Chicken fingers: appetizer, ordered as a meal for my 7 year old sister. 4 pieces comes with fries. we ordered regular fries with this. 4/5 Wings: Honestly, the best thing we ordered. We ordered with Cajun fries and everything came out super crispy!!!!!!!!!! Horrible service! First time ordering from Riverside since I'm visiting. I placed the order through yelp pick up. Waited 15-20 min to pick up which was great. Once we got there, there were a couple people waiting, even though there were tables empty. When I arrived, I was asked for confirmation but I did not have it on hand. The staff at the front asked what I ordered and gave my entire order (3 shrimp orders) while I waiting to get my email confirmation and then they gave me "my order". Mind you, there were no other pick up orders on the table. Once I was heading out, I noticed there was no rice. I went inside and told them there was no rice, which I waiting another 5min there. Once I arrived home, STARVING, I open the bag and it's crab legs. I immediately call and they realized it was me, since I'm assuming the order person went back to also complaint. I was told they made a mistake and that my order was ready and they bagged it incorrectly. I was told to take back the crab legs, maybe to give it to the customer who was waiting , I'm not sure! And headed over there. 15 minute commute once again to pick up. Once I got there, they looked through all the almost 10+ orders they had there and gave me my order. I ordered the shrimp star bucket with shrimp, crawfish, medium heat, and lemon pepper seasoning. I paid $4.00 extra for peeled shrimp, $2.00 for Extra corn, and $2.50 for extra potatoes. When I got the order home and opened it, there were two corn, three potatoes, and only 1/4 of the shrimp were shelled. Obviously, I didn't get the extra potatoes and obviously they knew that they did not give me all peeled shrimp. The food itself was good, with a nicely flavored sauce. It was a little too sweet for me, but still very good. My daughter loved it when she added the fresh lime juice. The heat was a real medium level just as requested. We didn't even use the lemon pepper because it was just seasoning in a cup on the side, and the sauce with the lime juice was more than enough. read more

This place is usually good, one of my favorite. I don't know what went on today but it's enough to have me look elsewhere for my crawfish fix. The crawfish tasted off, very fishy, and very rubbery. The shrimp was mushy. It pulled apart in the shell and disintegrated in your mouth. I couldn't eat it. Disappointed in this experience. Even the potatoes were undercooked. Only 3 people dining in and they couldn't even render appropriate or decent service. When I called I should have gone with my instinct that the in person would be even worst. I'm always craving boiled seafood but there aren't too many options in the inland empire, so Star crab is our go-to! This was my third time eating star crab. We usually take it to go and we get our orders pretty quickly. I wouldn't say that the seafood is the freshest, but the last couple times were good. We got 1lb of shrimp + 1lb of clam and the shrimp was okay (not sure if it's because it's off season?) Clams were great though. We got the full house with level 3 spiciness! Love this place , we got there during Friday dinner so i was surprised that we only had to wait about 15 minutes for a booth during the rush. The fries and garlic bread are my favorite sides and the flavoring of the shrimp bags is out of the world... i always get the full house mix with a medium spice(they have 6 different levels of spicy).
