Fast, generous portions, reasonable price. Can't complain about this little shop in the food court inside HMart. The fries are very crispy and everything was tasty. The gyoza are OK. While I really enjoyed my ribeye beef teriyaki, I just wish there was some sort of vegetables to go with it. Oh wait, I opted to get the fries instead of a salad. The korokke (potato cake) was really good. Like a really big hash brown. If you're looking for some quick Japanese-inspired, Asian fusion, this is a nice spot.

Cool shop inside H-Mart offering a variety of Japanese inspired rice dishes. After coming back from Japan I was in the mood for some Tonkatsu so looked this place up. Great portions. Reasonable price. Food is decent. Overall good value. The rice felt like medium/long grain and didn't hold its shape too well. Which makes eating with chopsticks a bit awkward. Tonkatsu sauce here is mild in flavor and is non traditional. Not bad. Must be made in house. Just not as tangy with that stronger Worcestershire flavor I'm used to in Tonkatsu sauce. I prefer the traditional sauce myself. Korokke tasted like deep fried mashed potatoes, good crisp on the fry. I can't place my finger on it but the filling doesn't quite work for me. I don't think the sauce does much for the flavor. Overall good value with 3 for $5.99. A decent option of you're stopping by at hmart for lunch.

We really enjoyed our lunch here. It's inside the H Mart food court, and the air conditioning was pretty cold, so I'd recommend bringing a jacket. We got the fried squid and the curry cheese donkatsu. Both were excellent. The fried squid had an excellent savory seasoning blend. The curry cheese donkatsu had a perfectly crispy crust, melty mellow cheese, and flavorful curry.

We were coming in from a 4-hour drive and didn't want to cook, so we searched restaurants in the Katy Asia Town area. I wanted Donkatsu as I'd enjoyed it in Japan a couple of months ago. I found prices that ranged up to $18. We paid maybe half that amount in Tokyo! I saw Donkey Yaki's price ($11) and high rating and read reviews before deciding on it. Usually, food court restaurants are just average. Well, this place is really good for what we ordered and paid! My husband had the ribeye and I had the curry donkatsu. Both came with sauce, salad dressing, rice and a crispy salad. My husband wanted more beef, but my plate came with TWO pork cutlets! My sauce had the right amount of curry, but they can make it spicier for Texas tastes. The only things that could make it better are a side of the (red) pickled veggies and a good shake of those rice crispy looking garlic bits!

Was craving a variety of food; luckily Hmart cafeteria has plenty of options! The donkatsu was very delicious/crispy and Donkey Yaki was very generous with the katsu quantity given the price. My only gripe is there's not enough curry for the katsu and rice. Definitely worth trying this place!

I ordered the Ribeye Beef Teriyaki with rice and fries. Normal fries, decent not bad. The beef was tender and flavorful. Overall a decent lunch. I would order again.

This is in the HMart but it's delicous and well priced!! We tried the takoyaki (careful it's really hot!) and katsu curry and both was delicious. You can also ask for more sauce if needed free of charge. The katsu also comes with a salad & delicious Japanese dressing (or can be switched out for fries at no extra cost!). Service was fast and friendly. Can't wait to come back and try their other dishes especially their tornado potatoe swirls on a stick.

We were really impressed with this place! Highly recommend. They cook the food to order so there is a wait but it's well worth it. It's located in a food court. The place is nice and clean. The server was friendly and took our order and then went to cook it. The takoyaki was really good. I've had it many times and enjoyed this one. I really loved the curry cheese donkatsu. The curry sauce was super yummy and a little spice. The donkatsu was fried to perfection. Can't wait to return!

Delicious little spot inside the Katy H Mart! Stopped here to grab a bite while I'm in the area and I'm glad I did. You order at the counter in the food court and they give you a number -- it only took about 10 minutes to get my food during peak dinner time. I got the curry donkatsu with korokke (potato and corn croquette). Curry donkatsu was really good -- the cutlet was nice and crispy but the overall dish was just your typical curry katsu and didn't really stand out to me among others I've had. Donkatsu is served on a bed of rice and they give you the curry sauce on the side to pour over the cutlet. The plate comes with a side salad topped with an Asian dressing, and this worked well to balance out the savory flavors of the katsu. So all in all, a big portion for $10. The korokke on the other hand was absolutely amazing! I've never had anything like it before. Honestly wasn't expecting much besides a fried potato ball but there was lots of flavor on the inside and they give you a dipping sauce on the side, similar to Raising Cane's sauce. My only complaint here is that the amount of dipping sauce they give is hardly enough to suffice for the three croquettes that comes in the order. Overall a great find inside the Katy Asian Town H Mart and I'd be interested to try some of their other specialties like the cheese donkatsu!

If you like donkatsu this place is highly recommended. Good portion with very crisp katsu, one of the best in town. My wife always orders cheese donkatsu and the cheese inside is incredible! Must try it! It is located in the Katy Hmart, so it has the food court vibe and you will absolutely love the food here!

My favorite new H Mart food court restaurant!! It's Japanese fusion so it serves up different teriyaki and katsu dishes. The potato croquettes were incredible- super soft and fluffy interiors with crispy breading and a delicious curry dressing. I had the cheese curry donkatsu, which is pork and mozarella cheese katsu covered in curry on rice with a salad. The portion sizes are huge, definitely enough to share. The salad was really tasty and fresh with a savory dressing. Service was friendly and fast. Free miso soup with a yelp check in. Stamp card- you get one stamp for every 10 dollars spent and after a certain number I think you get an entree? Will be back for sure!!!

Me and family decided to order a dish from a few of the food court restaurants and just try them all. 8pm on a Sunday evening they ran out of the Curry Cheese Donkatsu. It must be very popular. I settled for the CURRY DONKATSU. The portion size was pretty big. I can't imagine finishing a whole entree by myself. It's a great sharing size. Visually it was colorful and clean. The pork katsu was lean and crispy. There was a salad with a variety of vegetables to make it healthy. I didn't feel heavy eating this. It's a great price to portion ratio. If I'm ever in the area I would wanna come back and try their Cheese Donkatsu My cashier was very nice and helpful. Pro-tip: I'm not sure if any of the windows would give out sharing plates because we were eating family style. I asked Donkey Yaki for two small two go boxes. We ripped them in half and used them as bowls. It worked perfectly!

The menu is big, but every item on it is executed so well. The flavors are comparable to that you'll get in Korea, with the side dishes few but perfect (the kimchi, jjangachi, and radish kimchi). My favorite is the gamjatang---there is so much meat, the potatoes are piping hot, and the soup is perfectly seasoned and rich. The pancakes and blood sausages are also delicious. I love coming here whenever I crave authentic Korean food: everything from the service to the meal itself is top-tier. The prices are also very very reasonable, especially lunch prices! Tasty Ko is located further South of I-10 in an assuming plaza. As soon I stepped into the restaurant, I was hit with delicious aromas of KBBQ and seafood sizzling at the tables. I was in the mood for noodles and so was my friend - we ordered the jjamppong and the jiajiangmein. The broth for the jjamppong was super flavorful and deep with seafood notes. There were plenty of veggies (cabbage) and squid. The shrimp were small and kind of mushy - probably from a frozen bag or just not fresh. I didn't mind though. The serving size of noodles were perfect, and maybe a little bit more than I wanted since I couldn't finish the whole bowl. The jiajiangmein looked equally as delicious - my friend said there was a lot of onion in the sauce. The array of banchan consisted of kimchi, marinated bean sprouts, cold kimchi pancake, and marinated spicy cucumber. Yummy banchan as well. Tasty Ko is a great spot if you're not wanting to drive all the way to the Spring Branch area for Korean food, and not wanting to spend an arm and a leg at Katy Asian Town. We ordered the Chef's Table which comes with 4 preselected meats (all beef). My favorites were the unmarinated and marinated kalbi. It's actually quite hard to find Korean BBQ places these days that don't strictly follow the AYCE model with lower quality cuts. These were very good cuts of meat. I could've probably done without the other two cuts. They were good cuts of meat, but the kalbi really stands out. This Chef's Table set comes with 2 sides, but you should know before going that banchan does NOT come along with the meal like many Korean restaurants you might be used to. So don't expect kimchi, salads, or even the lettuce wraps to come along with the meat. You can still order them of course, but will have to be included in your choice of 2 sides. We also ordered: - Seafood Pancake - pancake itself wasn't bad, but not extraordinary. The sauce for this was a bit of a let down. It also didn't arrive until the end of the meal which is unusual. But the service itself while friendly and kind was incomplete. We had to ask for a bunch of things that normally is just considered without mentioning and we didn't see our waiter visit that much after the food was delivered. - Ja Jang Myun - This was quite honestly the blandest set of noodles I've ever eaten at any restaurant. Both my wife and I have never had something taste like nothing. Which was too bad because the noodles themselves were cooked quite nicely. Not overly soft. Very disappointing. So back to the punchline, come here for the meat and skip the other stuff. I will say, they have a lot of different specials throughout the week so maybe those might be worth checking out before coming here because it is a bit pricy for what you get.
