We stopped by this Starbucks to relax a bit before exploring the city of Austin, and it turned out to be a perfect little break. While browsing the menu, we noticed the new advertisement for the matcha pistachio latte with chocolate and got curious, so we decided to give it a try. Honestly, it was way better than we expected! The drink had just the right balance of creaminess, and even though it was on the sweeter side, it was still very smooth and enjoyable without being overwhelming. The flavors worked really well together and felt both comforting and a little indulgent. I would absolutely order it again. The store itself had a nice, cozy atmosphere, making it a great spot to sit, relax, and recharge before continuing our day around Austin. A very pleasant and satisfying stop overall. read more

This is a solid location. I came in a busy weekend. Most seats were taken by customers. A steady flow of mobile orders were coming thru. The staff managed everything smoothly. I will say that they need to call out the names for orders louder so it can be heard over the sound in the dining area. Twice I thought I heard my name, but was wrong. It's not the quietest location, but working is still fairly easy. I was listening to a book and wasn't disturbed by noise. This is definitely a location worth patronizing. read more

This is not my local Starbucks - this branch on N Lamar is a solid spot for grabbing coffee beans and a quick drink. I go every few weeks for beans and am always pleasantly surprised when they have Pike's Place readily available--no need for the staff to dig through the back room! The store was quiet, fully stocked, and well-organized, which I appreciate. There's parking in the lot, making it convenient, and the staff were friendly and efficient. Overall, a great experience! Just missing that extra wow factor to make it a full five stars, but I'll definitely keep coming back. read more

Busy with the hospital nearby and medical staff getting caffeine all the time! But It's a nice and spacious cafe. I love how they add some local flair by highlighting a Customer of the week (way to go Mark, with the nitro cold brew & cup of water!) I thought it was a bit cold in here and one of the baristas said it was because of the high ceilings. Bring a sweater, scarf, or extra layer or two if you get cold easily! Thought I'd stop by and get some coffee before work since I was early. Put in my order through the app while driving down from cedar park and it said 4-7min, great! I'll get there in about 10minutes from when I put in the order. Get to Starbucks and give the barista my name for the order. She says it's not ready yet. No prob I'll wait a few. I keep waiting for another 15 minutes and all these orders are getting called. Now I'm late for work so I check on my order. We watched for too long a tome as the barista was apparently enthralled in a conversation with a woman who planted herself right at the pickup counter. I let the barista know that I would have been more satisfied if she had paid as much attention to our order as to her conversation. The capper was that the flavor of the drinks was subpar, no where near similar drinks at other Starbucks stores. I'll got to stores I know but never to this one. read more

If you want to feel like crap as a paying customer or human being even, this is the place! I live in the area but usually opt for Epoch coffee as my go-to cafe. Didn't feel like going that far today so I stopped here instead and was reminded why I prefer supporting local businesses instead. Upon arrival, I asked a barista that I saw outside if the store had any bike racks to place my bike. Being that this is Austin after all I didn't think this was a preposterous notion but was still addressed with an attitude and was told "No, there isn't". Feeling kind of weird about going in at this point but needing caffeine still, I proceeded to go inside. Walked in, I wasn't greeted by the barista Brad at all. He didn't seem warm in his service and was very curt with me as if I was a burden. I wasn't going to say anything but the energy I felt being here was so uncomfortable that I had to. I addressed the negative experience I had here with Brad and he provided some half-assed apology that didn't even feel genuine. He followed that with an excuse of "oh we're just busy transitioning over to a different shift" and offered me something for free. Soooo a shift change is an acceptable reason to make a paying customer feel bad? I'm missing the logic in that here. I also do not want free things; I declined. I want great or at least decent customer service, plain and simple. Needless to say, I will NOT be visiting this location again. read more

I have been to this location a few times now and I have enjoyed this location each time. The employees have made me feel welcome and have tried to get to know me. I don't know why but I will take it. I have always gotten my coffee to go except one time. That one time I did sit outside because I had some time to kill before an appointment. There is a nice small area with patio furniture right outside the main entrance. The inside would be really nice to sit and relax if you want that coffee shop vibe. read more

(This is the Starbucks on the corner of 45th & Lamar.) ************************ It's not that I leave this Starbucks feeling sodomized, it's just surrounded by quirks that upset the usual comfy experience. I like my coffee moments to be tranquil moments. And the biggest problem here is ingress & egress - this particular intersection at 45th & Lamar will back up and go nuts really fast, especially with drivers who assume the yellow light means "HURRY THE F*CK UP! THE RED LIGHT IS COMING!" And when you do get in the compact parking lot, you're sharing it with the Chili's, Chipotle, and the Steeping Room crowd, who appear to be fond of big trucks and SUVs. Look out for little cars who can't see you as they back out. But the Starbucks itself is actually okay, if maybe ever so slightly on the cramped side. I always see laptop people, and my instinct is they didn't drive here. This Starbucks also closes at 8pm. I wonder sometimes if they feel the pinch of Houndstooth & Central Market two blocks south, and Stinson's & Upper Crust a stone's throw west. At least when you sit outside of this Starbucks, you can wave at the cars hurrying by. read more

i just do not understand why everyone who works here are just so mean. I ask for a peppermint mocha, don't look at me like i cam crazy, just make my drink. I've been trying out this location because the one at Guadalupe and 38 can't make a decent drink to save its life. However, every time I go here it takes an unbelievably long time to get my drink when the store is nearly empty. My worst experience was when the baristas made 6 drinks for the 3 people who were behind me in line, then forgot about me even though I was the only person still waiting on my order. They were chatting with each other and with a couple friends who had stopped by and completely ignored me. The second instance was similar, in that my drink order was forgotten and I was left hanging around hoping that their friends who had stopped by would notice me and wrap up their conversation. Service like that just makes me feel really unwelcome and crappy. Am I so insignificant that you LITERALLY FORGET ABOUT MY EXISTENCE? I say please and thank you. I tip. I know, I know... Starbucks, right?! But driving through town one night I got a hankering for a hot chocolate with extra whip cream and what do you know there was a Starbucks that appeared in sight. What a shocker! So I ventured into the nearly empty Starbucks and ordered my hot chocy. The baristas, who labeled themselves the Starbucks Giants... the three handsome gents behind the bar who were all over 6'2, were great! Chatty and funny, one guy placed my order, one guy made my drink, and the other guy cracked silly Starbucks jokes the entire time I waited. Not only were these fellows kind but one even remembered the extra whipped cream, which is always forgotten, and poured it in a big cup to fill the remaining with sweet whipped goodness... he even decorated the top with mocha chocolate syrup! I'm not a big hot bev drinker and hardly enter through the doors of Starbucks but these guys made the visit a memorable one. 1 point for the mega franchise... but just one! read more

But it had an expiration date that I didn't see, and I was less than 24 hours a little too late. No big deal, right? Well it was, and the cashier working at the time made a deal out of it. Aaron (barista) consistently offers amazing customer service and quality drinks. He also remembers customers' names. I have never had an issue with this Starbucks' quality. We go all the time because it's close to work. It's also clean, fast, easy. I often drive here from Parmer because all the Starbucks north are horrible. This is a busy, crowded Starbucks with amazingly uncomfortable seating. It is often tough to get a table here, but there is a long, shared table. Unfortunately, both the long table and much of the rest of the seating is on high stools with badly-placed foot rests. The long table, the high tables, and the long counter seating are set at an uncomfortable height to work on a laptop or iPad. My back always hurts when I leave. So, if you just want take-out coffee, you'll be fine. If you are looking for someplace to relax with a cup of coffee, Stinson's is a more comfortable, close-by alternative. read more

This Starbucks wins over the others nearby UT campus. Large and spacious; loads of seating. Can opt to chill out on the couch or focus more by working at one of the tables. The baristas here are extremely nice...I don't know why, but they just are. Lots of parking, and I've found the wi-fi to be fairly decent. The only negative is that it's impossible to turn onto 45th street from here when there are a lot of cars out. It's kind of ridiculous. I was quickly dismissed by who seemed to be the manager on duty who appeared to have simply overheard my explanation to the cashier. Free Wifi, better than average Starbucks lattes, and friendly employees. What more could I want? Oh and it's walking distance to my office, so that's a huge afternoon perk. Especially since driving/ getting in and out of this Starbucks is kind of a pain. Grab some Chipotle or steeping room sandwiches and get some coffee and a pastry at Starbucks and you're set. Especially if you get the pumpkin spice loaf, that stuff is melt in your mouth amazing. If you can catch a sunny day in the fall that's not too hot, grab a chair outside for some comfy and relaxing time getting fresh air. read more

As they used to say about Austin generally: it's great, and please don't move here. (This location is crowded.) The people complaining in other reviews about the baristas here are straight-up hexing themselves. You won't find a friendlier staff than the people here. The lines are often long, yes, but look at how fast the baristas are ringing people up and making drinks. (Or don't look; just go on seeing everyone else as beneath you, and ignore how hard they're working for you. We're in "New Austin," after all. I'm excited about that influx of Apple techbros!) I feel all of the gripes about Starbucks as a company, and if you want to support local business, this location is a stone's throw from Houndstooth, Epoch, Monkey Nest, and the wonderful Flightpath, among many other options. Sometimes, alas, I'm in that mood where I just want bright lighting, clean tables and floors, and fast, friendly service -- and prefer to reduce my exposure to "creatives," "epicureans," and Austin's lithest and smuggest hipsters. For those moments, this Starbucks is a good place. I wish Starbucks would allow customers to tip on their cards. It seems strange that every other coffee shop on Earth lets you do that, but Starbucks still takes only cash tips in an increasingly cash-less economy. I've been going to Starbucks for over a decade, from Wyoming to Maine. I always have a good experience and I know I'm at Starbucks. I'm also a SBUX stockholder. So saying that a Starbucks SUCKS is very sad for me. The baristas @ 45th/Lamar have complete attitudes. If you ask for anything special at all, it's made with a hateful attitude. For example, there's no option in the mobile order app to request steamed milk for drip brew and asking for it from the barista when you pick up will get you a scathing glare. One barista nastily insisted that there's an option in the mobile order app to specify steamed milk with drip brew, then admitted she'd never used the app. The store has since disabled their location in the app so that you can't order mobile there. The staff at this location should be stunned that out of hundreds of Starbucks visited over more than a decade, they are the ONE that I will never return to. read more

I've been a Starbucks Gold member for an embarrassingly large percentage of my life, so I think I can reasonably consider myself a judge of what makes a good Starbucks. I'm honestly surprised by the mixed reviews here as I'd personally rank this among my top locations in Austin. I haven't been too many times recently, but when I was there at least on a weekly basis this was my favorite for being so spacious and having more than enough parking. If I were to choose a cafe in Austin to spend a day in it would be here! What I like: * No hunger games for parking unlike the Starbucks on 24th or the Starbucks on 15th * The largest and most open floor plan; I am honestly surprised but grateful that they haven't tried to squeeze in more seating. * There's a Chipotle nearby if you're going to stay there all day, and they don't blink an eye when people bring in their burrito to enjoy with their coffee What I don't like: * This location isn't open quite as late as some others, which makes it inconvenient for a night owl like me. read more

This Starbucks location is semi ok with opening on time. There have been more than three occasions when I drove there at opening to ten mins past opening, and they're still closed.
