I went in today with my dad to check out the Mazda3's they had the on lot. Our saleswoman was Evita and she was funny, personable, witty, and full of character. I work in sales myself and I personally feel that it is absolutely crucial to have someone with whom you can connect with. I enjoyed conversing with her while we were going through the motions of negotiating and purchasing a vehicle. She had a great sense of humor and she didn't B.S. me. If she didn't know an answer to a question, then she sought out someone in the dealership who did. This is my first review on Yelp. I never really visit this site but after my dealing with Evita and the dealership in general, I personally felt obligated to pass my positive experience onto others. I pretty much had my mind made up on the kind of car I wanted so there wasn't much in the way of detailed questioning and answering as to the specs of the model I was looking at in the lot, but she lent an atmosphere of confidence and friendliness to the entire visit to the dealership. Thank you again for your superb service Evita! The only drawback to the visit (which was in no way our salesperson's fault) was that the financing department was understaffed and there was a line of people waiting to get the financing of their new purchases completed. I was informed they were in the process of interviewing applicants for another financing manager to add to the staff, so I guess my timing in that respect was off. I definitely got the distinct impression that they were doing a lot of business today. I was very happy to find that Star Mazda didn't force added features with the purchase of the vehicle. Built rapport, asked questions and broke down different numbers and gave me alternatives. It all went great until the manager John came in "trying" explain the reason why they won't approve a lease. Instead of reasoning with me, he made me feel like a small person by saying "it's very unfortunate that you have to renew it every 2 years". We had a great experience here. I was on the hunt for a Mazda 3 sedan, and my husband was helping me look. He reached out to quite a few different places, and of all of them Abiel at Star Mazda gave us the best price and was the most attentive. We ended up visiting Star Mazda on my birthday and made a purchase - Abiel was friendly, bright and not at all pushy. I felt really good about giving him the sale. They noticed it was my birthday while filling out the paperwork, and I joked that I "expected a bow". I literally rushed home to write this review because I didn't want to forget to write it later. First of all I want to note that if I could give them more stars I would. After going to and contacting multiple mechanics about the issue I was having with my car I was left beyond flustered. Mechanics refused to work on my car and couldn't tell me what the problem was. I finally went to Star Mazda as my last resort and boy am I glad I did. I want to give a very special thanks to Loucretia Velasco. She was beyond fantastic!!!! She alone made the whole experience bearable. She took my car in and half an hour later she and her team knew exactly what was wrong with my car. I ended up leaving my car with them thinking I wouldn't be getting it back for another week, and amazingly I got a call from her the very next day telling me my car was ready! She kept in contact with me throughout the whole process and let me know exactly what was going on with my car. At the end she even saved me around $300!! On top of that they did a bunch of extra necessary work and even washed my car!!! The whole experience was quick and easy and I will definitely be returning for all my car needs. read more

Terrible experience! I just finished a huge survey explaining all the details, I conclude briefly with this review that not only was expensive but also... The problem still exists, the person in charge of the car lied to me several times, offered million other unnecessary services not sure if to get more comission or something, etc... UPDATE: I'm updating this review because the service manager Roy called me and apologized for the mix up. He gave me a huge discount on the service and provided me with a rental car to use at no charge. I really appreciate his concern and how friendly everyone was to me. Hopefully they'll fix the computer program so that you can't schedule appointments on days that the business is closed. ------------------------------------- I made a 9am service appointment on July 4th. I left a note asking them to contact me if they were closed. I received a confirmation that my appointment was scheduled. When I arrived, I was told that they were closed because everything is closed on the 4th. Well tell that to Starbucks, the grocery store, and the donut shop I had just left. I told the man that not all businesses are closed and why didn't they put something on their website? Why did the system allow me to make the appointment if they were closed? I had a lol dilemma where I didn't have a vehicle to transport to sign the papers and everything. So he drove printed the documents, got the car, and drove to my place. From Glendale to Anaheim. All washed, vacuumed and full tank of gas. One thing I don't like is it's location. Has terrible internet reception and ugly and dangerous parking spots. Crooks and idiots! I've been coming here for years for car repairs with no problem but something changed in the last year. They seem to be pushed to up-sell. The last oil change I came in for I was told I needed over $2,500 in repairs. I declined and have since taken my car elsewhere and my new mechanic says the car is fine, only scheduled maintenance needed. Also, before I switched mechanics I emailed them about installing an iPhone integration system on my car to see if they could do this and what the ball park estimate might be. They kept emailing me back trying to get me to buy a new car and trade my old one in. I kept telling them that I was not in the market to sell my car or buy a new one but was looking to have stereo parts installed. They couldn't understand this. I'm done. Bye. read more

I would give more stars if possible for the service I received from Kyle Groom. I was dreading the process of looking for a new car to lease. I was deciding between the Mazda CX-5 and another vehicle and my friend recommended Kyle Groom in internet sales at Star Mazda. He responded so quickly to my inquiries and when I changed my mind a few times on what extras I wanted he never made me feel like I was bothering him. When we came to sign the contract the wait for Finance was longer than what we had time for so we rescheduled so we could be the first in line with Finance department the following Saturday. A few days later before we were scheduled to meet with Finance I asked Kyle if there was another color vehicle available. He got back to me so quickly to confirm that he could get it for me. I was thrilled! The day we were supposed to sign the contract it was raining and my husband wasn't feeling well. Kyle said he could bring the contract to our house to sign if that would be easier for us. That was pretty amazing! Kyle is professional, knowledgeable and friendly! His goal is to make the customer happy with their choice. He also has been helpful when I've stopped by with questions about the vehicle and encouraged us to come by with any questions. Star Mazda is AMAZING! I had been researching new cars for several months & finally decided to go look at a CX5. I'm not a huge fan of car shopping, and due to unavoidable situations, I had to do this ALONE! Needless to say, I was a little concerned about being taken advantage of. I went to Galpin 1st, where I was rudely ignored, & then forgotten. I was about to call it quits, but it was really tome for a new car! I took a deep breath & called Star Mazda to see how busy they were. Israel answered my call, listened to me whine, and assured me He would personally take care of me. He asked about the car I wanted to see, & color, so he could have some options ready when I arrived. I was amazed when I arrived, was warmly greeted by SEVERAL sales ppl and other employees, AND my sales guy Israel was ready to show me the car I wanted! Israel has got to be one of the most thorough and patient sales ppl on the planet! I fell in love with the CX5 after taking it on the fwy & being shown all safety features. But that was the easy part! Israel patiently gave me every possible option btwn buying and leasing, answering a million questions, and then, walked around their storage lot with me, in 100 degree weather, while I went back and forth over color. In all, Israel spent about 6 hrs with me ensuring I got exactly what I wanted. Then off to financing, where Don took GREAT care of me, explaining every detail along the way. Even the GM came by a few times to check on me! He's a doll, btw! EVERYONE came by at some point to congratulate me on my new car. Star Mazda honestly made one of my least favorite tasks, a more than enjoyable experience! I cannot strongly enough recommend Star Mazda, and Israel in particular! If you want a knowledgeable dealer, an attentive & patient salesperson, AND A REALLY SWEET & thorough Finance guy (Don) or if you're just sick of the old school super pressure, inattentive, snobby salespeople, GO TO STAR MAZDA! I brought in my car for repairs. I was called at 4 pm and told I can pick it up, without any warning about a closing time. So I checked online and saw the place is open until 6. Great. I ordered food for pickup as I was dropped off at 5:30 so I could grab the food on the way home, walked up to the garage, and found it closed at 5. But a cashier was supposed to still be available to give me my keys. Turns out, she bounced early that day without telling anyone and no one else there had keys to the office where my car keys were stored. So they called someone in to open the office. Great. Then, after my keys were freed, they spent the next 36 minutes holding my keys until someone could make time for the 20 seconds it required to process payment for my repairs. I told one person I had a food order waiting for pickup, but no one cared in the slightest or made time to process the 20 second payment. During this wait, I also witnessed several employees indoors with their masks off or their noses uncovered. One had his mask fully off while sitting in an enclosed office with another person (unclear if that was a customer or not). At the end of this, they never did or offered anything to make this right. I appreciate that they called someone who had a key to where my car keys were stored, but overall, they displayed a complete lack of concern for the wait and inconvenience. Truly astounding, terrible service. Update - if you simply search Star Mazda on Google, it says "Closing at 6" on Saturdays. You have to click on more info to see that the auto repair center closes earlier. The owner's response to my review was complete nonsense and ignores the rude service, the fact that a cashier left early when he or she should've been there until 6 to give me my car, and the failure to use masks, indoor, in violation of the law. I will never go back to Star Mazda and I recommend others also refrain from using their services. They're somehow worse than chain repair shops. read more

After researching online, Star Mazda had the best priced used car in the year/make/model (Honda Civic, not a Mazda) that I was looking for in all of LA, and it had the least amount of miles! So I came down for a test drive to see if it was too good to be true. Sure enough, the car was in perfect condition with barely any miles on it. I worked with Israel, who was very informative and helpful throughout the whole process, but was not pushy at all when my wife and I deliberated and asked for some time to ourselves. I should also mention that Israel took a detailed video of the exterior and interior of the car and sent it to us before we even came to the dealership so we knew it was in good condition! We also dealt with his manager John who was just as friendly and helpful. In the end we drove away with the best priced car in town after a quick and painless trip to Star Mazda. I've been to six dealerships in the past week and this was by far my worst experience. I came in with three specific cars I wanted to test drive. They were super nice to my (male) friend while I was using the restroom but the conversation completely changed tone once I entered the room. They refused to let me test drive with my California issued temporary id (note... temporary drivers license not a permit) which is the official format until the actual id arrives in the mail which can take several weeks. If this is an insurance limitation they should look into changing it because it cost them a car sale today. I could have written this off as if it weren't for the patronizing and unhelpful attitude of the employees. The salesperson told me I was "all over the place" based on the cars I wanted to test and completely missed out on an opportunity to ask questions to help a first time car buyer narrow down the best options. I showed him a car I wanted to test from their website and he acted like he had no idea what car I was talking about. He also told me I would probably need a co-signer despite having zero knowledge of my financial situation and was very condescending about it. It was clear they wrote me off as a customer from the start which was a mistake since I purchased a car two hours later after getting great customer service at both Volkswagen and Toyota. read more
